But I'm not trying to continue a male-suspect theory after this new information was released today. And so many people were wrong about it being a male, too, you included.
I think I read her lawyer is claiming "imperfect self defense" and said her statements don't indicate guilt.Wonder if there will end up being a plea for 2nd degree...if confession holds up, no point in wasting hundreds of thousands on a trial. Life in prison is still possible in VA for 2nd degree, I think.

I totally disagree. As I mentioned in the first thread a few months back, I operated an out call service over a decade ago and I am well aware that women play games with these guys. Nobody intends on killing anyone, things just go wrong and my feeling is that at 21 and new to her scamming game, she lost control. Her motive was cash and dash, but DM wasn't having it and most likely tried to yank the money out of her hands.
She didn't intend to randomly stab a guest and steal. She targeted one specific type of guest by making arrangements to meet with him. This was really only random among the CL gay community (because any one of them could have been randomly chosen by the suspect), and that's why the commenter went to the police and provided DM's email address. He was doing it for himself and the CL gay community in addition to helping LE solve DM's case. This makes sense, thank you clu. By the same token, it could have happened to anyone opening their door at Donovan that night, if that's what she had on her mind, to randomly go stab a guest and steal, I imagine. They should have security to match what rep they aspire to.

I wouldn't call it a false email. It's just an email account she uses. She probably responded to one of those lock-out enticements yahoo has asking people to provide their cell phone numbers. I believe sometimes you can't get back into an existing account unless you provide it if you've forgotten your password. I have yahoo, and it's a PITA that yahoo is always trying to get my cell phone number from me. I've never provided it, but not providing it requires me to click two screens before I can log into my email every single time. Some people probably cave eventually to eliminate those two clicks. The part I'm confused on, and I am probably missing something, is the link of her actual phone number to her false email. Why would she link an actual number with an account in her name? Something very traceable?

I doubt he wants that. Did you read the additional comments? He's some type of software professional IIRC. I'm sure he wants to remain as anonymous as possible.Hope he gets awarded. Agreed.

I agree with you completely on all points, except I'm wondering if she drove there by herself in her own car. I have no idea if she owns a car or not though.RBM, I think this is what happened. And I wouldn't be surprised if this was the first time she ever tried this. I definitely don't think she was hired and don't think there are co-conspirators. And I don't think she had a driver, she probably used his metro card to get home. Sad story all around.

Based on his collective posts, it didn't sound like he reported anonymously. He's probably satisfied he did his civic duty and got a killer off of the street, but it's good to know there is a system set up for society/LE to express gratitude via a reward without ruining someone's life.Tip lines are often set up where the tipster is given a code number to use to collect the reward so they can remain anonymous. This is actually a good system, as many people are worried about their identity being revealed, for several reasons. Hopefully the tipster used a tip line like that. They are often linked to in news articles asking for those with any helpful information to come forward.
I think the suspect was late. There's no other explanation for him notifying his wife he'd be home in an hour when he wouldn't likely be done with his appointment in an hour.He was said to have been emailing her back and forth for a about five hours prior, that may explain some of what he may have been doing at the hotel, since around 5:30 pm.

I don't believe the suspect texted his wife for a few reasons. 1) It's unlikely she even knew the suspect had a girlfriend/wife. The commenter said it came out in conversation while DM was at his house. Even then DM lied and said girlfriend, not wife. I doubt he told the suspect anything about a girlfriend/wife via email. 2) If she did know he had a girlfriend/wife, it's unlikely she could figure out which contact was DM's wife in his phone. 3) It makes no sense whatsoever for the suspect to send a text saying he'll be home in an hour because that will just cause the wife to expect him sooner. Sending a text prolonging how long he'll be away from home would make more sense. 4) I believe LE established the text was sent to his wife a few minutes before the suspect arrived.
