It just seems all the evidence we know of suggests he buried her in the park. So how deep of a hole can someone his age dig in 2hrs?

My other thought is that maybe he planned to bury her, but it was too much work, or people were around and he thought it looked too suspicious walking into the trees with a giant garbage bag and a shovel. :yow:

Maybe he just put her in a dumpster? I sure hope they are segregating that garbage. . .but so much time has passed! :banghead:

I believe it was reported that trash bins at the park were being searched (today? Yesterday?)

But... I would imagine those trash receptacles would have been emptied and taken to the refuse station by now...

I wonder if the city "dump" has been searched, as well...

:waitasec:

What exactly is going on with the grand jury? Is it possible that Shamika is being held somewhere?

If she were, would she have access to internet? The reason I ask is because she's been active on SM within the last 18 hours. Do you think maybe LE has her somewhere to keep her safe from the public?

Maybe her and step-dad took off somewhere to hide out? As clueless as she seems to be, on so many levels, I guess it's possible she may have somehow realized that perhaps she's not safe from the public and got out of dodge.

:dunno: I'm just thinking out loud here. Seems strange that she's not been at the shelter for days (if I read that correctly upthread somewhere). If they've been homeless all this time, and it seems she may not have many allies left among her peers and family... where did they go??

Awesome. Good Luck :seeya:

Thank You Bravo!

Before I catch up on this sad case. I didn't win ,but had a great time. Went to the casino bar to see how much a 7 & diet coke was, I balked at the cost. Some guy was standing there, slapped the money down and said give the lady what she wants and walked away.

I'm really behind reading now.:seeya:

What if he wasn't burying her body in the park?

What other place is there that is close enough, since we think it may have been cell phone
pings that lead LE to the park in the first place.
Any other place else he could have been able to dig a grave unseen?

Are there abandoned properties or empty buildings that have a dirt floor near by?

Long shots but they have been searching for 6 days now and haven't found her.

I know this is awful. . .but I take a little pleasure in thinking of Tatum stuck in that storage shed sweating it out with LE just outside searching the park. I hope he suffered.

I agree with you but you know he didn't suffer enough. We don't even know Relisha's fate but I know he did not suffer nearly enough !

That was so nice of him. Your on a roll of good luck and kindness :seeya:

One of the things Chief Lanier mentioned today was that abandoned houses/buildings near the park were also being searched.

BBM

But are we confident that's really her? :dunno:

What if he was planning on burying his wife in the park? He could have dumped Relisha's body in the hotel garbage bins? :notgood:

Relisha's mother asked Tatum to care for daughter

Shamika Young asks Kahlil Malik Tatum, a janitor at the homeless shelter at the old D.C. General Hospital, to take her 8-year-old daughter, Relisha Rudd, home with him. It is the last time she sees her daughter. Later that day, Tatum and Relisha are seen walking toward a room in a Holiday Inn Express on Bladensburg Road NE, side by side holding bags and entering a room."

Last day Relisha is seen alive, according to D.C. police.

D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said there is no confirmed sightings of Tatum and Relisha together after March 1, and no sightings of Relisha at all after that date.

This case magnifies every single flaw in this nation's welfare system. No one keeping track of this little girl or the activities of her mother, father, or mother's boyfriend. It just proves to me that no matter how much opportunity (free public education, housing assistance, WIC, food stamps, free health care) is given to certain parents, it all goes for naught. DSS needs to step in and take away all of her children. This mother chose not to take care of herself or her four children. And these so-called fathers, wtf!!!

I am sick of this. Relisha was put at risk by her own parents. They were offered the same opportunity as every child in the District of Columbia and/or VA and MD. Instead of working hard to get ahead, SY did what so many women do. They chose to do nothing for themselves, their family, or their community.

I knew if I started commenting on this case that it would tear me to pieces and make me so very angry.

In my family, both my child and I have been social workers. Sometimes, the system just makes you want to give up.

My child works in the most dangerous community in Richmond. She isn't burnt out yet. I walked away when I saw how if parents made one effort in 18months, even if it was on the last day possible, they were allowed to retain their parental rights. And, their kids stayed in foster care...in an endless cycle of bouncing around. I started teaching in community dance, theatre and arts programs, instead.

There has to be limits on how many chances a parent gets. There has to be a maximum of assistance offered and then... It's sink or swim. If you just keep taking, then a sense of entitlement invades the spirit.

It just seems really weird to me that a grand jury was brought up and there hasn't been an arrest, as far as we know. How does that work? Isn't someone usually arrested first?

no one is posting to that FB anymore. Someone finally figured out how to lock it down

.@DCPoliceDept Chief: 'She could still be alive, that's why we're still asking for public's help.' Tips still coming in.

Chief Lanier: "We have no information that she has been killed at this point..."

Relisha's moms response....nothing... that I have heard/seen.

She's run out of lies, so she hides after he was found dead. Whatever this evil man has done, she was part of it, I have no doubt.:twocents:

But where was Relisha from March 1 to March 20 when he killed his wife? Relisha was not seen at the hotel where his wife was found and they checked in about 10 o'clock on March 19th. Tatum had been showing up to work the whole time, until he took off when he realized the social worker was on her way to see him at the shelter. From 3/1 to 3/20 is a long time for no one to have seen her.

I was looking at some of the former addresses I had found that his deceased sister once lived (She was married to RSL -- yes the same person who was originally on the Amber Alert) and one place stood out to me. The 400 block of Pond St NE. [I won't post the actual street number on here] but the place is 1/10th of a mile from the entrance to the same park they are currently searching and if the information on Spokeo is correct --- someone listed as lived/living at that same address has a last name that matches another family name in Tatum's family.
It doesn't list the first name so I can't check to be sure that it is the same family.

There is quite a bit of open space behind those homes on that street and there is an alley that goes behind them.

Sadly, I do think Tatum may have sold Relisha to the highest bidder or simply procured her for someone else. The sheer number of motels, people at the motels, and vehicles just screams trafficking. This feels very organized and it seems he needed money. I hope to high heaven that they immediately run his DNA through CODIS.

Ugh I hate to say this, but could he have pre-dug it over time( a few days? Sorry

I agree. I hope LE is searching around Richmond. I think it's telling that when KLT realized LE was involved, he took the trip to Richmond. Something/someone important is there.
