I respectfully disagree. There were some posters who tried to explore why DW came back to DC and whether there it was significant, but it devolved into a bunch of shouting on the side of, "that's far from the crime scene and it is not significant other than he wanted help from his brother". I also think it's worth wondering why he came back to DC. I do not believe it was because he was turning himself in. I don't believe it.

Oh I agree- he wasn't going to turn himself in at all.

Right now my only theory on why he came back is because he's not that bright. Criminals are not that bright- eventually their number gets punched. They all get caught.

GOOD theory! I'll also raise you by a: theoretical "jw may have not been involved in armageddon, but DW enacted it when he realized JW already took his cut, whereas DW said something like '40k dropped off and after the signal we'll meet and split it'" (all speculation of course)

DW possibly wanted all of it and was going to split before giving accomplice a cut in typical criminal fashion? So he went nuclear when he got hosed instead? MOO of couse!

Hence JW's tears on phone to AIW fellow were real! "..didn't plan Armageddon, but DW enacted..." Good one! JW had a big plan, but a neat non-violent one and before the entire could unfold, DW goes postal.

Theories are great to while the time away until we get facts. Think we will get anything soon?

I am looking forward to seeing what the return of JW's BMW search warrant turned up/ or down. We shall see- nothing Available as of now. Waiting is not easy for any of us.

You might be thinking of this:

“We are aware of the connections between the two men,” a law enforcement official involved in the investigation said.

http://www.nate-thayer.com/race-car...ect-in-washington-savopoulos-murder-whodunit/
As reported by Nate Thayer. Thayer does not give us any context. Had he shown the "law enforcement official" his maps and the source meant "we know at one time his dad lived in the same apt. complex where later DW lived thousands of feet away? Is that the "connections," plural because two apartments or two households.
It does intrigue. In fact if connections do exist beyond the possibility they might have had some fleeting and tangential ties to the same apt. complex at one time, we'd really have a story!
Thayer might be alluding to it. So close and yet so far sigh.

We do not know what LE's conviction about JW or anyone else is right now. Media continues to say LE is suspicious of him. LE can certainly publicly clear him anytime they would like with a simple statement--"At this time we find no reason to......"
I have questions that lead me to answers that tend to be exculpatory: If he's involved why leave a trail of pictures of the Savopoulos's car collection, bragging about his nearness to material possessions, go on about needing money to fulfill his dreams? Why does he have no history of theft, and certainly none of violence? And on and on.

But I could raise questions about behaviors I simply do not understand in the context of what was going on. He was supposed to have dropped off a large amount of money to his boss who has a full plate and couldn't get down to the bank himself. The Dojo is opening soon. While on an errand for boss, boss phones. Why not pick it up? Why not as soon as he can, get to better reception and call him back to see if he needs help with something or if something is wrong.

One hopes neither his life nor NG or F's life or Wint's bro's life will be destroyed forever by suspicion if these are utterly unfounded. One hopes nonsensical rumors and the jealousy about the Savopolous's on the internet will die down.

I am not sure Mr. Flick has not been unfairly mocked.

Most of all, may those who grieve find loving arms surround them.

I agree, some statements should be made to clear things up quickly, and at this point it looks like they are fumbling if they don't give out some information about the progress of the investigation. Noone should have unfair clouds of suspicion hanging over their heads.

And I think in speculation about any possible angle in this (at least for me) is just everyone trying to figure out how the perpetrator(s) of this horrible crime can be brought to justice as quickly as possible so those who grieve can know such terrible evil will never hurt anyone else ever again.

I don't even know what their pain is like.

I sure hope we get some facts soon. I really hope they have it all figured out.

If you used that at a closing statement to a jury. Wether innocent or guilty; JW would be going down.

That is a great and possible theory.

Now you have to tie in the reason for having the mosler registration papers since the jury is looking for the nail in the coffin.

He was going to press it between the pages of a book of poetry and then give it to his GF as a symbol of his undying love. He was going to say "With this Mosler registration I thee pledge my troth."

OK seriously. He was going to doctor the reg. and then use it to produce a counterfeit title. A buyer with ROC was in town to pick the Mosler up and ship it out in parts, but backed out at the last minute because, uh, because... I rest my case, your honor.

This is my first post here. I had trouble finding the latest place to post ie most recent. I am not sure where to post this or if this specifically been addressed. I just joined this excellent group. The Daily Mail UK last week released Savvas' voicemail to Gutierrez the long time housekeeper. In this voicemail he states Vera decided to stay ...*

Anyway my 2 cents on this is Wint started this before 3pm when Vera was scheduled to go home. Vera and Phillip were probably alone so more easily overtaken. I remember some article stating Amy was called home quickly cause Phillip was sick, (the rouse to get Amy home)... hence the Porsche parked on the street.*

I read in another place that Amy called Savvas at the martial arts studio stating she was going out and he needed to come home and watch Phillip. So that is how Wint got Savvas home.*

This could all be possible even with Wint acting alone. He ate the pizza in the room that held Savvas, Amy and Vera.*

We know Phillip was held in his room, alone, which I believe was the room next to wear the adults were held.*

Go listen to this second recording just released. Close your eyes and listen carefully to Phillip in the background (probably alone in his room cause he is not stopped from shouting out) ...*

I think Wint is holding the phone to Savvas mouth as he leaves the voicemail for Gutierrez. Listen as Savvas states "Amy is in bed ...." Phillip screaming "No she isn't".*

This breaks my heart that this voicemail message was listened to too late and not acted on. I can't stop weeping about what horror this boy

This is haunting me. Has this already been discussed. If.so, how can I find it.

I posted my concerns on a different site to no avail. Forgive me if this is not how to get involved on Websleuths.

Thank you.

Great post and welcome! I still can't bear to listen to the VM. The thought of a child suffering- my own or anyone else's is just something that makes my heart drop.

Quadruple homicide suspect in D.C. retains immigration specialist
By Andrea Noble - The Washington Times - Tuesday, June 16, 2015

"The lone suspect arrested in connection with a quadruple homicide in D.C. has hired a defense attorney specializing in immigration issues after the federal government flagged him for potential deportation."

*

"Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement previously confirmed that Mr. Wint, who is a citizen of Guyana, could face deportation from the United States if he is convicted."

*

"Mr. Hanover said although Mr. Wint is a lawful permanent resident, he could face deportation on account of the murder charge and said immigration specialist would be advising his client to keep him apprised of his rights.

“Any consequences to any actions of this case are considered in light of immigration law,” Mr. Hanover said following the hearing."

*

"Mr. Hanover said he wasn’t able to speak about the details of the case as he had just been appointed but did say his client felt “encouraged about the case.”

“He feels good that justice will be served in the matter,” Mr. Hanover said."

How right you are! "Not that bright" in a big way. Stealing a car from the scene of four brutal murders (where you left your DNA) and torching it .25 mi from your sister's house where you'd been staying?

Big case for a starter lawyer. :/

Savvas Savopoulos had called the assistant at 11:54 a.m. — the last incoming or outgoing call he made or answered before the fire.

Nothing about an unanswered call.
It is here but Nate Thayer doesn't reveal his source.

Security cameras show Wallace was at a hardware store near a martial arts studio owned by Savopoulos in Chantilly, Virginia from 11:30 A.M until noon.
Savopoulos called Wallace at 11:54 a.m on Thursday, May 14, but the call was not answered, records show. It was the last incoming or outgoing call Savopoulos made or answered before the fire and his murder, which police say occurred sometime between noon and 1:24 P.M Thursday, when Washington emergency personnel were dispatched after reports of a house fire.

my Husb. (profession: LE) just said if convicted of charges he would face whatever sentence HERE first. Then be deported. (But added if convicted of the charges as of right now, he'll never be getting out)

True. But can it be considered well groomed? W3 claims driver of Porsche had "short well-groomed hair" implying the hair was obviously clean and neat. In my mind I'm picturing a man with either a short hair cut or one that is close to the scalp. A man who obviously has a tidy pleasing appearance, meticulously neat . It would be interesting if a juror would consider dreads (pulled back into a ponytail) as short and well-groomed?

I found this photo DDW on the Daily Mail and also on heavy.com. It says it is DDW who also goes by Steffon. No date on photo...hair appears short to me.

Seems very naive for a LE official to say that, because of all people LE has to know that witnesses lie.
Some people even falsely confess to crimes they don't committ.
Some witnesses do lie. They have a motive to. What would JW's motive be? And why about those particular details? Could be an explanation that will make sense and not be related to his covering up his role in a crime.
As far as false confession, it does not appear that LE was trying to break him down, smacking him with rubber hoses, keeping him without bathroom privileges under a big hot light for twenty hours, and he is not a nut-case in need of attention.
We aren't dealing with a false confession. I don't believe he was accused of a crime, just questioned about dropping off money.

SERIOUSLY. It's a career maker.

IMO, it is possible to explain away every weirdness in this case to come to the conclusion that DW and an unnamed accomplice or two or three committed this crime simply for the cash, but it gets hard when they are taken all together.

1) JW takes a picture of some or all of the money. Innocent explanation: Has never seen that much money in one place and thinks it's cool. Guilty explanation: Has never seen that much money in one place and is excited to have it.

2) JW lies about when he was told to pick up the "package," and where to pick it up. Innocent explanation: rattled. Guilty explanation: Doesn't want to raise something important about the crime's timeline, namely that the crime started on Wed. not Thurs.

3) JW lies about the money being in an envelope when he receives it, then changes his story to say he had a manilla envelope in his car that he placed the bundles of money in before he leaves it. Innocent: Rattled. Guilty: Does not want to produce the "red-lined" bag for some reason and does not want to have to explain why he brought along a manilla envelope.

4) JW does not answer a phone call from SS at 11:54 despite that he has dropped off a large sum at SS's house. Innocent: He was shopping for the dojo and didn't hear his phone and/or did not have good reception at Lowes. Guilty: It's simply a signal or there to produce an alibi.

5) JW heads back to the scene when the house is burning down. Innocent: He wants to help. Guilty: He wants to be visibly shocked at the scene and/or can't believe the house is burning since that was not part of the plan.

6) Porche is torched near JW's father's house. Innocent: Random/DW also didn't live far away and their proximity is random and may not have been contemporaneous. Guilty: Burn the car and high tail it out of there to dad's, comfort with the area, could easily pick up one of the 'team members'.

7) The Mosler's expired registration is in JW's car. Innocent: He wants it because the Mosler is cool. Guilty: He wants to use it to doctor a registration for the Mosler.

8) DW flees to Brooklyn, 225 miles away from the scene, and then flees back to the scene. Just cash: DW is unaware that he is putting himself in danger of being caught by coming back to a place where everyone is looking for him. More to the story: He is coming back to get something that was too bulky to take with him to NY.

9) DW is found with an entourage in two vehicles, including a rolling garage. Just cash: He used whatever vehicles were at his disposal, and someone who works at Amerit agreed to join the caravan. Something more: He wanted to move something big and/or had a vehicle stashed someplace that needed to be dismantled or serviced.

Have we heard anything about the Bentley?

http://www.nate-thayer.com/race-car-driver-linked-to-suspect-in-washington-savopoulos-murder-whodunit/

Translation IMO: we're aware the two men's fathers (no proof either DW or JW) may possibly have lived two blocks apart in sprawling apartment complexes over a decade ago....

Washington Post
Wallace has not been charged with a crime, and court documents do not name him as a suspect.

I don't like this guy.

Here is the top part of his LinkedIn page:

If this is accurate, and for discussions sake, I'm going to assume it is, then it is another area that points to suspicion. JW is employed as a driver. He should have checked his phone as soon as he left that store, because it is still a work day and SS could call at any time and ask...the man he is paying as a DRIVER...to actually drive him somewhere. The call came only 5 minutes before he left the store. Five minutes!

A driver that is not reachable is useless to have on the payroll. Prompt return of calls is key. Even if SS has told him he won't need him....if he calls, he should get a prompt return.

Then, when he supposedly hears about the fire...why when he sees SS has called HIM...why isn't he calling SS back and leaving a message for him...like "Hey, Boss, where are you? I see I missed your call and now they are saying your house us in fire!"

For all he knows, SS could be at the hospital with Amy, or at an art gallery picking up some painting or anywhere needing to get to that scene of the fire.

But he calls AS instead.

Imo, it is suspicious
