Maybe its the lack of prints which is interesting to LE
On a car key
Maybe thats why they are questioning locked versus unlocked

He already admitted lying about that. So far his troubles are police probably have not accounted for where the entire 40k has gone/spent and if police believe him.

I don't want to believe W1 is involved. I'm still thinking about that photo sent to his GF. I'm thinking this points more to his innocence than to his involvement in the crime. While I don't know anything about GF, most girlfriends don't want a boyfriend who is involved with crime. The photo of the cash might have been sent to impress her, but I don't think a big heist would impress a girlfriend. And I REALLY don't think the girlfriend would be impressed with kidnapping, torture, and murder.

We don't know how LE found the GF.

The other question about W1 is WHY WHY WHY lie to the police? And what's the big deal about the locked vs. unlocked car? I don't get it the significance and why he would lie about it.

At this point, my guess is that Wint and one other person were in the house and that no one else was involved, but others in Wint's circle perhaps knew about it.

I don't see Wint as someone W1 would be remotely interested in.

JMO, total speculation, completely open to changing my mind later.

I can't imagine a girlfriend being interested in a criminal, but have you looked at DW's facebook page. Appears he had at least one girlfriend.

I am not sure why you think that he set up some elaborate photo shoot with this money?? You must be aware that taking a picture with an iPhone takes about 5 seconds, right? It could have been taken while sitting at a red light.

That is because I don't think it was an elaborate photo shoot. That he does these pictures means he doesn't just follow orders and that's he's not just focused on the tasks assigned to him by his boss unless you think his boss told him to be taking pictures of his cars and posting them on social media.

I just noticed this, but this seems to be saying that the garage doors were open when NF's husband was there:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...e-cell-phone-call-inside-saying-wife-out.html
Maybe LE thinks JW would have to be insane to leave $40K in cash in an unlocked $700K car sitting right there in an open garage where gardeners, dog walkers, housekeepers or anyone else could do a snatch-and-grab...if SS said he was on the phone and would get it after he was off the phone would be a very good reason to stick around for a few minutes to be sure that nobody snatched it from the open garage before SS got it, so that he didn't end up fired and arrested for grand theft. I really would like to know what cars were found on the scene and what car JW was driving when doing the drop-off. If NF's husband saw only three cars, that could mean that one or more other cars were in use transporting stuff from the house.

I thought LE was most interested in whether the car was locked or not when W1 arrived to drop off the money. The reason that matters is why LE cares - is the key missing, so if it was locked, W1 would have had to open it and possibly took the key?

All I know is that I wish that SS had never hired W1. It bothers me thinking of all the stuff he posted online.

W1 was instructed to put the cash in a Manila envelope which would be on the seat of the mosler waiting for him

Ok, not sure if this is significant, but the charging affidavit says that W1's final version was that SS instructed him to leave the money in the car (it does not say that SS told him to put the $$ in a manila envelope that would be in the car). The affidavit goes on to say that W1 placed the $$ inside a manila envelope that was in JW's car and left it on the front seat of SS's car.

I don't know the significance of this (if any) and haven't been able to figure out all the possibilities re the red bag, manila envelope and the locked/unlocked car!!

Seems this red bag is a big deal...couldn't it be as simple as he wanted to keep his red bag, so he put the money in the envelope instead? Or maybe I am not following this whole red bag thing.

And as far as the locked/unlocked car thing. My feeling - and of course it is just that - he said the car was locked, because at the time he might have only known the money was missing from the car. He didn't know the whole story - maybe just that his boss and family were killed and the house set on fire. He didn't really know what the money was for.

So if he tells them he locked the car, then he can't be blamed for leaving the money in an unlocked car??

I don't see these lies as significant. Maybe I am missing something...

BBM

I think he put the money in the red bag ONLY because it would look cool in the photo to have the money in his own bag. I don't think the red bag has any other significance.

He lied about the red bag because he didn't want to admit how stupid it was to move the money in the bag just to take a photo to impress his girlfriend

I think you might be right about the locked vs. unlocked thing. He might have tried to say he was careful with the money drop by making sure it was in a locked car. Could be.

JMO, subject to change at any moment.

Something else I keep thinking about...

So many are calling him indiscreet, violating his boss, etc.

Either Phillip or Amy (or both) were friends with JW on Facebook. I know I saw it when this all first came about.

So all of his pictures about being in "his office, the boss's car" etc were known by the family. Some here have turned them into sinister photos...I just don't see them that way. He was saying how awesome it was to have the job he has. He wasn't hurting the family by doing that. He certainly wasn't hiding it from them!!!

This is a person that was "new" in the life of this family, a family that is now deceased after this person has entered their life. Makes him suspect. Not saying he's involved, but it requires looking at him a lil more closely. Yes, he may have been "friends" but some "friends" beneath the surface are the enemy. If someone was controlling this behind the scenes was JW possibly "hired" in order to get close to the S family - using him to get details on their daily activities?

We still don't know the details as to why he was fired from the speedway. Was it on purpose in order to set it up so SS could hire him? Maybe "cry" on SS's shoulder that he had been fired & now needed a job. SS was known to help others so he could have reasonably hired JW. This is all my theory.

The murders of the S family is something that I feel was planned for awhile and they were just waiting for the right "moment" to set it into motion. Time and evidence will reveal the truth about JW. Hopefully he's not involved and was just a show off about the cars/$$$ ... we shall see

True, but I'm guessing the type of girl W1 dates is different than the type of girl Wint dates. JMO.

Lots of women love bad boys. And DW qualifies as a BB. And women have done crazy stuff in the name of "love".
And about women- the most violent fight I witnessed while teaching in a very poor area was between two sisters. I had to call the police and EMTs. One sister was wearing the other's shirt without her permission. Required hospitalization and this was in junior HS. Women can be as evil and cruel as men.

I believe one of his accomplices is a female, with one gigantic handbag (I could put 6 rolls of duct tape, 6 pairs of work gloves and a lot more in mine) And she, too, will have a rap sheet. Birds of a feather...

Maybe they fancied themselves as Bonnie and Clyde...

Before it was all deleted, there was a post on one of his SM accounts. I can't even remember now if it was a video or a photo. But someone commented "You're on the wrong side of the fence", meaning he should be racing instead of watching. W1 replied something like, "Yeah, but it's okay because I have something big coming up." It gives me the creeps just thinking about it. I wish I hadn't closed the window. I'll keep looking to see if it's cached somewhere. If anyone else knows where to find it, please let me know. I want to see if it's as ominous looking as I remember.

Even if members of the S family were aware of JW behavior and approved and/or tolerated it, I still feel it was inappropriate. I remember the posts about "blurred lines" between employers/employees and employees' job descriptions/duties. I feel there had to be many better choices for this job than JW. Guilty of anything criminal or not, seems to have no tact, discretion or common sense. IMO.

Posts are getting confused.

DW had girlfriends who knew about his crimes.

The question is about W1's girlfriend and the photo he sent her. I don't think W1 sent the photo to his girlfriend to signal "robbery in progress" as is one theory being suggested. I could be wrong, but my hunch is that W1 is not dating someone who would be impressed with crime.

But yes, there are women who are into violence and crime. I just don't think W1 was dating any of them.

JMO

If W1 was involved... There would be know need for him to drop the money at the house. And... He couldn't be so STUPID as to take picture of the money if he really was involved. Right?

I think he was talking about the 2 cars in the driveway...not the garage. They were in front of the garage. If the garage was open, he would have said 3 or 4 cars. Not just 2.

If he was misquoted, why do you think LE is taking issue over whether or not the Mosler was locked, if it was inside a garage? I don't see what the big deal is that the car was unlocked if it was in a closed garage.

I thought that too... Until DDW had the box truck in his ENTOURAGE. Then... (Plus the fact that $40.000 isn't a lot of. Money) the many fancy cars seem to fit.

ADMIN NOTE: The victims are not on trial here. Do NOT sleuth their surviving family members, nor post opinions which implicate the victims by their actions/behavior, UNLESS so indicated by LE.

Thanks.

There have been multiple warnings not to sleuth family members, yet it seems to still be happening.

Continuing to do so may result in the loss of posting privileges.

Please take a moment to review the rules:

Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE.

Additionally, sleuthing family members or others that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members or others cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

Thank you

The posts on this thread are extremely interesting and insightful!

I am very curious as to when and who rented that box truck. It could be that the person who was supposed to bring the box truck to the house didn't and then perhaps whomever was in the house went into a homicidal rage as the plans had been ruined?

Well LE certainly knows more about the red bag with money than we do. In the charging docs, it says "...the text contained dialogue and photos of a red lined bag..."

So that's "photos" - plural. And dialogue.
The dialogue would sure be handy to figure out why he sent it to his gf.

I am new here......but have lurked for quite a while. Each night, I come on here hoping to read an update that "explains" all this....

This crime haunts my dreams :-( and my heart breaks for all this suffering.....and those poor daughters....
