I'm really REALLY hoping that JSS also orders restitution to the family in addition to her LWOP sentence (she can do that). We got that (although not one dime but still....) and I've been advising the family to go for it with her.

(we had to list funeral expenses, lost wages etc for restitution).

This would all be OFF THE TOP before any civil suit.

And the thing is, Jodi actually had the money to be able to do so, pay restitution. The question is will they ever see a cent of it or will Jodi be able to successfully move it around for years?

I would like to see if she can maintain indigency while simultaneously hiring an appellate lawyer. That'd be a trick.. If she even can even afford it. They are incredibly expensive. Even her art money might not cover it.

Also, Jodi wants a fancy appellate attorney, which she believes is the key to her freedom as opposed to a public defender. She doesn't want to have to give that money back to the state and she doesn't want to have to give the money to the Alexanders. But if she is claiming indigency with $30,000+ somewhere then she should be ordered to pay the Alexanders and give the rest to the state and take her public defender like everyone else.

You are not special Jodi.

BBM--Ok so she spends approximately $100 dollars a week on commissary and this doesn't call into question claims of "indigency"...what an absolute farce.

BBM2--Nope, she most certainly is not, now if only the court system would agree with this truth and act accordingly. Sad that the only person that has held accountable and treated Travis' murderer as just that, a manipulative convict who brutally murdered someone, is Joe Arpaio.

I want to guess that JM's boss was sitting there to keep up with what was going on. If JM suddenly had to have a leave of absence someone would have to take over for him. I might imagine that would be his boss. AZL might be able to help us with that.

Was that during the time Det Flores was on bereavement leave?

On Mr. Shutz' presence during retrial: He has been there a lot!!! Not just during Flores' absence. In fact, during jury selection when JSS asked the potential jurors if they knew any of the counsel associated with the case, Mr. Shutz, as did Juan and Flores, stood up faced the jurors and introduced himself. Therefore, he has been there since the very beginning of the retrial.

LOL That reminds me of stupid Nurmi at that point. On discovering that the DA's office had two interns also present, he mumbled to JSS that the DT should be allowed to have some next time. What an idiot!

Ok I do believe I have permission to post this here as this has a direct relationship to the discussion at hand. My opinions on Juror 17 given the new information coming out. And since I get tens of thousands of views on my blog when I post, including to players involved in the case who have contacted me, I will continue to use it as a venue to promote my opinions as they relate to justice for VICTIMS everywhere, especially in my own back yard.

Oh my, what a fabulous article!!! LOL, at you'd be a great pick for foreperson and completely biased, I love it!

:seeya:

She should have been fired for saying something like that ! But wait, this is JSS's courtroom :gaah:

Totally and completely unprofessional -- and she should NOT make comments like that about any prosecutor and/or attorney -- no one !

She is supposed to be UNBIASED !

I tell ya, now with this little nugget of info, things are starting to make sense ...

Not only was the defense team up to shenanigans, but it sounds like someone else had an agenda as well, which I have said all along ...

MOO and :moo:

I am wide awake now :) But back to lurking ...

:seeya: Good Night, Y'all ... Check back in the morning for some more nuggets !

Lol! It takes us a while to put all the pieces together and figure out what's really going on... It is always difficult to make SENSE of NONSENSE!!

But now think about this, a Narcisstic Sociopath, like CMJA, has a keen sense when it comes to figuring out people's weaknesses and being able to use those weaknesses to her advantage. They are like a wizard when it comes to being able to use those things to cause chaos and confusion in order to get what they want.

Whenever a Narcisstic Sociopath is involved there is lots of chaos and confusion, it is hard to make sense of ANYTHING!! It is also extremely hard to pinpoint who the bad guys are and what their intentions are.

UNLESS we keep reminding ourselves that there is a Narcisstic Sociopath involved, we will drive ourselves crazy trying to make sense of it all!! (Which is actually exactly wht the Narcissistic Sociopath wants!!)

A narcissist sociopath can even get people to behave and do things that are outside their normal character...

I'm not condoning ANY bad behavior of MDLR, the judicial assistant, or anyone... My only point in saying this is just to help us wrap our minds around what's really going on!

Confirmed, I guess:

Well we've never seen a cent of it directed to us but still, it was the point that it's on the record. I'm sure if I wanted to, I could look in to the one who was released from DR and if he's making any money in prison now that he's in general pop but I'd just rather forget about him forever at this point. In this case though, personally, I'd like to see the Alexanders get some of her murder-earned money NOW because a. they could use it and b. they deserve it and c. it would be a slap in her nasty face (and hers).

Do any of you fine AZ folks know whether or not the reported interview with J17 will be airing online as well?

Also, I noticed in some of the retrial videos we are able to hear the sidebars but not in others, is there a reason for this inconsistency? TIA

Chris Williams was the reporter from Ch 12 covering the first part of the trial and quite involved with setting up the Brewer interview w/ Kiefer who's one of his pals and that's all I'll say about that. I will be watching/listening to this interview with eyes/ears wide open. It's possible a lengthier less edited version might appear on AZcentral, that is if Kiefer is involved and there is more he'd like to propogate errrr...report. Rather "report". Ok I'll say it "skew". Not to mention "spin".

Since they are linking azcentral to the interview and it's a website I think we could assume they will post it on their site as well. I'll record it just in case. :) On the sidebars, no idea!

And some people wonder why it is hard to let this case go.

It seems every day we learn of something new that seems to indicate this entire trial from start to finish has been totally unfair to the Prosecution side of things.

Travis and Juan never had a chance.
-Not from Jodi
-Not from the 1st jury (one of them)
-Not from the 2nd sentencing-phase jury (one of them)
-Not from the defense hired specialists
-Not from the judge herself with her worrying about appeals so much it made her make poor decisions (for example - breaking the constitution, sidebars a-la-mode, etc)
-And now it seems maybe not even from one of the judicial assistants either.

Sure, some could be just rumors but where there is smoke there is fire. Way too much circumstantial evidence to declare everything just a rumor.

The bottom line is this entire trial has not been fair to Travis and the Prosecution. And that is a travesty of justice.

IMO, I will settle for a LWOP sentence but I sure am not happy about how things went down in this trial. From start to finish, it has been a disaster. Financially and otherwise.
All JMO of course.

IMO, this is a very important post! What I find so upsetting is that we are finding out so much unethical & perhaps illegal things that have been going on since the first trial! It shouldn't surprise us, as we were questioning things way back when. I think it's awful that so much was going on & we are finding things that are confirmed NOW. After everything is done. Why weren't things taken care of at the time? Why was so much nefarious things allowed to happen during both trials?
Look at it this way, I know if such things were going on in places of other businesses, persons would be fired! I know people have been fired for less that what was going on in this court system!!! What the heck has happened?

Any hints?

NO!! I wish I knew more .. just a few accounts that a lot of us follow for updates hinting away about some story or other, maybe some of them furnished media with screencaps and are vying for the person who gave them the scoop, that's the impression I'm getting.
