IMO, this is a very important post! What I find so upsetting is that we are finding out so much unethical & perhaps illegal things that have been going on since the first trial! It shouldn't surprise us, as we were questioning things way back when. I think it's awful that so much was going on & we are finding things that are confirmed NOW. After everything is done. Why weren't things taken care of at the time? Why was so much nefarious things allowed to happen during both trials?
Look at it this way, I know if such things were going on in places of other businesses, persons would be fired! I know people have been fired for less that what was going on in this court system!!! What the heck has happened?

Both you Miss Haley, and Hatfield with her original post, underscore the very reason that a COMMON MURDERER should not be afforded the right to secrecy in any way, shape, or form. This special privilege of secrecy and placing things under seal was condoned solely by JSS and I hold her completely responsible for this error. All of this information that had to be paid for or "leaked" should have NEVER been anything but open for public consumption and scrutiny at the time these things occurred.

Allowing secrecy should be reserved for matters of National Security PERIOD.

MrsG and voir dire video watchers:

By court's end on October 7, 45 jurors, including #17, were deemed death qualified after individual voir dire. Their questionnaires were sealed.

Those 45 were the pool entering on October 8 who were subject to strike by counsel. Each side had 10 strikes. That process was conducted behind closed doors.

Ok I do believe I have permission to post this here as this has a direct relationship to the discussion at hand. My opinions on Juror 17 given the new information coming out. And since I get tens of thousands of views on my blog when I post, including to players involved in the case who have contacted me, I will continue to use it as a venue to promote my opinions as they relate to justice for VICTIMS everywhere, especially in my own back yard.

Thanks for this info Hope.

BBM--Of course it was!!!:banghead::pullhair::furious:

And some people wonder why it is hard to let this case go.

It seems every day we learn of something new that seems to indicate this entire trial from start to finish has been totally unfair to the Prosecution side of things.

Travis and Juan never had a chance.
-Not from Jodi
-Not from the 1st jury (one of them)
-Not from the 2nd sentencing-phase jury (one of them)
-Not from the defense hired specialists
-Not from the judge herself with her worrying about appeals so much it made her make poor decisions (for example - breaking the constitution, sidebars a-la-mode, etc)
-And now it seems maybe not even from one of the judicial assistants either.

Sure, some could be just rumors but where there is smoke there is fire. Way too much circumstantial evidence to declare everything just a rumor.

The bottom line is this entire trial has not been fair to Travis and the Prosecution. And that is a travesty of justice.

IMO, I will settle for a LWOP sentence but I sure am not happy about how things went down in this trial. From start to finish, it has been a disaster. Financially and otherwise.
All JMO of course.

I hope that all of this (illegal/wrong doing orchestrated by JA and/or DT) won't try to be used by CMJA to try and get everything thrown out/Mistrial so she can start over with a new trial!!

Is that even possible??!!

I just got caught up on everything that's come to light since Friday and all I can say is holy carp! Enough with all the secrecy. Tear the lid off all of it! Investigate them all! :gaah:

FIGURES!!!!

Thanks, Hope.

ETA: I can understand the questionnaires being sealed - personal information and all ... but the strike session behind closed doors - wrong!

So at this point they have aired one day of these more in depth interviews...Oct. 7 part 1 the question seems to surround death penalty...clearly getting 12 people that are going to give dp even if warranted is tough...the fact that JM got 11 maybe does not constitute a "win" but really a major feat as I listen to the interviews...Juror 125 clearly wants to be on this jury and JM has got his number and so does the judge but of course defense willmott wants to keep him on. In every step of this jury selection JSS is 100% on board with JM and frankly has to talk to nurmi/willmott like first year law students.

Mrs. G. or if anyone sees the next installment please post....I also noted that it seems juror 17 is going to do an interview with bad boy hubby...I am finding the timing interesting...just now the juror interview videos are coming out and frankly her comments in the DP are probably next up...and she now is speaking out. I am certain that as a juror she thought nothing could ever come out in the public domain about their deliberations/juror questions and the selection process and now it is all coming out and may not be good for her. Frankly I too thought that jurors had more protection than what is happening here but I'm sure they are within legal rights to release this stuff and glad they are.

I am constantly refreshing and have sent a message to the guy so he knows we're all waiting LOL .. I really really really want the rest of Oct 7 too .. god I hope the courthouse released it and we're not going to be shut out because of the juror furor and that's when she was grilled!!!

Correct, this is the gray haired gentleman seated at the prosecution table in the retrial videos--his name is Mr Shutz (sp. ?). He has been in most, if not all, of the retrial videos I have viewed so far. I suspect his presence has something to do with the DT's false allegations of misconduct--what a downright shame that the DT isn't held to same standard that the PT is.
Well Kirk Nurmi's boss probably doesn't care what antics he gets up to .... we can know that by the antics he gets up to. He has no shame.

Does JW still work for the state or is she self employed now also? Does she get the same pay as KN? (have always wondered about that) I'm curious to know if KN is the only person in this whole macabre story who is getting rich.

Brilliant .. that means Oct 7 is definitely the day .. :) If we get it!!

Now that I think about it... I'm wondering if the ONLY reason JA requested a secret trial was to raise everyone's suspicions... To make it seem like she was getting away with something... Which could have been EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS DOING, but NOT necessarily inside that secret trial!!

MAYBE she used that to get everybody looking in one direction to distract them from what was REALLY going on!!

I may be wrong, it could have been just to raise suspicion and cause more chaos and confusion.... But whatever the case may be, one thing I know for SURE is that it was a well thought about and planned out 'move'...

It was a mistrial.

I doubt anything is going to get thrown out.

Willmott got the same pay as Kirk since it was only fair. She also has a private practice with her husband called Willmott & Associates. I don't know if she still works as a public defender though in addition to that.

Hi Hez.

BBM--Damn straight and well said. Put everything out there, place it under a microscope, and let everything be scrutinized. We must ensure that this kind of ***** doesn't become the norm in future DP murder trials, and send a message, loud and clear, that even members of a DT, the Judges, all court staff, and DP qualified jurors, as is the PT, are subject to consequences for any and all misconduct.

She's in practice with her husband

News 12 has a short clip on their twitter page of tonight's interview with J17. She is in shadow, afraid to show her face, and she says " I don't know why everyone hates me, they don't know me".

Yes...yes.. You are right, I'm sorry if my post was confusing.... the sentencing phase was a mistrial.... but the post I was responding to was about "everything from the very start of this trial....", sorry for not making that more clear.

Thanks for sharing this Sedona.

Anyone else experiencing deja vu--Travis' murderer, JW, MM, MDLR, KN, DB, et al...

I'm sorry if this offends as it it is not my intention but FGS is there a special "no personal reponsibility", poor me dictionary out there somewhere that these people are using. I truly hope this is not the "message" of the interview, I would like to see some hard hitting questions and facts brought to light, not a fluff interview.
