Just looked up Elizabeth Ann Schilling (Lisa?) on facebook, who may have been involved in the three way call with Maria and JA. She is CEO of the National Center for Due process. They advocate against the death penalty. On their site there is a post on the day of the verdict talking about the verdict and Juror17. I am shocked. She says the juror MADE HER WAY onto the jury.

Edited to add: you must read her whole post. MARCH 5th and 6th. They are advocating anti death penalty people to be dishonest and get on the jury in death penalty cases so they can hang the jury!

Okay, four blank postcards. Why would the sender leave the other, larger side blank if not for invisible ink supahsecret messages? (just kidding, don't ream me for having fun) Then ja could use the blank sides for art. I'm projecting because that's what I do: all blank surface for me = canvas! :D Having been in a position to not be able to afford art supplies/paper, we creatives will use anything as a surface. Blank postcards would be a godsend. ATC= Artist Trading Cards are business card size works of art that are traded and collected like baseball cards.

As for wanting a letter instead of postcards - I read that ja was only allowed to receive postcards. What's the poop on that?

Sorry, off on tangent, must go create :) :loveyou:

If that is true, my guess would be for the safety of those who must screen jail mail. Maybe they fear there could be contraband that could harm the person opening the envelope.

You can't be too careful in cases where the crazies are drawn like flies to a cowpie.

Amanda Knox's final appeal to the highest Italian court will be this week of April 23. No sure exactly which day or if the verdict will be rendered immediately. Couldn't find an open discussion about this on WS.

About Jodi Arias, why the appeals to postpone the inevitable? All this is doing is costing more. On the other hand, I can see how this is actually good for less appeal issues. Get it all over with now, put the murderer in a cage and tell her to STFU because legally everything has been done. Jodi will try to find appeal issues. What else is there for her to do?

JMO-I supposed finding any and all obscure reasons to delay, postpone keep the DT's paychecks rolling in. On the other hand, you'd think they'd each be kind of ready to move on and deal with new friends. Wouldn't all Arias, all the time get old? :)

I foresee a long visit to a prison psychiatric center and a series of ShockTherapy in Jodi Arias future if she tries that.
JMO-If sentencing happens on the 13th, I predict she'll pull something. I don't think she has any intention of moving that day. I hope the state says, "too bad, get in the van."

Are they trying to get formal sentencing delayed??

1st BBM:

Shares the same birthday with Jodi Arias :jail: and O.J. Simpson :jail: = all 3 were born on July 9.

And ALL their victims were stabbed :gaah:

2nd BBM:

I agree ... no doubt she will try to find appellate issues ...

But it is going to be interesting to see how JSS handles her sentencing and what her actual sentence will be ...

Of course, not counting on anything from JSS ...

:moo: :moo: and another :moo:

According to her contract MDLR should be done.

Duties of Mitigation Specialist
Contractor shall maintain regular contact with the Client as counsel directs until the assignment ends.
Assignment ends at the time the notice of intent to seek the death penalty is withdrawn or dismissed, or the client is sentenced , whichever occurs first.

But her sentancing is not until April 13th. Unfortunately I think MDLR is still on the defense team until that date.

DGC: Gooooooood Stuuuuuuuuf! Eerie coincidences, eh? July 9 stabbies :/

That National Center for JP is Jason Weber's group, just another way for he and his friends to collect $ from JA supporters. They formed this group after JA turned on them and told everyone to only donate via SJ's fund.

I agree, she's not going to go quietly and I'm sure she's plotting non-stop everyday on how to create some kind of impact to get attention or further hurt TA's family. That's all she has to live for now - hurting others any way she can and getting any form of attention, good or bad.

THIS IS THE NATIONAL CENTER DUE PROCESS. Not Jason's group.

Oops! I am wrong. It is Jason's group.

ETA: I agree with you about ja's need to control everything including how and what someone will gift her. Sheesh. Chuckling at how generous she is by giving the giftcard to mdlr. The flip side of this, is that we learn more and more about how involved mdlr is with her client.

BBM

The way I understand it, MCSO made the move to postcards only to cut costs and reduce contraband. There was a big uproar when it started and IIRC, this was the explanation that was given.

The amount of time it takes to process mail was reduced significantly by not having to open envelopes. In addition, there was much less to scan or read, because of the limited writing space on a postcard vs. letters that could be pages long.

The JAII website is down! :happydance:

I hope it's down for good.

Yes, but MK is biased in such a mean-hearted way. It's not like he's throwing out a differing voice on a subject for purposes of discussion. It's not like he's trying to get people to open their minds and see things in more than just black or white. I see varying opinions all the time from people I respect, not for their opinion but for the way they express it.

We had a member on WS in the Caylee forums whose opinion was unpopular, yet that member was highly respected in the forums. That is because their posts got people thinking, and all their posts were very respective of others' opinions. They took a stance that never wavered because it was a stance they truly believed in, and even though I did not agree with much that they said, I thoroughly enjoyed reading their posts because I found them to be well thought out and sincere. Defensive, not offensive.

MK either doesn't have a clue, or he does and just does not care.

Every once in awhile, there is a case that not everyone agrees with or finds problems with the evidence, and all you can do is to try to be respectful to both sides.. But, how can anyone in this case? There is no disputing that Jodi killed Travis. Nothing that could change the way that he was murdered, or how he was murdered. I mean, we practically have the entire crime on video.
Last night I was reading at JAII, and there is a comment that not only is Jodi still covering for the real killers, but, that the real killers lurk on their site, looking for new ideas. , When I finally stopped laughing, I realized they were serious.

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of misinformation here today.

The National Center for Due Process is most definitely Jason Weber's group. He is the President/chair and is the one who submitted the initial filing paperwork.

I respectfully request if people are going to correct things, before doing so, take the time to research and be very certain in your correction.

The Board has flipped all over the place, with a recent change on March 17 with the board now down to only three members. The two constants since formation are Jason Weber and Elizabeth Schilling. This organization was originally incorporated as Jodi Arias Defense Fund.
