I would think that the FBI would have a forensic anthropologist or two who are going over the videos and photographs. These are specialists in knowing about the facial features and characteristics common to the different ethnicities. Knowing this, I would put credence into their listing of the suspects as "white". However, they did not use the term Caucasian. I do not know if the two terms are considered to be the same or not.

And yes, they have the facial recognition software. Which means that none of us should hesitate to send in what we feel may be a legitimate tip. Let them decide if a nose is or is not the same.

I did send a tip in to the FBI earlier today. It was in regard to the Pressure Cooker. And after reading the postings in this thread about the Ralph Lauren golf hat and the Fox back pack, I am glad I did.

My tip to them was that Pressure Cookers are not at all used by the younger generation of cooks today. Unless someone owns one for canning, I doubt that many are used on a very regular basis. But the place where I see them is at my local Goodwill Store or St. Vincent DePaul Society Resale Store. You could sure pick one up cheap there. (New ones are fairly expensive)

Thrift shops are also a place where you see all kinds of brand new baseball hats and golf hats. You very well might run across a variety of backpacks there also.

My suggestion was for them to start checking out thrift shops to see if these two were seen lately purchasing a used pressure cooker. It might possibly be the kind of purchase a clerk would remember.

Lol, I just recently started thinking about buying a pressure cooker. Why? Because I follow lots of food blogs, and believe it or not, it is becoming the newest fad in cooking methods. I just went out looking to buy one a few weeks ago and was astonished at the cost!

Interesting!

I would think that if suspect 1 had a cap from walmart, then pressure cookers would be purchased there too. I figure pressure cookers are en vogue because of popular networks such as Food Network and FoodTV

Also, sus2 looks like he's wearing designer jeans

Not sure if this has been posted before, but if we have images on here of this teen, can they be removed? He's the guy with the blue track jacket from earlier... :(

Teen stunned at portrayal as Boston bombing suspect

REVERE, MASS. A teenager said he is scared to go outside after he was portrayed on the Internet and on the front page of the New York Post as connected to the Boston Marathon bombings.

Photos of Sxxxxxx, 17, and friend Yxxxxx were posted on websites whose users have been scouring marathon finish line photos for suspects. The two were also on the Post's front Thursday with the headline: "Bag men: Feds seek these two pictured at Boston Marathon."

I was just thinking why wouldn't they have been aware that those businesses along that street, would almost certainly or at least more than likely, have cameras in front of the store.

Also, if they were talking on the cell or used a cell to detonate the bombs, it's all over the tv and has been for years (crime shows, news, etc.) that LE can track pings, etc.

The posting to social media for the footprint of an area is new to me. I didn't know about that one until hockeymom brought it up.

Then add to all of that people were taking pictures all over the place and didn't they have cameras filming footage at the finish line?

Pretty unsophisticated. IMHO

IMO - white cap guy especially had no interest in hiding his face. He wore his cap backwards, the bill not shading his face, head held high, slight smile. Take his cap off and cut his curly hair short and you'd never know it was him, if you didn't already know him. He wasn't trying to be stealthy. Terrorists don't necessarily try to hide their identities.

You can buy anything on-line nowdays. Including pressure cookers.

Yes. You can but them at Walmart so no thrift store is necessary.

It doesn't even seem to be that crowded there. I don't get it. And didn't he eventually leave the bag by a mailbox as shown in one of the photos? I wonder if in this pic he set it down for a moment or something and then later put it by the mailbox.

Bag by mailbox was a completely different bag. Likely not related to anything.

NEW IMAGE OF SUSPECT(S) HERE, normal photo, not FBI one.

The behavior certainly seems suspicious and I hope LE is on the right track with these POIs. However, I do recall in other images this guy was seen carrying a backpack over one shoulder, so I personally don't think I could say for sure that he isn't carrying a backpack in this photo due to the camera angle. Hopefully there are additional photos that show him from another angle or walking farther along that side street.

All of the above is just my opinion.

I have not heard this mentioned, but we all can clearly observe:
The first bomb went off near the FLAGS at the finish area.
What were these flags, and what flag was closest to the bomb? Could it be a possible clue?

I have been wondering the same!

Welcome & thanks for posting!!

Now many are electric! Not so dangerous when cooking.

Thing is, the FBI's circumspection in the presser was out of the ordinary. They gave no description of the individual at all really.

They just said, look at these pictures and see if you know this guy or recognize him.

The FBI may well know that that is ST in the pictures, but they don't want to push people in a certain direction (at this point).

And they have been looking for ST for a month now, with, apparently, no luck.

So just put the pictures out there for, say 24-72 hours, see what shakes loose and then come back tomorrow or Monday and say, yes, that's ST but we still don't know where he's at.

Also, by not confirming immediately that that is ST, they might catch ST off-guard a bit. Give him a little more sense of security than he should have ("ha, they don't suspect me!") , and thus more likely to be spotted somewhere.

Wait, what?

I realize all the photographic evidence has not been released but suspect 1 was wearing the sunglasses. Suspect 2, who had on the black coat and hoodie, we have not seen wearing sunglasses.

Curious.

I was thinking the same. Very strange
