Has anyone been listening to the scanner on this case? I know we can't discuss it here, but was wondering if there was even anyone listening/ transcribing.

Im guessing thats the mugshot? He shaved, probably so he wasn't recognized. Thats him, though, with the square ears. His head makes him look like he is much stockier. Then, when you see a whole body picture, he is pretty small. With his shaving and people probably thinking he was bigger, it is very lucky that we had a perceptive community member who recognized him.

Nasty pedophile. Where is she??????????????

Quite a change..

I cant wrap my head around him telling LE he tossed the phone. Nobody tosses a phone for good reasons. Certainly glad he did. I cant think of one plausible explanation he could give LE for doing so. If he even gave one. One would think he might at least say he lost it. Bizarre. With all the water he passed I am amazed he didn't try to destroy the phone and dump it in the water right after he took Diana. I'm grateful he is just not that smart. IMO

I don't think that Vine pic is him...The nose and ears don't look the same

Well, looking again maybe the Vine pic is him...The eyebrows look the same and it is taken at a more upward angle while the other two are more straight-on, which could change the look of the nose and ears....Soooo...idk

We've finally reached that uncomfortable crossroad that happens in a whole lot of these cases. LE is conducting searches on their own, with their own manpower, and excluding the public. While I do believe they are searching in the right area based on the phone pings, it is a huge area with many different places a vehicle could travel and park for a few hours. A five mile radius around the closest cell tower would encompass an area the size of a small city. A ten mile radius would encompass an area the size of a huge city.

While I do realize the importance of protecting the crime scene, I also realize that bodies will decompose and degrade rapidly in wet, humid, and hot conditions. The faster they can find her remains, the better for both the coroner and the investigation. You really don't need any special training to follow the directive of, "If you see something suspicious, stop where you are, don't touch anything, and call it in immediately ". A lot of the guys you see in the videos on horses, atv's, and on foot are following that exact directive.

It's a matter of simple math. 5000 people searching in an area can fan out further and faster than 300. 5000 people can cover much more area in a day than 300. When you hear them talking about 300 LE officers being involved in the search, you can be assured that 100 out of that 300 are not searching at all, but are coordinating, doing setup work, handling communications, traveling back and forth to town, barricading roads, etc.

The last half dozen cases I've followed where volunteers where allowed to aid in the search, in every single case, the person was found by a volunteer........not by an official LE employee. Once again, it boils down to the math. You have a better chance of winning the lottery if you buy $30 worth of tickets, than you do if you just buy 1 ticket.

If LE were to ask the public to come out and help search via social media and the MSM, I have little doubt that they could meet or exceed 5000 people in a matter of hours. Even 2000 would be a huge boost. If they want to limit the volunteers to people between the ages of 21-50, I understand the argument. If they want to limit the use of atv's and off road vehicles, I understand the argument there too. I think the key is boots on the ground..........and a whole lot of them.

I highly doubt my suggestion will come to pass anytime soon. This entire investigation has been cloaked in secrecy and hidden from public view for the most part. There haven't even been any official press conferences to inform the public and update the media where the investigation stands. For the most part, the public has been pretty much cut out of the loop all together. It's odd how LE jurisdictions will handle identical situations in a completely different manner. In some places, the local sheriff will call in the cavalry and beg for help from anybody than can assist, including volunteers. In other places, the public is shunned and told to stay home.....LE will handle it.

Thank you for the link. Jumping off your link and posting the article about JMG separately:

http://okeechobeenews.net/crime/sea...dium=FeedBlitzRss&utm_campaign=okeechobeenews

From the above links:

"Although many local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are combing rural areas of Okeechobee and surrounding counties the child had not been found as of Tuesday afternoon, June 7.

Some of those agencies were searching a cane field Tuesday in Glades County, while other agencies were searching a western part of Osceola County that lies just across the Okeechobee County line."

*this article says the phone was found in a ditch.

"Rainy weather forced Deputies to call off the search and they were unable to find anything even as they used horses, trailers and a mobile command center off Highway 60. Their search will resume and they are expected to continue sifting through swamps and thick brush."

With possible *advertiser censored* link, search continues for missing Diana Alvares

This guy would have had to get her to one of these search areas, through carrying her or in the car. I understand them wanting to search everywhere, but certainly, they should be focusing on places that are accessible to a person. I don't think he took a 2 mile hike through brush where you need a machete to move to drop her.

I am hoping & praying Diana is still out there and alive somewhere. I know it's probably against all odds, and that LE seem to be looking for her remains from what we are hearing about the searches. I wonder if they have evidence that Diana is deceased? Has there been anything from her biological father? Didn't she communicate with him? It's so difficult to know what to think about all of it, and hope LE will do a presser on this case soon.

Detectives searched on horseback, ATVs and on foot until 3 p.m. Tuesday, when one deputy told reporters that the land was too wet to continue their efforts. That deputy also told FOX 35 that the FDLE and the Polk County Sheriffs Office was conducting another search about 15 miles away and that one of the tools being used was a cadaver dog.

I have removed the recent photo from VINE

I have serious doubts that the person pictured is indeed JG. I am thinking human error may be at work and someone has uploaded the wrong inmate pic with the wrong offender file. The name, age etc all seem to match up but that picture looks like another person entirely to me.

Erring on the side of caution.

Thanks, completely agree. Looks like an error to me too.
