Pirate, If you don't want to answer this just ignor it! :) But did the teacher at Haleigh's school say anything about what kind of little girl she was? Like happy, sad, etc.? I know the teacher wouldn't say anything confidential, but did she say anything about how the little girl was perceived on a general sort of level?

I didn't talk directly to the teacher- just to a relative. And this woman is not Haleigh's teacher- she teaches a different grade. I'm not sure she even knows Haleigh.

It clearly indicates that he at least believes that Hayleigh is deceased.

Thanks Indigo, I'm many pages back, but see my link to Lies For Eyes has gone back to not working. Strange, as I fixed that a couple of times last night  The guy who has that site must not want it used other places. xox

PS: My bold above

Yeah, everything I've read says there is still a warrant out for his arrest.

i could have sworn that on msnbc a few hours ago they said they found some guy that they had been looking for and are pretty sure that he isn't involved. i thought they were talking about that guy that went missing feb 1. i'm not sure though because i would think that more people would have heard about by now.

I made a comment earlier about orlando tv/newspaper coverage I would like to revisit. If it is local area news links of any type regardless of what I may think about their coverage then I'd suggest

I live 50 miles east of orlando. these are the primarly news stations/papers in my area. Since the case broke I have found that the jacksonville, ocala, palatka sites have the best up to the minute but these orlando stations are covering the story and do provide some interesting*color* stories, i.e. some stuff reported that I do not see reported elsewhere and I suspect this is due to individual reporters doing follow up stories. Since nothing is *media* specific in the links I hope MODS or other members do feel that these links are *good* being here in this thread, I apologize and move them if not the case.

Has anyone seen reports of stolen vehicles in the area where Chad R. was last seen? I would think in order for him to be involved in this in any way would require a vehicle.

I stewed about this last night.

OT: I'm reading a book I'm having a hard time getting into..."Perfect Town, Perfect Murder" so I put it down and laid in bed thinking.

I think I'm seeing to many co-incidences or my mind is making them appear as co-incidences.

I agree with the theories that it could have been a SO abduction, in fact, I'm not discounting anyone else's theory because I haven't thought of one myself that I'm comfortable with for now.

But here is what is bothering me. If we look at this situation as if we didn't know anything about the history of rap sheets, RSO's in the neighborhood and took the story at face value. What I see is a 17 yr old female that was the last known person to see Haleigh.
This 17 yr old female just happened to wash two blankets hours before Haleigh went missing.
This 17 yr old just happened to wake up and a door, that by all accounts remains locked at all times, was standing wide open.
This 17 yr old states the screen door was propped open by a cinder block that no one seems to know where it came from.
Something is just not adding up with her story. I'm focusing on one piece at a time before I try to join the pieces together for a theory.

I'm right there w/ you Kat. Well written. Similar comments from LaLaw earlier. I'm parachuting in here w/o reading everything...so I'm sure my facts are askew...still...

I'm very concerned the afternoon w/ Misty's male visitor's may have involved making some p*rn. The blankets being soiled and one allegedly being taken in the "van" may have been the result of same.

I'm very concerned that Haleigh is old enough to identify the individuals involved...which doesn't bode well for her being alive. :(

Certainly LE is monitoring the individuals involved - they are known, right? K9's on that van immediately...please!

ETA: Status of forensics on the blanket(s)? Was the other blanket secured from the van?

Ok! Thanks!! I was thinking since it was a small town a "sense" about her might have been circulating among school personnel (I worked in a school, we were all a nosy bunch!)

Hi Mods :) Will we be getting a forum soon for this case? I can't even comment on anything because I can't even keep up with the information out there, much less these fast moving threads. I leave for a few hours and come back and one thread is closed and another open! It would be so kind of you if you could start a forum so everything could be sorted and easier to follow. Thanks :):blowkiss:

Another good source is: www.gainesville.com

The link someone posted this morning said that he borrowed a friend's car (last name Baker I think) and they later found the car abandoned in Marion County.

hey, pirate. your mission: should you choose to accept........drive by misty's brother's late at night and see if they still have there van.

Do we know if LE plans to continue with the 4pm pressers?
I didn't see it mentioned, but I would have to assume they won't have more until there is additional news to update. I could be wrong...like I have been all weekend. Hahahaha~

I dont know what kinds of trains go through there but if its an Amtrack train and with no scheduled stop they don't go slow. Its not like you can jump on one. And once on the train there are porters etc. That seems like an unlikely get away method anyway. Alot of those trains dont stop for hundreds of miles and if you got off at the stop you would be all alone and without any transportation.

I think the only AmTrack train on this line is the CARtrain from Sanford to Wash. D.C., although there may be one from Miami also. The rest would be freight and depending on load and delivery stops could be moving fast to very slow.

Yes. It looks to be quite a distance from where Haleigh went missing unless he stole or borrowed another car.

Yes after he called to tell them where they would find the car because it had broken down.
