I agree that the system failed Cherish and that a bad RSO killed her but....

I have to also strongly agree that....

.....if a 19 year old paid baby sitter had taken the girls to Walmart and allowed this to happen.....

.....if she had arrived at her fathers house and he had taken her to Walmart and allowed a stranger to have her....

YES, the mother has to be held to at least that same standard.!!

State seeking the death penalty for DS. "Capital Sexual Battery" brought me to tears. I'm so sorry your life ended in such horror, sweet Cherish. :(

Donald Smith, the man accused of abducting and killing 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle last month, was indicted Tuesday on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and capital sexual battery.

According to the indictment, Smith strangled Cherish.

I figured that's what happened. Poor baby.

"Investigators are still asking for the public's help in finding a stroller (pictured above) that Cherish's family had at the Dollar General. Police said the stroller was in Smith's van at the time of the abduction, but wasn't inside when they arrested him.

Prosecutors believe there could be a second crime scene they need to investigate that could present important evidence in prosecuting this case.

Anyone who has seen a stroller that is out of place or in a location it wasn't previously is asked to not touch it and call police at 904-630-0500."

We visit the area as snowbirds and Guana River State Park struck me as feeling desolate and remote, at least that's how it felt during our visit to the area. Maybe look there? But then that wouldn't make logical sense to ditch a stroller there and not the crime victim. Baffling

UGH!!! I can't say what I want to say without getting a T/O!

FREAKING JACK BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!! I knew he sexually assaulted her, and I suspected he strangled her to death!!! I am shaking I am so angry!!!!! Rot in prison you son of a BLEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!! I hope they put the needle in your arm!!! Florida just passed a law that is suppose to send people on death row a lot quicker!!!

Where the heck could he have dumped the stroller. It's so big and he had so little time.

In a dumpster behind a store/ at an apartment complex? If he could figure out how to collapse it, it would be easy to toss in a dumpster.

ETA:IF the stroller was made in the last 10 years, even these big ones are easy to collapse, some just by pushing a button. The ones from 10 years ago were semi-easy to collapse, but they've gotten easier. And it may have stayed collapsed from when she put it in his van--or he watched her collapse it.

Nodding. Yeah, it's one thing to "know," and another thing to know.

I sense a lot of tears in WebsleuthLand right now.

Oh "Young Lady." I am soooo very sorry that we as a "civilized nation" let you down in so many ways, on so many levels.

I had the exact same stroller. I sold it a month ago. It folds very easily.

If it went into a dumpster why hasn't it been found at the landfill?

Well, which dumpster and which landfill? Meaning, from my understanding of landfills (Dad used to work for WM), different communities and different neighborhoods, different stores, are hauled by different companies, different days, etc. Items can be/are compacted and tossed in assigned areas per day of the week, hauler, etc. Not all companies use the same landfill. (private/public?)

In other words, needle in a haystack. Could be needle in two or three haystacks depending on if he drove to a different county. Didn't he have more than two hours between driving off with Cherish and being pulled over by police?

Here's a list of possible dumps/landfills/transfer stations

Heck, he could have given it to a homeless person/placed it where homeless people hang, to use as a push cart. Homeless people aren't generally watching the news/reading the paper.

Did someone bring over My Tee Mouse's map from the last thread?
That stroller has to be somewhere!

I would think that the police would work from the two known crime scenes out.

Cherish was located by the church which isn't very far from the first crime scene. I would assume the stroller was disposed of after killing Cherish and not before. I would concentrate on the dumpsters closest to the second crime scene and find out when they were dumped and taken to which landfill.

Actually, landfills keep very sophisticated records now. Every dumpster and route is on a grid system They can exactly pinpoint on a grid, where and when each dumpster contents is, and how deep. That's been used many times, to find bodies after a confession, or police know when/where something (or someone :( ) has been discarded.
That's the problem, they don't know IF he even put it in a dumpster. With hundreds of dumpsters in a city, searching a landfill can really be futile, unless they have an idea of where an when it was dumped.

I'll fetch it.

Here 'tis:

http://goo.gl/maps/BrhD9

A. Home
B. DG
C. WM
D. Church where Cherish was found
E. Nearest McDonalds outside of Walmart
F. Ray Greene Park
G. Menlo Park
H. Perp's (mother's) home...where perp lived

****This map is definitely a team effort!!! My map skills are rudimentary. Anyone with better map skills is welcome to take over, add the appropriate icons, etc.****

OK, this slays me to say, but:

I think the stroller is important because it is at the scene of the actual murder...as in he dragged it out of the back and tossed it to make room in the back...

[Remember: He'd removed the seats. He obviously meant to have a lot of room for whatever he had planned]

Then afterwards he was freaked and drove off without thinking about the stroller. MOO MOO MOO

ok I thought so! So what is with the names? I dont get that at all. If she is bi-polar that still doesnt mean you lack common sense does it? I know someone who is bi-polar who takes meds, but he is a rational person.

Yes, this was exactly the point I was trying to make, but doing a bad job of it! There are hundreds of dumpsters/compactors in just a ten mile radius of any given point. Even if all of this garbage is going to the same dump, it is all going to different sectors of the dump.
