knocking on 30 hours .. anyone know what is the longest a jury has deliberated ?

edit: I'm reading 4 months on a case dealing with some police officers .. they had 122 pages of instructions to go through and 35 counts :0 .. they ended up acquitting on 8 and the rest were mistrials ..

this one shouldn't take too much longer I think

When the SUV drove to get away from the shooting... if Jordan had not been shot, does anyone wonder what the driver would have done? Since he was on parole/probation and out after his curfew, do you think he would have kept on driving if noone was injured? Just something I wondered about and has nothing to do with his race.

Ive thought about this actually. I think driving on might have been something he considered until they realized Jordan was dying. I don't think that's indicative of guilt. Just that he didn't want to get in troule. Once he realized Jordan was shot he went straight back. But I really don't know.

Respectfully, BBM. We need to bring back the old castle doctrine statute that required a duty to retreat on behalf of the shooter BEFORE they fired lethal shots (or any shots). I'm not a gun owner nor will I ever be, but the way the the laws are now, it truly is the Wild West in my state. Shoot first and ask questions later.

But even the castle doctrine has let people get away with murder, imo.

I remember a case out of Texas where it wasn't even the man's own home that was being broken into. Two burglars were outside and fleeing away from the shooter and he still shot them dead.... shooting both of them in the back and the jury found him not guilty. This man did not retreat..........he advanced forward killing both men even when the 911 dispatcher was telling him to stay put.

I wonder by these jury questions if they are going to find Dunn NG concerning Jordan's death and then are contemplating whether to find him guilty of attempted murder concerning the three other teens?

I pray that isn't so. If that happens my heart just breaks for Jordan's parents who have lost the most in this tragedy.

If he is convicted of three attempted murders he still will die in prison with a 60 year sentence but still there has to be justice for Jordan too to give his parents peace of mind that true justice has been served.

Have they told the Judge that they cant come to a decision and are hung or are they still deliberating and haven't told the court that yet? tia

I am just now coming on line. I thought for sure they would have a verdict by now.:(

IMO

Poor Dunn, He thinks they are doing it wrong...

:scared:

Here is what I think now.. that they are going to get him on the attempted murder for sure. That now they know that the car of boys is not one large self defense vote.

I don't know how they think it can be self defense.
His own words from that police report are, It was self defense they were getting out of the car.

Getting out of the car is not something that needs self defense.

I really hope I'm wrong but I don't have a good feeling. :(

That there might be even just one hold out fills me with despair and anger. :banghead:

Close to verdict? Maybe explaining safety/security to the jurors before they announce?

Interesting development.

It would not matter to me if I was a juror and I understand why they drove away. They had to be terrified.

But I do think this is important to someone on that jury unfortunately.:( I wish the kids had just stayed put although I do understand their reason for leaving.

By leaving a juror can infer they did ditch a weapon somewhere.:banghead: They could be thinking why would they leave and not stay right there and call police immediately. Ugggh.

I hope not but something is sure being tossed around in that deliberation room that is making this into a very long deliberation.

IMO

I wonder if there is a verdict and they are finalizing logistics.

I think if the SUV had stayed put...all 4 of the young men would be dead not just one. imo

Think they are getting in place for verdict?
