In line with matou's post above, I think that the cocaine is a red herring. He's willing to implicate himself in something illegal that will get his bond revoked in order to try to look innocent from something worse. He figures if he tells them something minor, he'll look more credible in the big lie he's telling them. JMO.

So IF the bf has not harmed Lonzie probably a big IF but could he of been kidnapped because of his involvement with drugs and that's why it's like pulling teeth to get information out of him.
Selfish bf more worried for himself than a poor little kiddo SMH.

Are we having to see him as a victim, or can we ask if the baby was sold for drugs, or, a drug deal gone bad? They call the baby Arin, instead of Lonzie.

Ah, that explains those very early alerts I saw with 'Aaron Ebron' being missing.

Personally, I don't really see why an adult who told police he left two very young children alone in a car in a dark, unsafe place, with keys in the ignition, in order to take cocaine, should be regarded as a victim.

I hope the little girl was not harmed during any of this. I wonder if she knows if her brother was awake or asleep when she left the car or if she actually saw him at all in the car.

I'm calling bs on the coke. If he needed to snort, he would have just done it right there and have it on him. He went in the apartment (if this is true) to do something else. JMO

Very traumatic. Wonder what info she will, unfortunately, be able to provide LE.

Unclear if she immediately trailed behind BF bc she was frightened--of the dark, of being left alone in the dark, of something that she had witnessed earlier, etc or if she, within a few minutes, perhaps much longer, entered the home stating that she was scared:

The boyfriend put the children in the car and ran back into the apartment to use cocaine, he told a detective during an interview.

The 5-year-old then came into the apartment
and told the man "she's scared."

He left the car running along with the two children inside. The little girl ran up after him and told Ebron that she was scared. When they went back to the parking lot, they saw the Civic leaving, driven by an unknown person, with the toddler still inside the car.

<snip>

Police said they've brought in a specialist to question Lonzie's sister, and the 5-year-old was cooperating but was tired and hungry, so detectives were letting her rest Friday afternoon, so they could interview her again later.

If the boyfriend has done something terrible to Lonzie, I HOPE he is as dumb as he thinks he is smart and makes lots of dumb statements that put him away forever. Ditto to anyone else involved.

This case outlook just doesn't look good to me.

@ShannonOgden1: @tina1227 @FCN2go They have expanded the search area further out from where it was. And JSO doesn't seem to want volunteer searchers

I am sorry, but this guy is a for leaving the car running with babies al alone inside, in a seedy parking lot at night. He should be charged with child endangerment if nothing else.

Update (4:10 p.m.) : Story updates information that Baker County authorities have revoked a bond of William Ebron and requested his arrest.

Friday afternoon, police said they have been interviewing the boy’s mother and her boyfriend, William Ruben Ebron. Also Friday, Baker County authorities revoked a bond for Ebron, 32, who had been charged with drug possession, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest without violence.

I don't think a red herring. This guy was/is a ticking time bomb, and his love and addiction to coke have and will come into play imo:

He was arrested again in late 2011 for domestic battery. He would’ve had a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old at the time. The Duval County Clerk’s Office hasn’t yet made the arrest report available, but a domestic violence injunction his ex-girlfriend filed said he punched her in the jaw while she was driving, he wrestled his father and he beat her while she was holding their son.

“I have suffered violence from the respondent for six years,” his ex-girlfriend wrote. “He was never arrested for domestic violence against me until now.”

In September 2013, a judge lifted the restraining order, allowing him access to the ex-girlfriend and the kids.

<snip>

In November 2014, she filed another injunction.

He had shown up and tried to take the children away from her. His father and his ex-girlfriend stopped him, but then he tried to intercept the kids from a bus.

“I am going to shoot you in the head tonight,” he told the ex-girlfriend, according to the injunction. Then he abducted their daughter and drove off while the ex-girlfriend tried to hang onto the car, the report said.

I'm not saying he didn't do cocaine, I'm saying he confessed to doing cocaine so quickly in hopes that it would make his lies about what happened to Lonnie more credible. Like, "see, I'm an honest guy, I told you about the cocaine, why wouldn't I tell you about anything else?"

Could be as simple as not wanting Mother to work at club that evening and leave him w/children which might set someone with his domestic violence history OFF

Additionally, fuels up on coke...

Well, between Haleigh Cummings and Lonzie Barton, I don't believe either was kidnapped.

I believe both met a horrible and early death at the hands of family/boyfriends, surrounded by a general bottom-dwelling lifestyle.

Children lost by bioparents not paying any attention whatsoever who is around their children.

But why would he drive her to work, at a job where she worked at her discretion, if he didn't want her to go to work?
