Im so sad for this child. I feel like he never had a chance in life, considering his circumstances.. the only positive I can take from this is that the 5 year oldn is is given a better life.

I think by 'rectified' LE means brought to resolution, not 'fixed'. On the first 48, perps are frequently urged to 'make it right' and 'end it'. Not meaning anything except 'get it off your chest/ tell the truth finally'.
