Police find remains in Southside woods

http://www.news4jax.com/news/police-find-remains-in-southside-woods

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police have found remains while searching for a body in a wooded area on the Southside.

Several sources tell News4Jax that investigators went to the area to search for missing toddler Lonzie Barton.

"They were directed to the area by Ruben Ebron," law enforcement sources told News4Jax crime and safety analyst Gil Smith.

OMG! Crying

I can't believe Lonzie is still missing. Someone knows where he is, but there seems to be no decency with this lot. Lonzie deserves better. Poor little guy

I know what you are saying. My fear is that RE harmed Lonzie during those hours Lonna was at work, and he placed Lonzie in the water. If that is the case, he'll never tell because that would be a murder charge. This little boy will always be in my heart.

***** I read more posts after posting this one********

Please, please. For Lonzie please.

Why would he finally spill the beans? He will be up for murder if it is Lonzie correct? Why would he do this? I'm glad he did but help me understand?!

Most likely a plea of some sort.

What? OMG, I am shaking with fear and hope at the same time. Is this really it? Oh I pray.

Watching the news now from Action news CBS 47 here in Jacksonville.......they started to investigate this area last night. Medical examiner is on site now.

There's so much going on today I didn't follow it sequentially. I saw MM had jury selection but didn't see where it was suddenly delayed. Then I saw the human remains near Lonzies disappearance but didn't see that investigators were led there. WOW he must have copped a plea.

There is JSO command center on site....Medical examiner arrived about a hour ago.....dive teams on site....cadaver dogs....Bayard is the area for this search ...that begun last night.

I saw this on twitter & felt instantly sick!

Thank you for those following and updating.

I pray this discovery will lead to some resolution in this case.

I wondered what was up when the delay happened this morning. I must admit I did not expect THIS to be the reason.

Area of JSO search described as "low laying" "very swampy" "wooded area" ... Some homes here. In the past JSO searched south of this @FCN2go

I figured the delay was just another stall tactic.

Now, I am refreshing everything as quickly as possible, hoping for answers on Lonzie.

Live coverage reporter says Sgt Jansen, who has been in court all week on the Lonzie case and has been very involved in the investigation of Lonzie's disappearance has arrived on the scene.

States attorney, AC, has just left the scene where remains were found.
