Trayvon did NOT have cuts to his hands. Please refer to the autopsy report. He had a small "abrasion" (testified to in court to NOT being a cut) to his left non-dominate hand.

I do not believe Trayvon beat GZ, never have. Trayvon's injuries do not show him beating anyone. JMO

All that says to me is that TM hit GZ hard enough to break the skin on one knuckle. Considering that no bruising would show up since TM died moments later, that's a rather significant piece of evidence. JMO. OMO. MOO.

Yup, that Judge is sure against the defense.....when the moon is blue. IMO

I think that the state is grasping at straws at this point. The judge had no choice in ruling against them on things that they are obviously wrong on. MOO.

Respectfully snipped by me:

I have a real-life analogy to this event. Forgive the length of this post, but I'd like to lay it out to explain the difference between the Trayvon killing and what happened to my own son.

HAD my son done so, and HAD this man killed my son (with or without a gun) he could be charged with Murder 2 because all those adjectives many in this forum use to describe Zimmerman's actions (inaccurately) were actually the motives of this crazy SOB. He WAS stalking my son, he WAS trying to intimidate my son, he WAS looking for an altercation with my son. He did it with hatred, malice and spite. But unlike Trayvon, my son was known to the man who was following him. Unlike Trayvon, my son didn't share the physical characteristics of criminals at large who'd committed crimes in the neighborhood. And unlike Trayvon, my son did not confront with violence.

I see NO evidence of murder in the 2nd degree of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman, especially when I contrast his actions with the actions of someone in real life who pursued a teenager through his neighborhood with depravity, hatred and spite.

IMO

I'm sorry that you and your son had to go through that SassyMom. You are highlighting some good points, but what if this man killed your son? Your son could not tell you what happened. This creep could have said he was forced to kill your son in self defense which is exactly what GZ is doing. That's my point. Dark, with witnesses seeing/hearing some activity AFTER the struggle started. GZ has been less than honest in the past (that's on the record - donations, passports, etc). I do not believe his version. It has been modified to justify self defense. GZ deserves some punishment; at the very least a manslaughter conviction.

His own doctor testified they were insignificant. I watched and listened to every word.
IMO

She referred him further to an ENT because she thought he warranted further treatment/investigation.

He didn't follow up because of the copay, but on the stand she stood by her belief that he should have, based on her exam.

I don't think she ever referred to his injuries as "insignificant".

IMHO

Suspended 3 times MSM reports.

No understanding why this is even being mentioned. It had nothing to do with this event.

Unless you also think GZ's somewhat violent background and his gym training significant. IMO

i haven't said much. this because i've found much of the discussion here entirely disconcerting.

it is inconceivable to me that so many folks, the very same ones who were disgusted at the mere thought that anything negative should even be breathed about travis alexander in the arias, have taken to bashing a 17 year old victim of a murder. and that is the fact. argue all you like as to it being something else. trayvon martin did not take his own life that night. george zimmerman murdered him. the baloney excuses, the long, never-ending, maze-like attempts to explain or justify it are not based on legal statutes. i've read dozens of times that those who feel GZ is guilty are merely responding with emotion. i will refrain from calling statements like that what i feel they are, but rather, will point out that those who feel GZ is not guilty are responding to emotion just as much as anyone else. there is simply a difference between what makes one person emotional and what makes another emotional. emotions run high when core beliefs are challenged.

my core beliefs as relevant here: a 17 year old is still a child. in the United States of America, no person should be gunned down for walking down the street. a neighborhood watch person of good intention, particularly a captain, would have immediately informed the operator that he was armed. he would then have called another person in the neighborhood for back up. a 17 year old who was going to go after someone would brag about to the girl on the other end of the phone, and then he would hang up before any punches were thrown. there are more, but this is enough.

i am a well-educated, well-read, intelligent individual. i assume most here are the same. it is glaringly obvious to me that george zimmerman murdered trayvon martin. period. it is a tragedy and it is a crime.

that said, i believe he will be found not guilty. i believe that will be an unjust verdict.

MOST importantly, i believe it is deplorable and frankly unacceptable to see people talking about how riots are going to break out if zimmerman is found innocent. do people truly not see that this is just as much an example of racial profiling as was the one zimmerman engaged in? i've yet to see a single person claim that riots would be break out if zimmerman were found guilty. would it be less disastrous if the angry, gun-toting zimmerman fans rioted? that's sure some interesting logic.

at the end of the day, the parents of a 17 year old have lost their son. they have never claimed he was perfect. i beseech everyone to think of your own 17 year old, or a 17 year old you know. think about that kid. think about that kid not in terms of how you hate the way they dress, or can't stand the slang they use, of how nasty their fb page makes them look....but think about the heart of that 17 year old. for me, this is easy. i've had two at that age so far. i promise you that a 17 year old, at 5'11'' and just over 150 lbs is a lanky, skinny kid and he knows it. a 17 yo who was a good enough brother to be bringing his sibling back a snack from 7-11 (without even opening it to take some for himself, mind you), a 17 year old whose only tattoos were the names of his grandmothers and the name of his mother, that 17 year old was innocent that night when he left the house, and innocent when his life ended on the wet ground.

i predict that trayvon's parents, regardless of the verdict, will make it a mission to deal with the atrocity of a law in florida that all but begs for the murder of innocent human beings. it needs to change. IN MY OPINION

IMO I believe it's short sighted and naive to believe that just because someone wound up dead that the person who killed him wasn't justified in doing so. As well as being short sighting into thinking that a 17 year old adult (because that's what he would be tried as if the roles were reversed) who is unarmed is incapable of hurting (or worse) someone who is armed.

In trial, The sun expert for the state said that once a bullet is loaded into the chamber you only need to pull the trigger to fire.
Since GZ weapon was loaded with a bullet in the chamber there was no need for 2 hands. He pulled and shot.

Correct. So it is my opinion he unholstered his loaded weapon at the T, slid the barrel to chamber a round, ready to fire if necessary before approaching Trayvon. I do not believe he was sucker punched as you will see in the animation during closing they claim Trayvon punched with his left as the injury shows hitting George on his right side. Trayvon is right handed.

How? There was no evidence in what can easily be called a mild scrap that TM intended to kill GZ. He had no reason to do that. According to most people TM was the stronger person - all he needed to do was hold GZ down until he quit squirming around and banging his head on the cement.

I still want to know how TM's body was found on the grass with his hands folded under himself. And why GZ didn't check to see if he was dead or alive and if he needed medical assistance. After all it was he was the one with the gun.
IMO

I'm not going to try and change your mind about this. I just stated my opinion.

Thank you for this - but I heard her say if HE thought it warranted it.
IMO

Why have I never seen the photo of Trayvon on your post on nancy grace?

And how does she get away with saying Trayvon was gunned down?

Because an age appropriate photo of TM doesn't help her with the fiction she's advancing. HLN is now and forever a blocked channel at my house.

I don't have the transcript in front of me, but she said on the stand that she believed he should have followed up, and he told her he wouldn't because of the copay, and when asked did she still believe he should have, she said yes.

IMHO

Justice for George Zimmerman. My prayers for this jury to get it right by way of a not guilty verdict on all charges.

My concealed carry class and at the advice of friends and family that are LE

CCW classes never tell you how to use your gun in that way. It is all personal. You can not carry one in the chamber, you can carry one in the chamber with the safety on, or one in the chamber with no safety. And all of these are legal and allowed and its of personal choice. I have a CCW permit and have had multiple classes and they always leave the option up to you on how you want to carry, because it is after all your weapon and your life you are depending. And as for LE recommended not, do LE not carry one in the chamber? Heck no. And I have many LE in my family and they say you minds well not even have a gun if you don't carry in the chamber. Now there is definitely differing of opinions but I don't believe at all it makes one irresponsible for carrying one in the chamber and I don't believe even the court would say that either.

I am a small woman and I can shoot a gun with my non dominant hand and not allow the recoil to hit me in the face. He is a man and stronger than me. I just don't think that scenario is accurate at all and it's not a possibility IMO.

Not to mention that the State hasn't even suggested it. They're sticking with tree branches :) jmo

So, when TM told GZ he was going to die tonight........do you just ignore that? Was it OK for TM to kill GZ because he says GZ was following him? But to answer your question, if GZ didn't have a gun that night, he would have been dead or severely injured. Do you think the "star witness" would have come forward to say her boyfriend was there that night? Absolutely not!

Why was it okay for Zimmerman to defend himself but not Martin? Why couldn't Martin be in fear of his life when a man gets out of his car and starts following him?

None of this will matter once the jury gets instructions....not gonna matter if a hoodie was up or down, who was following not following, who had skittles or gun, who said what, who had blood or no blood, who had pot in system or not, how many times 911 was called in past or not, who used racial slurs or not....all that will matter (according to the law in FL) is if GZ felt his life was in danger when TM was on top of him slamming his head into the concrete. This is not murder 2...not manslaugher...and now they are scrambling for lessor charges. So unless they find some lesser offense that exists in FL...this will be NOT GUILTY.
MOO

So does anyone know, is the state still planning to begin their closing today? They still have issues to hash out in court, the murder3 thing, the jury verdict form, and then the lengthy jury instruction.

IMHO

We're told to believe this case is about anything but self-defense. Power, ratings, $$$$ is what it's about. Pathetic.
