It's now officially a blizzard warning. 8-15 inches, with locally higher totals expected along the I-69 corridor. Three guesses what runs practically through my back yard?

storm two is almost here, within the hour. Blizzard warnings. Expecting 15 to 22 inches north of I72 (spfld). Guess what is in my backyard? Yuh Huh. Be thinkin of you guys today. Everyone be safe and smart.

I'm going to the grocery store now....pray for me. LOL. Not that the worst of the snow has hit yet, we have a few hours, but people get a little bit crazy when they think you are going to buy the last gallon of milk.

I saw someone riding their bike this morning. Bad enough driving in it. Can't imagine relying on a bicycle in it.......

From all reports, it looks like this will be one to remember. Stay safe and warm, everyone. Sending prayers for all my WS friends in parts north. Godspeed.

Can someone drop off a gallon of milk at LadyL's house. She might need it for her cereal, LOL!

Cubby, I love your siggy pic of that old police car during the blizzard of '67. What a great pic!

Stay safe and warm friends!

Blizzard warning here now too, not till this afternoon though. I made it in to work today. The snow has stopped until later. Hopefully I don't have to leave work early and can work a full day. My boss just told me to plan on the office being closed tomorrow!! YESSS!!!!!!

The roads were really crappy on the way in but not many schools were closed. I have no idea why...

Maybe today would be a good day to update my biblical blog page since it's feels like the end of the world is coming, lol!:crazy::crazy:

Did I mention WE CALL GONNA DIE!!!!! :panic: *slaps myself* Much better.

Tom Skilling rocks! I'm not looking forward to the 50 mile an hour winds and single digits. Was it that windy and cold in 67?

Hoping for some snow drifts high enough to sled off the roof like we did in 79!

The Blizzard of '78 is the one I rememeber. I was only 5 but I remember how deep the snow was. I have heard of the '79 blizzard but that didn't affect us over here as much as it did over towards you. '80 had a bad one, too, here, but '78 was our benchmark, easily. The county was closed down for a week and they had to truck the snow from the roads onto the lakes and dump it there.

SO every school in the area is closed because of the temps outside. Weatherman says it is -9 with a chill of -32...... I am not brave enough to venture out to check my own thermometer..... But we have only maybe 2 inches of snow, however the roads are an icey mess. And the next major storm is supposed to hit Saturday night, I think we are in for a few weeks of cold!!! Stay safe everyone!!!!!!

Only scattered flurries here, as of yet. Dropped the tyke off to daycare without too much trouble, aside from the cold wind. I'm hoping the snow doesn't really start until after I get him home. *fingers crossed*

the snow has started, not too bad as yet. Bitter cold wind tho. I am more worried about tomorrow and thursday. Tomorrow because of digging out of however many inches we end up with, and thursday because all that snow will be iced over and wind chills are expected to be in teh negative double digits.

Go away winter. Seriously.

Every school and every activity has been canceled already for today and tonight, just to play it safe. We have to make up school snow days, and they have already missed 4. They'll be in school until the 4th of July at this rate, lol, poor kids.

BTW DK, My sister and mother find your descriptions of "thundersnow" fascinating. They had never heard of it.

I mentioned that yesterday, how we still deal with the aftermath of the storm for days. I hate that.

I wish the uni would say now if everything is cancelled tomorrow. I would love to not have to prepare my lecture. At this rate, I will have it done and then hear tomorrow at 8am it's a no-go. :sigh:

That's cool! At least this has been a learning experience, hehe. I'm glad they liked it. :)

Awww, I hope and pray they make a decision soon for you. :)

Um, wow, the wind just picked up and the sound is very eerie.
