My name is spelled one way but also a variant which is more a nickname. My own family spells my name 2 different ways, but sure, there is one legal way which is what's on the birth certificate. That's it. So I'm not bothered by this T no T at all.

I agree that it isn't that important. But personally I hope baby M's family does everything possible to honor Heidi's intentions for her. She only had the chance to make a few decisions for her baby, and I hope any tangible connection will be preserved instead of forgotten in all the chaos and fear of M's first month of life.

Another great insight! ITA and hadn't thought of that but makes perfect sense. Notice it was reported she remained quiet and then just up and left. She was observing.

Have we seen her spell in that way in other places? We don’t know if she wrote the grocery list. If she did, she may have been rushing and the spelling didn’t matter. She also may not have known how to spell a name that came from his family or may have forgotten. Or they may not have decided on the spelling yet.

Heidi wrote Margo at least twice on her instagram. I don't read anything into it though. For all we know Shane's phone just auto corrected. Shane's father spelled it Margo in all his posts when Heidi and the baby were missing.

The fixation on procedural claims given the circumstances while important at a certain level is baffling given the fact that an infants welfare could very well be at stake IMO.

CPS does have an obligation, once they are involved, to undertake an investigation as to 'fitness' as it relates to undertaking childcare of a less than month old infant who will require 24/7 care.

Whether or not SC is the bio dad or not and whether of not SC was/wasn't on the Baby Margo birth certificate doesn't do much to answer to question of whether he will be capable of infant and child care on a sustained basis.

Given the involved legalities there might not be much that CPS can do other than perhaps to monitor the situation to make sure that BOTH children survive the trauma of losing their beloved mother. We have sadly seen too many cases of children released to bio parents and then tragedy strikes.

I very much hope that doesn't happen here in this case but I do hope Texas CPS keeps a laser focus on SC and TC and their care of the 2 children, as by all accounts the clear primary caregiver of all of the children was clearly HB and had been this way from the birth of both children.

Parental rights are a thing.

Moms have been the traditional primary caregiver for many generations, and for generations when a mother died or was otherwise unable to care for the children, the children stayed with the father and the family adjusted. The government does not have the right to interfere with the parent's rights to raise their children without cause.

Fathers are every bit as important to the children as the mother, regardless of which one is more hands-on.

CPS officials have returned the month-old baby of the South Austin woman found dead in the trunk of a car outside of a northwest Houston home.

Margot Carey was reunited with her family on Monday, CPS officials said. Her mother Heidi Broussard was found strangled to death a week after going missing from their South Austin apartment.

Carey was found by police at the home where her mother was discovered. Carey was in foster care until she could be positively identities with DNA testing.

Broussard’s longtime friend, Magen Fieramusca, is believed to be connected to her death. Fieramusca is facing two charges of kidnapping and one charge of tampering with a corpse, for now.

I’m just learning the details and pretty far behind as I’ve just heard about this case so excuse me if this has been discussed but what’s puzzling me is the registry. Why a boy? Was she pregnant and lost a boy? Have her eye on another baby and somehow that fell through? It seems like if the plan was Margo(t?) she would have put down a girl or at the very least left it gender neutral and said they planned on being surprised at the birth. So many questions I’ll probably never get an answer to but that’s a big question in my mind today.

This is my guess -

She chose boy after knowing Heidi was having a girl, so that people in Heidi's life wouldn't immediately think of her when it all went down, if she'd told people MF was having a boy, and even when they would discover she had a girl they would think no one who was planning this would have prepared a boy-themed registry, so she would avoid suspicion that way too.

. I’m guessing TCPS has plenty of cases needing their intervention & imo this is not one of them. I think Shane needs to exercise caution as far as who he lets in his life as he moves forward. Many proved they can’t be trusted & will stop at nothing to become part of a story, MOO. Never know what they might attempt in the future....selling their story, making things up, etc.

I also was just thinking about her being in the delivery room with Heidi and how horrifying and chilling that really is. Pretending to be her BF and wanting to share the moment. Shiver..all the while knowing what she had planned and Heidi so unaware.
Stuff movies are made of. I have no doubt from the moment she found out Heidi was pregnant (again) she decided she wanted that baby.

Parents with the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association organized a fundraiser for the family of Heidi Broussard, and the group came through in a big way just before Christmas.

Talking about the spelling, not who she is named after. Heidi appeared to spell it Margo while Shane has it Margot.

Margot was Shane's Grandmother's name

I believe it's safe to say that SC autocorrect got it wrong --and that's OK!

The infant's mother and her grandfather Ty spell it Margo. I'm assuming she's the namesake of Ty's mother (and there are many Irish women spelling their name "Margo" including the singer Margo)!
