He will be toast on cross exam regarding his credentials. Just sayin

I hope when they opened the trunk of the car today, they all puked from the smell. I still think the jury should be able to inspect the car trunk with all of its fragrent evidence included.

I'd love to see the video of them inspecting it...see if they gagged or held their noses or what.

ITA, and I'll bet the farm that Henry Lee knows with every cell of his being that Casey's car reeks due to the unmistakable odor of human decomposition. He knows Caylee was decomposing in that trunk (sorry Caylee :(). NOW, just how honest he decides to be regarding the evidence is very much in doubt IMO. As I mentioned in the evidence thread, Henry Lee is entirely AVOIDED as a "scientific expert". The Prosecutors AND Defense lawyers I know and respect will not touch him with a 1,000,000 mile pole. Then again, I am fortunate enough not to know any "Baez-types" in this jurisdiction and in the realm of our more high-profile Felony cases. As for Dr. Lee? His name is MUD, in my humble opinion. Interestingly enough, Lee's reputation began going south long before the Spector trial.

JMO....

ITA...I saw him oh gosh such a long time ago, even before the OJ fiasco. I wish I could remember the case. I didn't like him then and now dislike him even more. My guess is that Baez can't find anyone who can honestly dispute the states experts findings.
How sad for Caylee. This whole mess should have been cleaned up and KC sitting on DR at the very least a year ago.

It'd be nice if this case caused some responsible legislators to propose a bill that would prohibit this disgusting idiocy - why in the world should any defense attorneys be allowed to purchase opinions?

Man I would love to be standing outside the courthouse the day ol Lee is to testify. I'd toss a ketchup bottle at him!

IMO Nothing worse than a Forensic Ho ( IYKWIM)

Because opinions are like belly buttoms, everyone has one. ( Ya like how I cleaned that up/ lol) The defense just has to find someone that doesn't share the prosecutions opinions.

I would like to know everyone's thoughts on this. According to this article, the defense owes him $7,500.

But if you remember , he told on NG hat he was working pro-bono. Can't have it both ways.

GRACE: Back to Dr. Henry Lee, who, as you all know, is a famed forensic scientist on the Anthony defense team. Dr. Lee, I`ve just got to ask you, you know, tot mom Casey Anthony was siphoning gasoline from her family`s car to fill up her own tank. How the heck are you getting paid? I`m sure you`re costing a pretty penny. Dr. Lee does not come cheap.
LEE: No, we did not get any pay for that and for — I`ll say, you know, this country, as you know, everybody entitled a defense. And many forensic experts, we do pro bono cases and that`s our obligation to our profession. As an expert, we look at evidence, doesn`t matter inculpatory, exculpatory, we report (ph) as it is. I don`t think should be labeled as a defense expert going to just for defense. Many time, found more evidence, inculpatory evidence, than the police found. There — you know, case history, case example, many time we`re allowed to work on the case together. Many of my cases, I let the defense expert observe. It`s nothing wrong.
GRACE: So Dr. Lee…
LEE: Nothing unusual.
GRACE: Dr. Lee, are you telling me that you are working on the case pro bono, for free?
LEE: Yes.

MOO on above. Whole lot of tap dancing around the idea of being paid or not. A rather bizarre reference to the defense expert observing and sort of implying he is ther to work the case and so is the other expert and there is a comradere implied IMO.

Seems a rather odd tangent to go off on when no one asked about that?

IMHO I believe you can work pro bono and yet ask for travel expenses. Such as, the legal work and time is free, but I would appreciate the flights, rental cars, and hotel room expenses please. Especially if the court would/could grant reimbursement for such expenses.

I do believe that if Dr. Lee is not reimbursed or paid for those fees he will jump ship. Does anyone know what the $7,500 in expenses already incurred is for? Working for free is one thing, but picking up your own travel expenses is another (IMO). So fork it over JB :)

IIRC this was in response to that parade of defense "experts" when Caylees body was found...he was ranting and venting about not being able to assist LE in the field....it was for show only....she wasn't even ID'd yet (just assumed---Dr. Lee and others took assume to the level our parents warned us of..IMO "when you assume.......etc"

I think it is great. I was not looking forward to any of his teaching techniques while he was on the stand. The last one spitting ketchup out during the Michael Peterson trial almost did me in. There would not be much to demonstrate with hairs and decomp. Unless of course he wanted to bring her car in and open up the trunk for the jurors. Now that one I could handle. Let them all have a little sniff of that "pizza" in the trunk.

Henry Lee does Jackson Pollock

The Jury didn't agree with Dr Lee's opinion in the Kathleen Peterson murder
trial.

FWIW.........Neither did I

Coinkydinkally Dr Werner Spitz worked on this case also.

I'd agree that Lee would want to be reimbursed for travel but what puzzled me was Baez's response in court yesterday. He mumbled thru that it was on its way or perhaps there already (something to that effect). Later he told media he was gathering that info...yet if this is so important wouldn't this be done??? Odd, makes me wonder if they are really planning on using Lee and/or he has already jumped ship.

Hi Mel,
I think your question (RBBM) is exactly the same question that HHJP and JAC have and that's why he hasn't received his money yet. I believe everyone is waiting on Jose to provide the details/receipts for the $7,500.
I laughed out loud when I heard Jose's oft repeated response, "We're workin' on it," when asked about the Kronk issue. I laughed even harder when he was put on the carpet about Dr Lee. . . He reply then was, "We're wokin' on everything, Judge."
Santa needs to bring Jose a stocking full of organizational skills,, intelligence and a healthy dose of ethics. moo

...'member he does have the "color" coated charts....

think the big thing is jb doesn't do record keeping....no accounting....nada....nothing:loser:

I heard something about paperwork...so Dr. Ree won't take that clate of olanges...LOL...has he changed his mind on doing this pro bono?

It wouldn't matter with this reputation, the prosecutors will be all over him. I trust that they will do what's necessary to prove who the responsible party is for Caylee's demise, and it ain't RK....I'd like to know what became of the "hair" he found in ICA's trunk, which it still smells when he looked at it.

I'm thinking, Baez made this case out to be an innocent mother being accused of this horrible crime and now the evidence just doesn't support that and they have nothing to fight with??? Is Dr, Lee promoting any books? Seems those that left have that in common...after they hit the airwaves, made such a big rumble and roar, they have nothing to fight innocence with...I'm hoping that is the case...JMHO

ITA, EU...but ethics? Does Baez even know the meaning? Seems this attorney hasn't learned a thing after being held back from practicing law for eight long years...Maybe he should go back into the brazilian bikini company..Oh my...I can't wait to hear him fumbling for words in front of the people that count, the jury..JMHO

I think Santa might bring him some coal for being such a bad boy this year..he's not doing what His Girl is expecting him to do..he's fallen flat so many times, I'd have been looking for a different DP attorney after the first hearing..but he enables her so, he took up where CA left off...JMHO
