I understand what HGO is saying: I, too, have difficulty picturing him being the one to gruesomely butcher her, although I believe he killed her. (or, as alluded to today, drove her to her killer/s, knowing full well what was about to happen.)
But, how could multiple people keep so quiet? I know this sounds right out of left field, but, then, the whole case does to me.
 
Not defending anyone but who SC stayed with in Lahaina is none of our business. Neither is the answer to whether or not SC was kicked out of his Haiku home by his grandfather. Sometimes I feel like we get so involved in SC's life and his timetable in our pursuit for the truth that we forget there are innocent family members affected on both sides.

Everything will come out in time, this will be a long trial. However the tone of Charli's thread has taken on that of a witch hunt. Steven NK Capobianco is on trial, not Cassie or Matthew or the grandfather.
 
Loio, this was all discussed prior to SC's trial, and we're just trying to weave the bits and bobs together, much of which has been deleted from various internet pages so we're relying on memory. When nothing is going forward we speculate, sometimes wildly. The "what-ifs" take over. Usually it revolves around the various accomplice/no accomplice theories, for which we have no facts.

You're right, though, there are many innocent people caught up in this awful crime, whose lives have been turned upside down because of it. Thanks for the reminder to keep it all in perspective and rein in the speculation. These are real lives.
 
I was very interested in the "discovery issue" re: Matthew McCormick. I wonder if it means that the information about MM was not disclosed during discovery as it should have been? I hope MM wasn't directly involved. I don't know enough about him to draw any valid conclusions, but when MM disappeared many of his friends on FB referred to him as (interpreting/paraphrasing here) sensitive and kind/gentle. My gut, and only my gut, feels he was easily manipulated by SC. ----Jump on in here, PT, if I'm way off base.----
For his (MM's) sake, I hope he only has knowledge or a bit part in all this horridness, if any involvement at all. Two people with that level of depravity boggles my mind.

I have very old friends I would have a serious struggle with turning them in...ratting on...offering evidence against...not helping them out of a jam... and not going down with if it was not for my family that needs me more. However my friends would never be in this predicament.

You wouldn't turn your murderous friends in? Huh? Must be a wolf pack mentality. I'd turn a criminal in without blinking. I'd draw a picture, a map... snapagram, instachat... ALL OF IT!

Loio, PT said his friends would never be in a predicament like this so no reason to turn them in.
 
I would imagine if they had anything solid on anyone else there would have been charges filed.
I figured Apo is just trying to make sure that MM was processed through his interview the proper way before any of what he said is placed into evidence?
 
What was cleaned up on SC Facebook page? I still see the same things.
 
I had screenshots of all of his "interesting" FB posts going back to about the time of his girlfriend rage around September & earlier, up through the time if his meeting Cassie, and, unknown to me at the time, the break-ins, theft & vandalism, and then through the times of the murder, search and time of suspicion. That's probably what permanently crashed my iPad, har, so anyway, no more pictures...someone must have saved them, too...There were some very bizarre references to murders & mayhem from those times!
 
Yes, Steven had that meme or a variation involving bringing a shovel either on FB or Instagram. I have screenshot copies of all that stuff.

Re following the case from the beginning, I did as well, just not on this site -- didn't know of WS then. I remember from the first night the news broadcast a missing alert, Tuesday, I followed everything on MauiWatch, CharliWatch, news, Facebook, Statement Analysis, CJ's study page, SC's Facebook as outed by the study page. There were many discussions going on social media. I missed the MM and Cassie discussions though, and the skull painting, until I got here.

I am so glad I found WS and this group that is so dedicated, just saying these pages we are talking about were cross-linked like on Find Charli Scott's page, and they came up in Google searches too. A lot of people followed this case from Day One and still are.

Re Cassie, she is posting the trial news articles and not exactly commenting but was bummed about the no DNA. I think we can expect her to be a forthcoming and helpful witness. I don't believe whatsoever that she had any fault. She could not know, and did not know him very long. I think she was knocked for a loop and faced up to it. Her aunt is clearly very spiritually oriented. SC's cousin who was mentioned in testimony looks like a lovely girl (who was in Europe that fall). It is indeed sad that these young women had to deal with the shock of a probable monster in their midst. The same goes for all his family.

Re the GF, Steven told Loo he would confirm the time, but I don't know that we've had that or any testimony from GF. I do remember an article from last summer where he was quoted about the police arrival on Tuesday morning. That was re the motion to exclude the police interviews and how Steven was initially approached by Loo.
