Readlyn teen held in Fayette for kidnapping

WEST UNION -- A Readlyn teenager is in the Fayette County Jail accused of first-degree kidnapping.

Chad Fitz, 17, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant filed through the Fayette County Attorney's Office. He is being held on $100,000 bond in the Fayette County jail.

First-degree kidnapping is a Class A Felony, punishable by life in prison.

I am still up in the air as to whether I think the girls were luerd to and taken at myer or bikes staged. Have always leaned towards staging but waffle at times.

Wondering which girl suggested the bike ride. Whose bike was lyric riding? Her own? an extra at the Collins home? Was her own bike brought from waterloo in the trunk? If so, at whose suggestion?

Just questions rolling round in my brain. Not really expecting anyone to know the answers.

I read that LE removed branches and brush to aid searching the area. This is what I recall. I don't have a link and can't look for it right now. MOO

I agree. We should err on the sid of caution in this instance.

My understanding abou fb is no cutting or pasting comments. Comments can be paraphrased but ARE considered rumors. No sleuthing and linking of individuals pages who are not directly linked to case via msm.

In addition, RSOs public info can be posted but no harrassing of them.

We have two sticky areas to navigate here.

So lets be very very careful.

He hasn't been named by LE as a POI or anything so it's probably best to just keep him in mind...for now.

Her mentioning that they would have done something for Lyric makes me feel a little better with all that has been said about Lyric being kind of shoved back. I totally respect Lyric's parent's choice of cremation and of course that explains the time delay, so knowing this answered a few questions that have been posed.

I was also thinking they might be delaying Lyric's until Misty's out of the halfway house (January 30th IIRC - link was posted earlier today). I'm guessing they'd give her a "pass" or something if she wanted to have a celebration sooner, but IMO it would be very difficult to plan it, focus on it as much as I imagine she'd want to, choose music, put together slide shows, etc. from where she is.

I agree that my example is not likely. I was adding to the idea that a perp would need to turn off his cell phone. It would be much simplier to leave the cell phone at home if he was concerned about it. Whatsmore, no one knows that the perp owns a cell phone. It's all speculation. More ideas may originate from speculation and that's about all we have at the moment.

I don't agree with there being little foresight, however. He took two children in the middle of the day without being caught as of today. I believe that took planning to some extent.

I wasn't shooting down your idea specifically; only stating that the more elaborate explanations get, the more unlikely I am to buy into them. Let's say for instance that it was the RSO that everyone is talking about. Does that guy really look smart enough to even think about his cell phone pings? I now you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but look at him and picture someone that you do know in your town that he might remind you of and consider their intelligence level. I know that sounds wrong, but I can't help it.

As for planning, I don't know if it really takes that much planning. I hope this theory I am about to type doesn't get too graphic, because the thoughts are making me sick......Imagine two young perps that are pumped on something and they drive by these girls who are on bikes and one suggests taking them, they circle around a few times debating if they should or not and the girls make it to the lake. They park on Maiden lane and snatch the girls from the waters edge, Lizzy drops her purse and they escort them through the woods to their car. They drive off with the girls and head up to the 7 bridges park. They each take a girl and walk her through to the clearing do to them what I refuse to type. One yells "are you done yet" and the other responds with "almost, what do I do with her" and the first guy responds with "kill her, I snuffed mine" They leave and talk excitedly in the car what a rush that was. End of story. That scenario took no planning.

I thought what she said was she spent Wednesday evening with just misty. Was this the interview on Tv or did I read that on facebook?

So LE has officially come out and said that there is reason for parents to be cautious. Interesting that they would do that now. Makes me wonder if maybe a test result didn't come back with the answer they expected. Just speculatin'.

Maybe her definition of "quite some time" is "two or three days." That would be a while if you were used to talking to somebody every day. And if they were with other people, they might not have had a chance to talk to each other privately.

Did anyone else who has listened to this note these things as interesting (and the whole interview as heartbreaking, of course.)

1) Heather said that they (meaning she and Drew, as I took it) were going to do something (like a ceremony) for Lyric but Misty and Dan have decided to have her cremated and they can't do that until they have the body.

2) Heather said that she and Dan wanted something done now, a celebration, and that later when they bury the body they will probably do something small with maybe just the family - that it will just be bones that they are burying.


I understand that Elizabeth's soul, spirit is with God and whatever remains here, whether an intact body or skeletal remains are just that, and not her. And I also understand that it's possible there would be more decomposition as tests are done and they wait for the remains to be released, but I thought perhaps she was saying that there is not a very intact body as of now.

BBM: I can't even begin to think like that....can you imagine, the girl's family, friends, LE, the volunteers and even us NEVER knowing what happened to these two young girls? I don't know if I could take it :what:
