She's been gone for 3 weeks. I don't think she made it past week 3. There's been so much national attention. Her abductor unless he was a foreign national who could flee across the border unnoticed, would not want her to be able to identify him. It's too risky for him to let her go now.

Huh? My point is about the witness and what he actually said verses what people have added on to his quote and taken out of context.

I've seen several comments about MT - that she's in a stable relationship, she's a great, caring girl, and she's committed to her BF. And I think she probably is. But - she is 20. I remember back to being a 20 yr old girl - good, caring, and committed to my BF. At 20, or even 40 or 60, nice, caring, good people can find themselves questioning their relationships. Sometimes, someone will come along and provide an emotional need you may not be getting from your committed relationship. That doesn't mean you don't still feel those things for your BF, but you can find yourself in a very confusing situation.

I think it's possible that MT was in this particular situation. Maybe she was infatuated with someone else. Maybe she just enjoyed the attention she was receiving from someone. I have no idea if this is the case, but I do think she could have talked to this person every day and he would have known her schedule or plans for the evening. If he showed up at her house or during her jog and asked her to go with him, I doubt she would have reservations getting in a car with him.

He could have appeared to be a perfectly normal person, but his outside appearance could have hidden a monster. You see this in many murders - newlyweds and long married couples have found themselves in these situations.

I was sure she was alive in the beginning, but I have lost hope for that outcome. I hope they find her soon. JMO

Seems like this is the prevailing thought of posters. My theory, after wobbling for days, is still likely a SK, whether he lives close by or was driving through town looking for an opportunity. He was ready to strike.

He did not say “in town” in any reporting that I’ve seen. The original interview he says, “last person to see her”. Man fears he was last person to see missing college student

Well I’m not sure if there is an audio or video recording of the initial interview so that this can be put to bed one way or another, but according to the witness himself he said the last person to see her in town and did NOT say last person to see her “alive.” He May have just said last person to see her, period.

just because one camera is out at the coop doesn't mean all cameras were out. or they all could have been out. a lot of times it will be one camera that is out. depends if the camera itself is damaged or the recording device is damaged. there has got to be more cameras in that town too to help with at least part of the time line (there is a bank on Jackson st I know it would have cameras). I am sure LE has a lot to comb threw and that can be time consumeing. they may just now be finding enough of something to know what direction to look. I want to know something, anything just like everyone else here, but I don't want LE to say nothing that risk their case.

Mollie's mother said in the most recent interview that Mollie would often say she was going to come home for dinner, but not show up. It wasn't unusual for her to change her mind and not contact her mother.

That does seem odd given in other aspects (mixing up run routes, generally seeming very safety aware) that such a casual arrangement would be normal?

Do we have any locals here that can tell us if there is cameras at the High School, Bank, gas stations ?
I work for a utility company and we have camera's all over our building inside and out, wonder if there was more camera's or just the one.

Something else weird just popped in my mind as I try to consider motives not relating to SA:

I just recalled a case were a woman was killed at her place of work (totally different here locationwise I know). Her killer was female coworker. The motive was that she wanted to silence he victim because she had discovered her shoplifting at the yoga clothing store where they worked. It was a very violent and aggressive attack.

Just bringing to the table the possibility that maybe Mollie knew something, or saw something...maybe with the kids? Any chance she suspected something and maybe was going to report it? Again, sorry if this is out there and/or has been mentioned/discussed.

Thats what im thinking there is so much public attention so if this was a case of human trafficking ..would she be worth more for the fame or would they think is too risking and will just get rid of her body

Imo. I don’t think it was a friend. And I don’t believe she will be found until someone happens across her. It’s sad.

The DOJ, the agency in charge of the FBI has put much stronger procedures in place to limit contact between fbi employees and the media.

It is doj reaction to the tsunami of leaks surrounding Director Comey.

Although I have read state and local procedures that indicate media release of info for help, the non information might well be a new and much more stringent relationship with the press. As a person who dealt with media, and found them useful most if the time, I can’t imagine any other reason for le to remain so silent.

Not to be discounting the fact that some people are inevibly in fear right now, but you need to take anything coming from a Cedar Rapids newspaper with a grain of salt. Not even close to the same environment as Brooklyn.

I know what it’s like to have a person missing in the community. People are terrified. Especially when there is no arrest and recovery. I did not need that article to figure that out. Moo.
(Not being snarky or argumentative, :), I know you said you weren’t discounting some people being fearful.)

Im just wondering if it was someone she knows there has to be a message received or some kind of data. My sister is her same age and her friends dont just show up there is always a form of communication. The only people that just show up is family, my brother or my cousins. So im thinking in her case could be the same and no one will think its weird to see someone related to them around the property

That is what I am saying. If somebody sends the info and LE already have it, well great. If not, they have provided the LE with an important tip. More importantly, it lets LE (and not us!) decide who should and should not be considered a witness, POI, or a suspect ... and that is as it should be.
If anyone has tips, send them to tips@poweshiekcosheriff.com
