I really dislike unnamed sources. I’ve seen so much misinformation; it makes me skeptical when coming from an unnamed source.

But from the same article, BKs public defender is quoted:

Kohberger intends to waive his extradition hearing to expedite his transport to Idaho, Monroe County Chief Public Defender Jason LaBar said in a statement to CNN on Saturday.

“Mr. Kohberger is eager to be exonerated of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as promptly as possible,” LaBar said.

******
So, he’s going for “it wasn’t me”? Oh boy.
What unnamed source? CNN?

LE did such a great job. They’ve got him nailed no doubt. They knew they had their man following him cross country which allowed them to take anything he discarded- Dunkin Donuts cup, plastic utensils, discarded food, chewed gum, fingerprints on the faucet at a public restroom, on and on to test for DNA. And they could’ve done all that as soon as he came up on their radar back in Idaho. They get a match. Then, you have on top of that all that evidence that will further get him- the apartment, workplace, that car, and then all the digital footprints. His search engine history, did he search the home online, follow the girls on social media. So much. A treasure trove.

’I think he was playing mindgames like other SKs asking if any other arrests were made. He had it all planned out what he would say or not. I hope they make a deal with him to tell all in exchange for life without parole.
I agree. And the best part is he had no time to attempt to erase digital evidence because police did a great job keeping everything they knew under wraps. Even though it was very frustrating for everyone. Lol

This is a MsM newscast, 45 seconds in it is reported that SG sees a connection to BK and Kaylee but they aren’t ready to disclose it.

I’m too lazy to read back and see if anyone has posted this yet.
Been following this thread from the beginning, first time posting. Happy to see this nightmare individual arrested. Was just talking about this with my sister - could there have been an online dating app chat or interaction between KG and BK? They could have even met up for a drink to meet, with criminology a common interest - until potentially they meet and KG is not into it, with rejection as the triggering event. MOO of course (hope this is OK).

His path through academia has been a long circuitous one. I wonder about what his family thought and saw. Did they worry about him? Did their own areas of study make them recognize problematic behavior? Did he have any other work history aside from the part time security position many years ago? How did he support himself, or did his family assist? Did he live at home until he went out to Washington, or did he reside in a campus setting?

Did he believe that he would not be caught, or did it not matter to him, as long as he could go down in history? Was he nervous in these past weeks, or reveling in the comparisons to Bundy?

I remain curious about high school, and soon after. He was born in 1994. He did not get his AA degree until 2018--ONLY 4 years ago. And I know a number of folks who have breezed through an AA in less than two years.

Where is some data covering those gap years between say 2012 - 2018????

My guess is that the family knew a great deal...
MSM articles have show the drastic eating disorders, and other compulsions...
There are a few googly family cross-matches that do show a connection to psychology and behavior.... just saying MOO.. we'll certainly get more.

Scott Reisch, a lawyer youtuber (approved source) did a background check on BK (post-arrest) and found no social media. The records only showed that he owned a Kia, which was very similar to the Elantra model sought by police. Perhaps the Elantra is owned by a relative?
Or registered to his parents though it's "his car" ?

It’s possible that his particular quirks were accepted by his own family members (like in most families) and not seen as pathological, just seen as how he is, what he likes/dislikes. Accommodated. Tolerated.
It sounds like his pan request is not about meat/vegetables, but about exerting control over others.
IMO this behavior is analogous to kosher vs. non kosher kitchens. It's a way of life and I know many that are this committed. I also however, believe him to test the boundaries of his control by actions like this. Like everything, I imagine it's somewhere in the middle.

I wonder what the address was of his seatbelt violation in Latah County? On August 22, 2022?

<modsnip: No politicizing>

But still, I wonder if his happened near the house on King Dr???

He had to be doing something else that caught LE attention and then they noticed he wasn't wearing a seatbelt???

No one gets stopped for seatbelt violations unless they are doing something suspicious.

Was he surveying homes? What was he originally stopped for???

With the talk of potential drug use, I wonder if he started taking steroids.

Just my own theory, I've seen nothing to indicate he was on steroids and only hints that he was using any sort of drugs, and it was years ago. But he's a fit and athletic guy at this point, so it's possible. The idea of 'roid rage is what got me thinking in that direction.

Though I actually think it's not about drugs and more about mental illness, either plain out psychosis or something spurred by schizophrenia.
Do consider that in many cases, psychosis and even schizophrenia can be triggered by drug use. His prior or potentially current drug use could have done so. Even marijuana can trigger schizophrenia? Schizophrenia linked to marijuana use disorder is on the rise, study finds | CNN

What unnamed source? CNN?
CNN: “…sources tell CNN.” Names of sources not provided. Many MSMs do this, but there’s so much misinformation.

For example, a woman “expert” on a CNN panel last night was stating as fact that BK followed Kaylee and Madison on social media. However, those were likely fake insta accounts. That’s one example of misinformation…and it’s not just CNN.

IMO:
No doubt that he is going to enjoy the show. This is his Phase 2 of the crime -torturing the families, friends, and social group in general. And, continuing to demonstrate his “knowledge and skills”. I am certain that he is “eager” for this performance.

and maybe thinks he can beat the CJ system? He wants to go toe-to- toe with LE and show he's superior.
It all feels a bit ' Dunning-Kruger' ( he can't conceive that he's not super smart)

Through so many of the old friends and schoolmates accounts there's a theme of him wanting to outsmart others. Insecurity, self-esteem issues & control

edited to add
Him being registered with a political party with specific views on cap punishment & criminal law might also have some impact on his intent, going forward

The vegan angle got me thinking as it seems off for a vegan to own a huge hunting-type knife (if that is indeed what it is based on LE descriptions previously). I guess you could maybe cut tree bark with one of those, but really it is intended to kill, skin, and eat animal meat. So I guess we are assuming that because he doesn't eat animals it means he doesn't kill them. Is it possible he is vegan not because he wants to but because he has to? There is a tick bite that can make you allergic to meat, literally. Just a wild hypothesis.

There is also frequent comorbidity of schizophrenia and disordered eating (which this may or may not be...just here say from one person doesn't make it fact). I am NOT a mental health professional and am not attempting any type of diagnosis. MOO
Why would he need tree bark?

I think it's more likely since he killed 4 people with a knife, that's why he had it.

JMO

@Cindizzi Do yo still have that link to the quote from yesterday which noted that the Elantra he was driving was the 2015 model? ( Remember, that interview with the other MPD LEO, after the presser, and I 'd assumed that Coffindaffer had made a mistake but I had got it wrong. She was right?)
This should take you to the MPD FB page where the update was posted:

The 2015 Elantra is mentioned in the next to last paragraph.

Thanks, haven't seen this posted before. It's unnerving IMO to think about K's family early on saying she was a websleuth (see page 1 of every thread from Mods about this), and she was interested in following crime online & if that could be a possible connection as to where they could have crossed paths since he was getting a PhD in the criminal field. Eeeek

That's my fear is that they may have met or chatted online or in a True Crime forum.

I am 40 pages behind. But has anyone at WSU, that is speaking, mentioned any injuries? Like on his hands or face? Arms were probably covered with a shirt.

And are the Academics weighing in here at WS thinking his questionnaire was not in an official capacity, but for his own curiosity? I find that interesting!

Here are Brian Entin words from his Twitter account - tweeted 23 hours ago:

I am told when Idaho quadruple homicide suspect Bryan Christopher Kohberger was in custody — he “asked if anyone else was arrested.” I’m told he had a “quiet, blank stare.”

So, LE did not state the above, it came from BE's source. Yesterday's press conference LE would not confirm the above statement. IMO
Jeez that could have been told to him by the police station janitor... It doesn't even say he got it from a LE source. MOO

The part where the female student says BK hung around the library for 2 weeks asking people to do a survey about empathy ( like what would make them want to help another person) reminds me of how Ted Bundy would wear a sling on his arm or a fake cast on his leg and used crutches to charm/disarm women to help him. So creepy imho.

Not defending BK in any way, shape, or form but maybe he suspected or realized from a young age that he doesn't understand these emotions? Maybe he was trying to compare/contrast his thoughts against "normal" behaviors? He might be wired to function strictly on the intellectual/analytical lobe of his brain and emotion/instinct isn't experienced? Just pondering, all speculation and moo

If he was a POI before he left from Pullman to Pennsylvania, FBI must have followed him.

If he became POI after he departed from Pullman, then they must have checked if the car arrived to its address of registration, I.e. his parents home and watch him.

This is what was reported:
'Sources say that authorities knew who they were looking for and had tracked Kohberger to his parent's home on the 100 block of Lamsden Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Law enforcement sources told ABC News police in Idaho identified Kohberger as a suspect, at least in part, by using DNA technology. They tracked him to Pennsylvania through his vehicle.

The FBI had been watching the house for several days before a specialized team of state troopers and federal agents moved in and took him into custody around 2 a.m., sources say.

Authorities are still working to investigate how Kohberger was connected to the victims.'

One way or another, it is irrelevant whether he was followed all 2500 miles or was followed only during some part of his trip, or was not followed at all.

What is relevant is that he left DNA at the crime scene to enable charging him and that he is not free to kill again.

Pay attention to the last sentence of the quote, they still have to work out how he was connected to victims. That may means that noone from victims inner circles met BK, jmo. Which leaves social media. Scary

IMO - It might be relevant if they followed him all the way to PA. If he tried to get rid of the murder weapon along the way, they potential would know where he dumped it.

I wonder if he had been using other drugs, like meth, since moving to Washington? It could create delusions, violent activity, and exacerbate any compulsive behaviors. I've read that "Heroin" is quite difficult to come by nowadays with the influx of fentanyl, and that a lot of addicts are indulging in other substances, like meth, that are easier to come by.

He was a L***********( leanings that don't like mandates like seatbelts)

Maybe just out of state tags plus no seat belts.

Thanks so much.
Screenshots so helpful - I don't have a FB account these days.

@Seattle1 might want to put this in the Media/No Discussion thread?

Seems like a vital bit of info which will get lost when we're discussing why people around him might have assumed he'd been cleared, why he might have felt confident & will become an item his Def Atty is bound to seize on
