It's DeOrr officially, from what I've seen on the genealogy sites, if older family names are any indication.

Eta: Familysearch.org is what I use. It only lists deceased members of that line, so I hope it's okay for me to say that. I tried to alert my own post just in case, but my iPad tapatalk doesn't give me that option, so feel free to do it for me.

Also, on an earlier thread, I said familytree.org but I was wrong it's familysearch. Sorry if anyone noticed or cared lol.

Twin Falls County deputies are headed to Lemhi County to help in the search for our little Deorr.

I don't believe the abduction theory in this case applies. There has not been any indication LE is looking in that direction either. They are taking a rather basic approach with stating there has been absolutely no sign of him and are not even bothering to use the drones in a search/recovery effort. This tells me they are not looking at abduction, but other forms of foul play.

Could someone please direct me to where it states the dogs keep going back to the campsite? I haven't read that information yet. Thanks.

So...they ARE using drones then?

Huh.

This brings up a question. Can someone reference cases where drones have been the tool that either found or less to the MP? TIA
Excellent idea. Now I wonder if LE thought of this?

Thanks.

It also says:
They left last Wednesday, and took with them two drones, a Razor, and two 4-wheelers to use in the search..

I wonder if this is old news. :( It's Sunday now.

Im glad to know that I am not the only who mixes it up with familytree.org lol... :)

I am starting to think this will never be resolved and will be another cold case of a missing child. :sigh:

There must be some truth in what was stated earlier about the the drones being brought in and the reason being down played now if being used to document the area for evidence:

Sheriff Bowerman also confirmed that drones are being brought to the Timber Creek/ Stone Reservoir area but doesn't believe they will be used in the search. Instead the drones will be used to document the area for evidence if a trial in connection to DeOrr's disappearance is ever convened.

Possible, but I think it would be unusual for dogs to double back due to the original scent such as on the blanket. From what I understand the way dogs normally work is they get the scent from an object then find it on the ground due to skin cells sloughing off and oils touching the grasses etc. Some dogs are trained to only alert to scents in the air and others on the ground.

~~I wonder if the dogs started at the campsite (got the smell) and then followed it around a bit (Deorr was on the move) and it led them back to the campsite where Deorr returned (that might be telling)...or

...they started at campsite (got the smell)...searched around finding nothing so then returned to the site where the original smell was...as if D. went nowhere. Where's our SAR dog guy?

Drone Finds Missing Elderly Man in 20 Minutes http://news.discovery.com/tech/robotics/drone-finds-missing-elderly-man-in-20-minutes-140724.htm

TES case presented to FAA to continue drone use to find missing:

The team uses a remote controlled Spectra flying wing plane with a camera that can photograph “a square mile in less than 10 minutes,” according to the letter. The letter doesn’t mention the unmanned plane spotting any living missing persons, though it has “directly pinpointed the location of remains of 11 deceased missing people,” such as a 2-year-old who went missing in April 2012.

Oh man, they found the two year old by his red shirt. Which makes me feel discouraged about DeOrr again. [emoji19]

"Twin Falls Sheriff's Office The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office is assisting with our high tech drone technology as there is difficult terrain in this area that is virtually impossible to access by foot. The Lemhi County Sheriffs Office requested our assistance with their search efforts. We value the opportunity to serve the community where we live, and hope that we are able to provide the assistance that will help bring this search to an end. We like so many others pray for a positive outcome. We will keep you up to date. To answer a previous question, yes our guys left last Wednesday. We will let you all know how things turn out with regard to our involvement in this search. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!"

I hope they look in the eagle nests. Their nests are huge, up to 6 feet across.

He has blue pants on at least! Even if he took them off, they could still spot them pretty easily and at least have an idea of where he might have been heading.

Question: If I recall, they did use IR with the helicopter correct? If so, does anyone know if that was the first day? Were they searching in the 2.5 mile radius? Or did they travel outside of that range?

How would Deorr get to those areas then? Is it easier for him because he is a 2-year-old? Or could only an animal take him to those areas?

Personally, I do not think they are using the drones to locate DeOrr.
