Blue swirls.... :ghost:

I'm back from the trip and just sent 88keys a note about uploading the new pictures.

Something I figured out today concerning the blue wisps in the photo of the barn -- as I took a picture today I realized that I was probably holding a cigarette when I took those pictures. I didn't connect the dots until today and I'm sorry for causing confusion about those wisps.

The new photos will be posted ASAP.

quick! copyright it as a visual effect for movies, etc... Then you will get paid every time someone uses that idea in a scary movie! :twocents:

According to the Jessi Evans Memorial Page on FB, Brad Paisley and The Band Perry will be mentioning Jacob and Jessi at their concert on October 4th. And they sent each family a 4 pack of tickets to attend!

Guess who has a copy of the current Disclosure...:woohoo:

I haven't read it yet, just skimmed it, but the article is huge. I can't re-post the whole thing. Is there any specific info you would like to know? I will read it tonight and tomorrow and report anything that I find to be significant or interesting.

Just got back from vacation...

Nothing to report from article???

I'm sure you found something "interesting"....

I'm curious if there is more about the girlfriend. Of course, everything else too. LOL

The girlfriend of a double homicide suspect is accused of lying to law enforcement officials during their investigation of the case. Candice Brown, 30, faces a single charge of obstructing justice.

knowingly gave false information when she told White County Sheriff Doug Maier that Coston was with her on in the early morning hours of Aug. 26.

The murders are believed to have occurred during that time.

Sorry, everyone. Life suddenly got very busy, and then I got sidelined with a nasty flu bug. I have finally read the Disclosure article. It is exhaustive (over 3 full pages), but it's mostly stuff they had already reported on their website before the issue went to print. It also came out right after the preliminary hearing and before Candace Brown was arrested, so there is no real info about her arrest. A few things I found interesting (any bold emphasis is mine):

Coston apparently went to work every day during the week following the murders, and gave not even a hint of an indication that he was involved in them.

Coston apparently had a lot of support in the courtroom. However, that may die down some now that the full charges have been brought to light. I'm going to quote Disclosure directly here, where they talk about the preliminary hearing:

This set up a particularly opportune event for Webb (the prosecutor) to get just the basic facts of the case, as they were presented to him by those conducting the investigation, out into the public's eye, and maybe cause some of the Coston support to wane somewhat, as it was becoming apparent that details of the alleged crime, withheld from the public during the course of the investigation so it could be conducted properly, were largely unknown and only being spoken of in terms of 'rumors.'

Due to the unconfirmed nature of it all, the Coston supporters spun a lot of it; it appeared as though the details were possibly presented in such a way so as to shed some light to Coston supporters' 'spin'...and maybe make them think twice about saying such things as "he just had one bad night; that doesn't make him a bad guy," as one of his supporters on Facebook was opining.

Nine deputies were present in the courtroom, and the doors to the courtroom were locked.

Rhonda Blades was appointed by the court to assist Jerry Crisel in defending Coston.

Joseph Fishback, a friend and country neighbor of the Wheeler's was the one who found Jacob's truck. The truck was found off 1400E behind an old abandoned house. The house is where he raped and killed Jessi, and it also where he left the truck. It was not pushed down an embankment, and it was not deliberately covered with brush, as the searchers originally reported. It was in an area that was hard to find, but the truck wasn't impossible to see once one had accessed the house. In other words, Coston made no real effort to conceal Jessi's body or the truck. (at least, that's what I took from it).

The pieces of Coston's truck discovered at the scene were "three fender skirts, metallic green in color, and a black plastic piece from a fender well." It was not a bumper as some originally said. There was no blood on the truck pieces. ISP ran the numbers on them and they came back as parts from a 1999-2004 Toyota Tundra, same as what Danny Coston owns. Also, the deputies apparently could see a path where a truck "went down and back up." I assume they're talking about the river bank here. So there may be some truth to Coston's story about unloading his boat and getting hung up.

Coston was driven home from the Legion by a friend late Saturday night (or early Sunday morning- he's unclear of the time). After he got home, he got his own truck and boat and that's when this whole thing got started.

More in a bit- gotta tend to the baby.

After the truck parts were found and Coston was brought in for questioning, he gave three different stories.

The first was that he was at the river, near the campsite on Friday (I assume he meant Friday night or early Saturday morning). He said he tried to launch his boat, got hung up, and hit some trees coming back out. He said he saw no one by the river but did see an oilfield pumper truck in the area on Sunday.

During the second interview, Coston changed his story. (Warning: the following story is ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever- I'm just re-telling what Coston said)

Story #2 was that he was by the river late Saturday/early Sunday. He encountered a young man and woman (Wheeler and Evans- I assume Coston is still maintaining that he didn't know them) at a campfire. The young woman came onto him, and the young man didn't like it. They left in the Dodge and got hung up somewhere. Then Coston and the young lady had consensual sex on the tailgate of his truck (I guess she walked back? And her boyfriend did nothing about this? Like I said, it makes no sense). After that, the young man walked up to the area, and he and the young lady got into a heated argument. The man struck her in the head with his gun and then shot her twice. He and Danny "rassled" over the gun, and Danny got the gun away from him and shot him. He said he put the girl in the Dodge truck and left her there, then loaded the guy in his own truck and took him north of the interstate and dumped him there.

After the cops told him they had evidence that didn't match up with his story (like the blood they found inside of his truck,) Coston said "you've figured it out." He then said he would tell them what really happened. (It's still doubtful that this is the whole truth, but it seems to be the closest so far).

Story #3 is the one we already know. Coston came home from drinking, got his truck and went to the river. He did not have his boat at this time. He said he did speak to the young people at their campsite. No argument, no harsh words, nothing at first. He said he lost his vehicle parts pulling back out of their campsite. (How??? Doesn't say).

He then went and got his boat, went 1.7 miles south of the campsite, tried to launch the boat, got hung up, walked back to the campsite, and asked for help. They said no. Coston says Wheeler was "sh***y" to him. He did agree to give Coston a ride back home. Jacob drove, Jessi was in the passenger seat, and Coston was in the back.

The sheriff testified that Coston gave an excuse to get Wheeler to pull over, and that it may have been that he "wanted another drink." Others in law enforcement have apparently told Disclosure that the excuse was "he was going to be sick." Still unclear about this, but for whatever reason, Wheeler stopped the truck.

Coston shot him through the truck window (nothing was mentioned about broken glass, so we assume it was down). He pulled Jacob out and into a ditch. Jessi is of course screaming and pleading for her life, so Coston gets in and drives her to the abandoned house. He gets the truck hung up on a tree there. He rapes Jessi (he claims this was consensual), and then shoots her, once in the side of the head and then directly in the forehead. He then walked back to get his own truck and pick up Jacob Wheeler's body. He drove through the country to an area north of the interstate and disposed of it there.

Coston claims he shot Jessi twice. The coroner said there were three shots, but so far testimony only indicates two.

There were items found at the crime scene (some Old Spice body wash, an air freshener, and a glow stick). There was a receipt in Wheeler's truck for the purchase of the body wash and air freshener, and a glow stick similar to the one at the crime scene was found in Coston's truck.

There was nothing in the article about the girlfriend, other than that LE did interview her, and her and Coston's stories did not match up. She said she went to help him get his boat in the water on Sunday. She also told them she talked to a man fishing by the river, and he was in front of a small black pickup. And there were two hours where she couldn't account for Coston's whereabouts. She had not been arrested when the paper went to press. Hopefully we will find out more about her in the next issue.

Oh yeah- there was a small article about Michelle Wheeler (Jacob's wife). She said she never believe that Jacob was a murderer. She said he did have a temper when he first came home from Iraq, but he never put his hands on her or her sons. They did have problems in their marriage, but she was in the hospital for a month (doesn't say when) and he never left her side. And Jacob was apparently a specialist in disarming explosive devices while in Iraq.

Did the article specify which crime scene the items were found at? Was it where Jacob was shot? Or was it where Jacob was found or where Jessi was found?

Thanks for taking the time to write all this!

It doesn't specify. The judge asked the sheriff if there was any other evidence from the various crime scenes to corroborate Coston's story, and that is the evidence that was given. I would guess the items were either found at the campsite or the site where Jessi's body was found.

88keys,

:getwell:

:tyou::tyou:

for taking the time to let us know what was in the paper!
