Police today released a more recent picture of Timmothy Pitzen, the 6-year-old Aurora boy who has been missing since his mother apparently committed suicide inside a Rockford hotel room.

Also in the press release Saturday, police corrected their spelling for the missing boy's first name to Timmothy.

I will notify the mods to correct the spelling of Timmothy's name in the thread title.

Winnebago isn't along the Rock. More likely she ran into the construction on Route 2 and turned north to Winnebago. Local LE was featured on the news last night beating the bushes--did not like that at all. I want him found safe.

Thank you scottiemom. I'm not local enough to the area's she may have traveled and where they might have construction. I was thinking maybe she traveled along Rt 2 from the IL/WI border along the Rock river to the Quad cities bringing her near there, RockFalls area and then from Rock Falls ? way to Winnebago.

Can you be more specific on the area's where she might have encountered construction and which alternative routes she may have taken?

Thank you.

It seems more logical to me that this might not have been a planned out trip and that she could have stopped to buy clothes and toys because she didn't have any with her other than what he was wearing.

I don't think she packed for a trip, either, or even planned an overnight (or 2 nights) stay anywhere. I think she stopped to buy the clothes because she was unprepared and also just because it was colder up here and he needed something warmer. I also think that buying toys is a tip-off that it wasn't really planned, since they probably would have taken some toys with them from home if it were.

I noticed that Amy's funeral services were held at a LDS (Mormon) Church. Does anyone know if the family is LDS?

I ran across some obits from the past 10 years or so in Iowa for the Pitzen family, and the ones I saw were Catholic. But certainly anyone could change religions, or Amy and/or her family might be LDS. I would guess that Amy was LDS since she was buried from that church.

Investigators: Missing boy’s car seat was with grandmother

The possibility that it was with the maternal grandmother was brought to the attention of investigators on Thursday night, but detectives were not able to talk with the grandmother until Friday night to confirm that fact.

I don't know what it means, if anything, that someone other than the maternal grandmother brought it to LE's attention the car seat might be in her possesion. And that it then took LE another 24 hours to reach her and confirm the car seat was in her possession. It may mean nothing, but it leaves me uneasy that something so important in the investigation wasn't discovered in earlier interviews with family members of this child.

I hope LE plans on giving all the family members on both sides poly's to rule out any chance they have any knowledge of Timmy's whereabouts or who might have him. I know Mark Klaas always says LE MUST rule out family first and when his daughter Polly went missing he inisted on doing whatever necessary to rule himself and the family out so LE could focus in other area's. I'm not saying any family knows, but it would be nice to have all of them officially ruled out.

Good points. She had have to a bathing suit for him from somewhere. That she stayed at the KeyLime Cove prior to making the thursday purchase tells me she either packed somethings from home which include a bathing suit or she had to have purchased one prior to the Thursday morning known purchase in Racine.

I would assume they swam at KeyLime Cove on Wednesday when she checked in.

ETA: She likely had to have suits for both of them. I don't think these water parks allow a child to swim without having a parent swim with them. Especially a child as young as Timmothy, so she either had to have packed suits for both of them or purchased suits for them both along the way between the time she left Wednesday and prior to the 11:15am known purchase on Thursday in Racine.

I don't think we really know if she packed anything from home or not.

I think the missing car seat was solely a theory of LE's and one that we have learned they since 'ruled out' based on finding the car seat they believed was missing with maternal grandmother.

I don't think we can make the assumption she brought nothing from home based solely on the purchase made at 11:15am Thursday in Racine. For all we know she could have picked up belongings from home with Timmy after picking him up and prior to leaving for the Zoo.

IMO, what is confusing is how she made it from her place of employment without a vehicle, to getting a vehicle and having picked up Timmothy from school in such a short time window.

How she got from her place of employement to a vehicle may be an important clue in this case. Particularly who provided her transportation from her place of employment back to her vehicle.

Maybe her husband had picked her up from her job the last day she worked or someone gave her a ride home, so her car had been left at work.

Plus, it looks like her office and the school are very close to each other--within just a couple blocks.

Thank you MarthaM. I thought perhaps she could have walked or perhaps her car was still at her place of employment from the previous day. That someone looked to verify that is important. Thank you.

I think that there isn't the coverage on this case because everyone knows that poor Timmothy is in the same place as the Skelton boys from Michigan.

So sad.

I fear you are correct, Hester.

There must be one special spot in Heaven reserved for all the special children being murdered, by their loved ones and also by complete strangers. :(

Route 2 is closed south of Byron, you can get to 74, but all other traffic is diverted to River Road, the other side of the River, 'till you hit Oregon. Winnebago is north, right off of four lane US 20.

TY scottiemom.

May I ask, is there a lot of boating, canoeing, fishing, etc. on the Rock River? Part of me wonders if someone spending time in the area for recreational purposes will find him.

I hope that he's safe somewhere. But if not, yes, it's a beautiful stretch of river. There's a lot of float boats, fishermen, and boats pulling skiers. Last night we got some nasty storms, and the river might be up--that'll keep people off for awhile.

TY scottiemom. I too pray he is with someone and found safely but since we really don't know either way have to look at all possibilities. May be a lot of people out with this coming weekend being memorial day weekend. It appears the weather forecast has been updated and at least as of this morning the weather doesn't appear to be as dismal as was expected yesterday.

:praying: Timmothy is found safely and soon.

Respectfully snipped. Looks like you nailed it MarthaM. According to the following MSM article Timmothy's paternal Aunt mentions Amy did not take anything with her.

"I don't care who has him at this point, I just want him to be able to come home," said Jen West. "It's got to be traumatic for him, he doesn't have anything that's his. Nothing. She didn't take anything with her. No clothes, no toys of his, nothing. Their house is exactly the same as if they were to have gone to work."

Missing Boy's Uncle Says Mother Had Ohio Ties

Snip
Lt. Pete Inda confirms they were able to trace some of the travels of Fry-Pitzen just before her death from cell phone 'pings'.

The West's say Fry-Pitzen did have contacts in the Cleveland are even though police say they have no evidence to suggest the boy is in Ohio. His aunt and uncle believe he could be here as easily as he could be anywhere.

Heartbreaking article... :(

Incredibly heartbreaking. Also from the Fox8 article. Terribly disappointing LE is saying there are no new developments in the case. I haven't read anywhere, MSM or not, there have been any sightings of Timmothy. :(
And to read they were searching and had doors slammed in their face. :( How hard can it be to spend a few minutes taking a flier from the family of a missing child? Sheesh!

Still praying he is out there safely and comes home soon!
