Now its known internationally. I just cannot understand why RL was made into a media circus but the Mears farm barn search was unmentioned by media or LE. Why would that be?

Could it be as simple as since there was no home on the property,that the reporters just assumed it was part of RL's property? From what I have seen,these reporters ain't no sherlocks neither.

This comment was made after RL was apprehended on March 10 th. I notice nothing to indication anything has changed.

"Police also addressed rumors about the case that have emerged on social media from the public.

"When somebody says we've got an arrest here and when we don't, that can make people, that can make the bad guy feel more comfortable now cause they went after this guy and not him or her and so it can really mess up the investigation all together," Riley said.

So are you saying that the property across the street from Rl's is also his? It was my understanding that that is the Mears property and the barn in the video is across the street.

I don't know. Abby and Libby's case is high profile. But I kind of think his probation violation hearing was not. Coverage occurred but was not as widespread. Just google "R----- L---- hearing" (but with his full name) in the news search. One article comes up on the main page, that is directly related to that. But if you google "Abigail and Liberty" in the news section, tons.

And you know people keep talking about how Sheriff Leazenby escorted him for his "protection", but the only one wearing a bullet proof vest is the sheriff. RL isn't. if they were concerned, he'd be wearing one.

Similar distance as RL house I believe. Barn and silo are opposite side of the road to RL house .
Eta.I have taken "dump site" to mean crime scene not the waste transfer station, although answer would not change.

Didn't the "computer crimes" unit join the case fairly recently?

I have to think that the girls' social media accounts were the first things they went through. Even without the physical phone, all of their virtual footprints would be available to LE. I know this from having just bought a new laptop. I was floored to realize that ALL of my electronic bookmarks, passwords, messages, etc. could be brought up on my new unit, just by signing into Google. (I am still constantly being amazed by technology.)

Doesn't the FBI have a cyber crimes unit as well? I thought that may have been one of the reasons the FBI joined the case so soon. Since there was Snapchat involved and to check out the possibility the girls had been catfished.

Just wanted to make a couple of comments. One is in regards to the Sheriff escorting RL to his hearing. Based on the current situation RL is facing a double edge sword of threats. A BG sympathizer (if RL is a witness) or the Delphi lynch mob (guilty until proven innocent). Once Sheriff no more reindeer games like getting enough range time. The Sheriff is tasked with a great deal of admin duties and doesn’t get to shoot much. So, when the county LE needs to increase personal security for a specific inmate you put your best guns in the fight out along the perimeter. Such as far and near down the halls, entries and exits in and out of the courtroom. Getting some quality face time with the media is a plus for the Boss even though he’s currently getting more media coverage than he would care to.

The other is regarding the media coverage of the search of the barn located right across the road from RL’s property. LE is smart and IMO realized they had an opportunity to have a cover (RL’s SW) while searching the barn not located on RL’s property without a SW assuming LE coordinated prior permission with the property owners. IMO LE did the right thing and obtained a SW even though they did not advertise said SW. If any further evidence were discovered at this location it would render LE some investigative security. Or, it’s a possibility that the media didn’t even realize the barn was off of RL’s property. This knowledge is only known to the indigenous population. MOO

You might have a point. But I see no actual concern for RL's safety.

Another quote, this one from March 17 updated April 29th, especially for folks who have just began following the case.

"The property owner, Ron Logan, has been in custody since last week on an unrelated probation violation for a previous DUI conviction.

On Friday, Indiana State Police said they had developed more information that led them to request a new search warrant at the property.

"It's just a normal course of this investigation," said ISP Sgt. Tony Slocum. "We've served multiple search warrants so far. They can either exonerate a person or maybe require law enforcement to take a closer look."

Police had previously searched the property, and are still not calling Logan a suspect in the murders of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams last month.

So, you're comparing Google search results, a single scene versus an ongoing three-month saga? Oh, my.

That was what the camera seemed to show. But the grain silo and barn are on Mears land I believe.

Hi Giving, the barn that I am talking about is over the newscaster's left shoulder as he is talking. That is the barn across the street from the Logan property.
It is my understanding that that is the Mears farm.

RL's potential for involvement:

• He lives within sight of the bridge
• He was seen nearby at the transfer station shorty before the girls arrived at the bridge.
• He is familiar with the area where the girls were that day (has lived in the immediate area 53 years)
• He is familiar with the area where the girls were found (his property)
• He said he knew both families
• He lied about his whereabouts
• He is known to disregard the law

ETA: I am presently not of the opinion that RL is involved but I'm definitely remaining open to the possibility.

Apart from the last two this could also be any of RL's neighbours too imo.

Considering they had already had to move RL to another facility for his own safety, I'll continue to believe safety was a concern.

Or, there is the more cynical suggestion that he wanted face time because he's up for re-election.
