I have no doubt this is Parabon. And I doubt there's even a new "she". Moo. Jmo. Moo.

So, can Parabon analyze touch dna?? (Post #95 isn't clear to me on this..1 ng)

If not this says a lot. Moo.

"Not blue"...without sounding like a broken record, I think this is some kind of genetic lab rule out via parabon, etc...it just sounds like computer talk to me. Again, could be wrong, but just not buying this new witness thing. Just a hunch, moo. Again IF they determined this via DNA, any ideas as to why specifically they wouldn't want the public or the perp to know they have DNA. Tia for your thoughts.

Well said, margarita25.

Additionally: "We all know that DNA evidence can make or break a forensic investigation, but it's not uncommon for police to encounter DNA at a crime scene that doesn't match with entries in any DNA databases. But what if police didn't need any databases to track down a suspect? A team of Dutch scientists has now developed a genetic screen, called IrisPlex, that can help police determine with 94% accuracy whether a suspect has blue eyes or brown, just from a sample of their DNA."

SM is just plain bonkers. I am NOT going back there to FB. People are doing exactly the opposite of what LE told them to do and posting side by sides of everyone suspected of matching the picture. I hope that LE is able to ignore them and focus on the tips pouring in since the release of the sketch. And most importantly, PIN THIS dude to the wall! (End of frustration rant....)

If that is what they used why do you think that we don't have a color pic instead of the black and white, or brown and white? Also wouldn't they have an eye color?

Thanks for this margarita, I definitely think this sounds like it could b the cause of the sketch. I just want to know thoughts on why it took 5 months instead of the 4-6 weeks? Ideas anyone??

Thanks!

IMO DNA phenotyping is largely responsible for the sketch. A "witness" coming forward after 5 months makes no sense at all.

Turnaround time for a DNA phenotype sketch is 4-6 weeks. Most likely expedited in this case. That means LE has had this sketch for some time now.

The announcement of a "witness coming forward" is to protect LE from criticism for withholding sketch from the public.

Hey......whatever works to catch this guy!

If this type of DNA test was used, they would know eye color among other things. Also, it does not produce a sketch but a computer derived "snap shot". The sketch is from eyewitness accounts.

Maybe they did get this description and sketch from RL, hence his "involvement" in the case. They said over and over he was not a suspect, maybe he has been working with LE all along. Maybe that is why RL was escorted to court by the sheriff. Who knows...

They compiled this sketch from witnesses that saw this guy! <modsnip>

It's not out of the realm for RL seeing the perp because as we all know,in one interview he said"I just thought they got into the car like teenagers do".That being said,RL has blue eyes and the perp does not and per LE,RL is still involved but not a suspect. So it's entirely possible that he witnessed something or even the perp and was able to add to the description.

My posts are disappearing again so I hope it was saw that I read the part about the witness in the Rensselaer Republican newspaper and the Flora part from RTV6.

We need links for these claims. If there aren't links, it's not verifiable information.

I haven't read anything that indicates DNA phenotyping can 100% definitively determine eye color. I keep reading the words "predict. Perhaps you have other info.

I know DNA phenotyping produces a "snapshot" and not a sketch. I have a feeling the sketch was made from the snapshot.
I believe LE did this to conceal the unproven science of phenotyping.

I do not buy the "recent witness coming forward" story.

I hope this clears up my original post.

“This is in response to a witness that’s come forward,” Leazenby said of the sketch. “They sought us out recently.”
When asked why the person hadn’t given the information earlier in the now five-month investigation into the killings, he replied, “Good question. I don’t know.”
Leazenby said he wouldn’t get into specifics of the tip, like where and when the man was seen, but said the person basically said, “I have this information to share. I think I saw the individual involved.”

Can't be much clearer that it was a new witness.

bbm and snipped

Makes me wonder how accurate the description that was used to make the sketch after all that time had passed? Wondering if this is more of a hail marry than a we are closing in? Moo
