One outstanding question re DN. KN picked him up and took him to his sign-in on the 14th. Where did she pick him up from? That was Valentine's day so she would remember as we know she remembers watching the reporting of the murders on TV. :cow:

I've searched for a picture of DN with hair similar to the sketch. The sketch shows hair sticking out of both the sides and back. Seems every picture I can find of DN, year after year, is consistently very short, mostly buzzed hair. Hair that wouldn't stick out of a hat.
With DN back in Indiana I was expecting an arrest announcement, even though I haven't thought DN is BG.
The arrest hasn't happened. And the above is what I think back too. How accurate is that sketch that we've all been fixated on. I sure wish LE would release more.

I'm also curious why they chose that location for the press conference. It has significance as the drop off location, but it will be difficult to accommodate all the media vehicles that will likely be there. LE has planned for this since they're saying officers will be on hand to assist with media parking. It's possible so many vehicles parked in that area will be reminiscent of the day the girls were found. Is this meant to trigger BG, unknown witnesses, or someone who knows something but isn't talking?

Moving my post about the parabon sketch on Killing fields over here....

just watched an episode of Killing fields and the Parabon lab did a profile for them and omigod they had this guy cold.

so something stood out to me...the parabon has the ability to seek out red pigment in the hair and Identify reddish tones in the hair, also varying degrees of say not blue eyes, could be brown or hazel ( which I suppose is because of varying degrees of brown.

parabon has the extra ability to identify red pigment and to rule out blue in the eyes and Identify hazel or light brown.

so interesting...because the language spoken by the parabon technicians in the show matched the language used along with the BG sketch.

I am SO excited about the upcoming LE News Conference to be held at the trailhead on Feb 13. Hoping they will have LOTS to say!

Glad the thread is open again as there ARE new things happening as in the above ^^^^^ announcement re: LE/public/media meeting 2/13 at the trailhead.

I do not think there is a "leg bag" (as it is commonly referred to) in these images but some ppl do use them for urine collection. I see them often at the hospital where I work. Most often as in a temporary indwelling catheter (aka Foley cath) but sometimes a permanent catheter. Those (permanent) involve a "supra pubic" tube that emerges from an opening above the pubic area (supra means above). For example, some are born with "prune belly" (yes, an actual diagnosis) and have to either access a permanent ostomy every few hours to let the urine out OR use a leg bag when out and about, releasing the urine periodically via a valve at the bag's bottom. A traditional Foley has a longer tube and bag hangs below the bladder at the bedside. Again, I just don't see that here but who knows. I have a personal friend whose son was born with Prune Belly. There are MANY other diagnoses requiring a Foley or Suprapubic Cath or Ostomy bag or Leg Bag.

Again, just educating. I do NOT believe this is a leg bag we see here but that is JMO because IDK.

Of course Parabon would not know age or hair/beard length.
There is one DN mug that shows curls. There are so many though.

They have age progression software.. so it would make sense that they would progress the age to what they think their suspects age is.

Also didn't someone have a shot of the past/present POI with longer hair and it had waves/curls?

I think that LE sees the conference as a chance to get the MHB Trail location on national TV. I think they are now realizing that a conference room backdrop can't do what meeting at the actual location can do to jog memory.

In the first two pictures his ears look so different - really shows what tilting your head can do in a photo. I would’ve guessed those two pics were brothers. JMO

I believe this center picture above is the booking mugshot from Morgan County 2/24/17.

Also:

In general, I would have more confidence in LE downgrading DN as an active POI if I didn't know that major LE DNA mixups do happen. After his CO arrest CaCoS they said they would know more within a week after tests were run. Since that deadline passed he has been just "Not included or excluded"

A mixup of DNA at the crime scene had the LE going down the wrong path. The Delphi murder scene was infinitely more complicated to process than the Superbike store.

Safety improvements update

Abby and Libby's bodies were found less than a mile from the bridge. In light of the tragedy, the city put together a Trail Safety Task Force to make safety improvements.

"It was really a shocker to all of our community because we've more or less felt like we're a rural area and these places we love are all free for us to use anytime and didn't really have a reality check until last February," said Wabash and Erie Canal Association President Dan McCain.

The task force is now in the middle of adding lighting, cameras, informational kiosks and Wi-Fi. Mayor Evans said there will be cameras at each entry point. But, there won't be any along the trails.

"We can't put a security camera at every hundred feet," said Evans. "So what we have tried to do and the recommendation from the trail task force was, to put those security cameras at the entrance to the trails. So that we know who is coming in and going out."

"To set up a system that would retrieve and record information from the cameras requires a much different array of technology, much more cost," said McCain. "And it isn't something that we felt like even for trail walkers to think that they're being spied on all of the time."

The task force will also be adding trail markers at every tenth mile. That way if someone has to call 911 for help they can tell police exactly where they are."

"I think the added security measures will help people feel safer," said Evans. "And it will help give us further comfort and that we're trying to do everything we can to help keep these trails safe."
