They are the same. Red Crescent is the Muslim name, they operate under the same policies.

As posted above, the IRC which INCLUDES the Red Crescent operating in Gaza ... Is prepared to provide medication, provide they have access to the injured. Moo..I feel it was a separate pled, to save their family member.

No, the RC does not negotiate for release. They will serve as an intermediary. Moo...IDF request IRC, as did the good doctor evacuating the babies.

The Geneva Convention offers many "rules" of war, medical care, right to visit POW/hostages. Hamas makes the choice not to I hear to these rules.

(From IRC website)
Do you think the Palestinian Red Crescent offers babysitting classes? They're local and fit the local needs.

The ICRC works with hostages. The plain old American Red Cross does not.

They may be under the same umbrella, but they are different. I know a family is upset, but they are under duress. The ICRC didn't visit the hostages while captive, but Hamas needs to allow it. How can the ICRC find the hostages if Hamas doesn't tell them where they are. The ICRC stated on their website that their primary duty would be to provide transportation out of the Gaza Strip

That sounds like BS to me. No one was going to grab the five babies out of the doctors arms as they evacuated. They had 30 minutes to leave, plenty of time to evacuate the babies.

That is ridiculous to say that a doctor would leave the hospital to escape the upcoming gunfire and grenades---and leave 5 babies behind with the occupying soldiers. Most Doctors don't abandon babies and run for their own lives, imo. JMO
The were given DAYS to evacuate these babies.

The "30 minutes warning" is a misnomer. They were given their final warning 30 minutes prior.

From the link provided by Mex:
Al-Kahlot stated that he informed the Israeli occupation army officer, who warned them of the final evacuation, of the condition of the five children on respirators and that they could not be transferred, and he informed him that he was aware of this and would deal with it.

12 November (IDF entered Shifa Hospita on 15 November):
Same article dealing with Israel offering up the incubators and them offering to evacuate the babies themselves; offers that were refused.

An Agreement has reportedly been reached between Israel and Hamas on Extending the Ceasefire by at least another 24 Hours with only 15 Minutes Left; a List of the 10 Hostages which will be Released today is expected to be Handed-Over to the Israeli Government soon.

They've got 7 minutes..
Logged on to Al Jazeera to see what was going on. 24 hours only. Will need to negotiate every night, but no more negotiations past Sunday. (Didn't catch whether it was Sunday 7 am or Monday 7 am) At that point bombing will resume.

Deal reached to extend Israel-Hamas truce, Israeli military says

From Tamar Michaelis

A temporary truce between Israel and Hamas has been extended to a seventh day, Israel Defense Forces said Thursday morning.

This is the second extension of the initial four-day truce that began on Friday.

The truce has resulted in the return of 70 Israelis under the agreement. During the pause, three dual-national Israeli citizens and 24 foreign nationals have also been released outside of the deal.

IDF: Lull in Gaza fighting to continue amid efforts to extend truce, free more hostages

[...]

The pause was set to end at 7 a.m this morning.

“In light of the mediators’ efforts to continue the process of releasing the hostages and subject to the terms of the agreement, the ceasefire will continue,” the IDF says in a short statement.

As part of the agreement, Hamas will need to release at least 10 hostages for every extra day of the lull in fighting.

Israel in turn will also release 30 Palestinian prisoners for every 10 hostages.

Israeli official: If Hamas meets conditions on list of hostages, truce can hold

An Israeli official tells Ynet that “if a complete list is received that meets the conditions, we can continue with the truce.”

The official says it’s possible Hamas will meet the requirements.

Mediators are working to secure a seventh day of truce in Gaza and the release of 10 more hostages later Thursday, as part of an extended ceasefire agreement.

How many hours did they spend on this 24 hours truce? (They started this afternoon)

Then they're having to start over for Friday. From listing to Al Jazeera and reading the Times of Israeli, it looks like Hamas "could only find seven hostages".....Israel knew there were more out there.
But I guess they found them at the last minute? Or will they have different criteria for three of them? (Such as not children) We will see later today...if they make it that far.

Re: Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel:

IF they were killed in an air strike, which imo IS A possibility, due the heavy bombardment, them possibly being kept by other entities which could have been specific targets due to them being known as “crime families,” confirmation per the first released Russian hostage that a building collapsed during an air strike from which he escaped, and confirmation per Emily Hand’s account of being transferred from “safe house to safe house,” I was initially thinking that since it is being claimed they were killed in a strike, then Hamas/PIJ would/should know when and where that occurred. And then IDF should be able to go to that location and look for their remains.

The problems that occur are now are a few things:

#1: Identification of remains impacted by IDF strikes (intense study of ID’ing “commingled and fragmented remains” from 9/11, ones that have been been burned at high temperatures and have been pulverized during collapse) are extremely challenging.

#2: With the beyond immense amount of Gazan bodies perhaps mixed in with the Israeli hostages, as we know so many people packed in, identification would prove to be an extremely challenging task.

It is of course also possible some hostages are being kept as a get out of jail free card, so to speak, for future leverage for negotiating.

And of course it is possible they were murdered, with the terrorists falsely claiming they were killed in air strikes, as we’ve seen previously with the murdered Israeli Soldier.

All evening Hamas insisted on 7 hostages and 3 bodies. That’s all they could come up with. Israel refused because they know they’re holding many more living hostages.

ETA: According to reports. So IMO

Hamas says Israel refused to accept seven hostages and three dead bodies in exchange for truce extension

Hamas announced that Israel has refused to accept seven additional hostages, women and children, and three bodies of its citizens – also women and children – in exchange for extending the ceasefire for another day, starting from Thursday morning.

According to the statement, the three bodies belong to hostages who were killed in IDF bombings in the Strip. The organization further claimed that this number represents all the hostages in its possession, among the women and children held in Gaza.

According to the understandings between the terrorist organization and Israel, the ceasefire is supposed to end at 7:00 in the morning unless an extension is agreed upon. Overnight on Wednesday, the war cabinet convened to discuss the matter, but it has not been reported yet whether any agreements were reached.

Earlier, the military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, stated that its forces are maintaining readiness in case the ceasefire is not extended beyond 7:00.
