What stands out to me, is that without the help of the countries' populace, this might have been able to be resolved sooner, and the hostages rescued before now ?
(If Hamas had had the only option to gather them all into one tunnel or place, etc.)

Also curious if the people who are assisting to hide the captives are representative of the wider population of Gazans who are in agreement with Hamas ?
Frightening.
Based on the evidence at hand, it sounds like many are in agreement with the terrorists.
The Gazans really can't claim --either now or later-- "we detest Hamas , we refuse to cooperate, and want nothing to do with them".
Omo.
If an UNRWA teacher and doctor were hiding hostages…IMO there’s no doubt there are many collaborators.

It seems like each hostage has a different story. Sounds like they're kept all over town. Creepy...

Uncle of Israeli hostages Or, 16, and Yagel, 12, says heard terrible stories from them, they were drugged and treated badly

Yaniv Yaakov, the uncle of Or, 16, and Yagel, 12, who were released from Hamas captivity on Monday, told N12 news channel in an interview that "Two days ago we got the children back, they were released and told us about what they experienced in Gaza, terrible stories. "

"One example is that they took the leg of each child taken hostage and burned them with the exhaust of a motorcycle to mark them in case they ran away, so that they could find them. They were drugged, they were treated so badly, but they are with us," he said

ETA: MOO: I wonder if something similar happened to Yuval Engel's leg?

Father of Ofir Engel, 17, who was released from Hamas captivity on Wednesday, says he returned healthy, talkative and telling stories

analyzed their surroundings and could make out what was happening. They estimated there was a ceasefire, they were able to understand from the noises they heard."

Yoav says that Ophir told him that they were more worried about their parents than themselves

During his captivity, Ofir was shifted between five different houses, but he was neither blindfolded nor kept underground. Despite the ordeal, Ofir remained unharmed and is now safe and back with his family.

Amit Soussana's cousin who was released from Hamas: You see a scared girl, thin and in shock, it's a hard moment to digest

'Sounds as if there are terrorists-run hostage holders everywhere.

I am not sure to understand (post # 193 @Friday Fan) : "Sinwar demanded the factions hand over the family members to him and refused"

I’m thinking they’re trying to say Sinwar supposedly asked PIJ or whichever faction is supposedly holding Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir (bodies or alive?) but that faction refused to turn them over to Sinwar.

More cheering by civilian Palestinians for Hamas as it parades Israeli female hostages in Gaza.

(Terrifying. As if they haven’t suffered enough)

Why would anyone want these jeering, cheering Palestinians "free" to massacre civilians?? Oh wait, that's right... no one really wants them. Well, there probably are some like-minded who do want them free to do whatever they like.

Son of Hamas co-founder: Death penalty for October 7 massacre terrorists. Says Israel is victim of genocide "We cannot bend under global pressure no matter what. We have to eradicate Hamas. If we don’t, humanity will pay a huge price."

Mosab Hassan Yousef has one heck of a price on his head. He is very courageous and principled. I've listened to his speeches.

Following the Hamas announcement regarding the change in the status of the Biebs family, Arab networks claimed yesterday that there was growing tension between the various factions in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.

It is now speculated that the reason for the tensions between Hamas and the other factions in Khan Yunis focused on the 10-month-old Kafir and the 4-year-old Ariel Bibs after, according to the Palestinians, Sinwar demanded the factions hand over the family members to him and refused.

ETA: I don't know what to believe.

IF we are to take this at face value, then this would indicate Hamas knows exactly who has them. How can they “refuse” if they don’t have them.

Again, translation may be off.

This also says this is “speculated” and “according to Palestinians” (not a news source).

Also, this is the first I’m hearing, I think, about “tensions between Hamas and the other factions in Khan Yunis.” Has anything else been posted about this that I missed?

Regarding Noa…from the motorcycle kidnap video…have we heard anything about her at all? Her mom’s video is heartwrenching.

Wasn't she born in Beijing and therefore a Chinese citizen? Dual citizen I suppose?

I can’t recall China stepping up and demanding her release. Have I missed it, has it been done through diplomats, or just nothing from China at all?

If anyone knows.

For initial reference, from 2006 re: “Popular Resistance Committees”

JERUSALEM ISSUE BRIEF

Vol. 5, No. 24 17 May 2006

The Popular Resistance Committees:
Hamas' New Partners?

Lt. Col. (res.) Jonathan D. Halevi

  • Said Sayyam, the Palestinian interior minister in the Hamas government, has appointed the head of the Popular Resistance Committees, Jamal Abu Samhadana, to be in charge of building the core of a new Palestinian army. Formally, he will be under the overall supervision of the Interior Ministry.
  • The Popular Resistance Committees is a terror organization that has carried out hundreds of attacks against Israeli targets in the Gaza Strip and within Israel, and was apparently responsible for the roadside bomb attack in which three American security guards were killed in Gaza in October 2003.
  • The PRC, which espouses an extreme Islamic worldview, has formed a strategic alliance with Hamas and Hizballah, which help finance its activities and train its operatives. According to Israeli intelligence, the PRC also maintains contact with al-Qaeda, which over the past year has created a presence in Gaza and the West Bank.

I have been looking and haven't seen anything on her.

I don't believe China allows dual citizenship. They make you choose and renounce any other citizenship in order to have Chinese citizenship.
