I want to make clear Israel’s position regarding a cease-fire.

Just as the United States wouldn’t have agreed to a cease-fire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the terrorist attack on 9/11, Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities with Hamas after the horrific attacks of Oct. 7.

Calls for a cease-fire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism, to surrender to barbarism.

Strategically placed, ie 'Imprisoned in Gaza' to become 'martyrs'.

The IDF is not responsible for Hamas placing people deliberately above their tunnels, whether in refugee camps/high rises or in hospitals.
They were warned many days in advance and leaflets were dropped.
Now more than ever, these Gazans need to start rebelling, no matter the cost.
Hamas is deliberately murdering them, and it's not going to ease up.
It will never 'get better'.

If there's any 'underground' resistance movement in Gaza, hopefully they active now even as we speak -- and are helping the IDF !

'More than 50 martyrs and around 150 wounded and dozens under the rubble, in a heinous Israeli massacre that targeted a large area of homes in Jabalia camp in the northern Strip,' a Gazan health ministry statement said.
Bbm.
Again with the Hamas calling the deceased 'martyrs'.
Did it ever occur to Hamas that maybe some people do not believe in their cause, and don't want to die for them ?

Hamas says it will free some foreign hostages 'in the next few days'

Hamas’s armed wing said it would release a number of the foreign hostages in its captivity "in the next few days”.

Abu Obeida, a spokesperson for Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, said in a televised statement posted on social media:

The Israeli military earlier today raised the number of hostages it says are confirmed held in Gaza by Hamas to 240.

Hamas has so far released four hostages back to Israel; the IDF has claimed to have recovered a soldier, Ori Megidish; and Shani Louk, who was believed to be held hostage, has been declared killed.

Did Hamas manage to locate the 8 Russian hostages?

Agreed.
And, IF Israel agreed to a cease-fire (fortunately not going happen !); the Oct. 7th attack would happen again but on a much larger scale.
It's possible that in our lifetime Israel could cease to be a nation.

How long have we been living with the threat of Islamic extremism?? It's growing, and if you aren't one of them (like me)... we will likely have our eyes gouged out and/or be burned alive. I hope peacemakers succeed but it won't be without a LOT of bloodshed. jmo

Islamic Extremism in Europe

Well I remember the American hostages taken from the US embassy in Iran. In fact it happened Nov 4 1979, 44 years ago.

Jabalia is a tightly packed warren of narrow streets

Paul Adams
Reporting from Jerusalem

I know Jabalia well, having visited the camp in 1980 and many times since.

The largest of the Gaza Strip’s eight refugee camps, it's a tightly packed warren of narrow streets and breezeblock buildings.

Before the war, its 116,000 residents lived in just 1.4 sq km.

Its busy streets are a far cry from the tents that Palestinians first lived in when they fled or were driven from their homes after Israel’s creation in 1948.

It’s been hit repeatedly since Israel’s bombing campaign began on 7 October. The IDF has yet to comment on what's happened today.

It's not clear how many people have fled in the last few weeks, but today's pictures of hundreds of residents searching in the rubble for bodies suggest that many remain.

I was in touch with Asmaa, a young aspiring journalist, until a week ago. She said she and her family had decided not to obey Israel’s instructions for the population to move south.

"It’s dangerous all over the Gaza Strip," she messaged me. "There's no point moving."

A week ago, Asmaa stopped replying to my messages.

First bolded : Why so many civilians crammed into this high rise called a refugee camp ?
Yes, I know -- Hamas needs these human shields to die for them.
Hamas terrorists aren't any different from other cruel dictators.
Camps were used in WW2 for populations deemed 'disposable'. Corralling and forcing people to live in these camps is inhumane.
If the residents of Gaza want to live, they need to stand up for themselves.

But then there's the second bolded to consider ---

Second bolded : Maybe the Palestinians were driven out due to acts of violence ? From the shared video upthread (Thanks, @otto !); some kids are taught from kindergarten to hate and kill.
A lifelong quest to murder. Chilling.

Rafah crossing to be opened tomorrow for injured Gazans – report

81 Gazans with serious injuries will enter Egypt to receive treatment, the General Authority for Crossings and Borders in Gaza said.

Egyptian authorities confirmed to Gazan authorities that 81 people will be allowed to enter the country after being severely wounded, Reuters reported.

The latest figure comes after Egyptian medical and security sources said Wednesday that the Rafah border crossing would be opened for a number of injured Palestinians completing treatment in Egyptian hospitals, Reuters reported earlier.

Here’s more detail on that last post about how the Rafah border crossing will reportedly be opened on Wednesday for a number of injured Palestinians to complete their treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

Egypt is preparing to receive wounded Palestinians from Gaza through the crossing for medical treatment, AFP also reported, citing medical and security sources.

An Egyptian medical official told AFP:

Medical teams will be present tomorrow at the crossing to examine the cases coming (from Gaza) as soon as they arrive... and determine the hospitals they will be sent to.
A field hospital with an area of 1,300 square metres will be built to receive the wounded Palestinians in the city of Sheikh Zuweid in northern Sinai, about 15 kilometres (nine miles) from Rafah, they added.

An AFP photographer on Tuesday saw a large number of ambulances gathered at the Egyptian side of the crossing.

Israeli human rights organization condemns country's campaign in Gaza after Jabalya strike

Israeli human rights organization B’tselem condemned Israel’s campaign in Gaza on Tuesday following the deadly strike on the Jabalya refugee camp.

"The scale of killing Israel has and continues to wreak on Gaza is horrifying," the organization said in a statement.

B’tselem went on to criticize Israel's operations and the civilians that have been killed.

The statement added, "More than half of them women and children. Entire buildings have collapsed with occupants still inside. Whole families have been wiped out in an instant. This criminal harm to civilians is intolerable and the obvious needs to be stated again and again – not everything is allowed in war, including war on Hamas. Targeting civilians is always prohibited and Israel must stop these attacks now."

The statement was released shortly after an Israeli strike on the densely populated Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza caused many casualties, officials in the enclave said Tuesday.

I'm pleased that Egypt is setting up medical treatment area in the northern Sinai. I think they were probably pressured to do something by other Middle Eastern countries since they are the closest. I hope they aren't treating Hamas patients.

In any event, I wonder if this might be the first step that ultimately leads to a refugee camp in northern Sinai for Gazan refugees. If that happens, I feel for Egypt government and people, but it would be good for Israel.

Pro-Palestine protesters lock down London Liverpool Street station

Pro-Palestine protesters have locked down London Liverpool Street station as they staged a sit-down campaign during rush hour today.

Pictures and videos posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows the crowd of protesters chanting, cheering and clapping. Many were waving large Palestinian flags inside the station.

Demonstrators could also be heard shouting: 'Palestine will be free.'

When they (pro-Palestine protesters) impede ordinary people just trying to get home after work, going to work, going to a doctor's appointment or wherever ... they lose sympathy for their cause.
Here's a thought for the PPP : Why not go to Gaza and help people there, instead of punishing London residents who have done nothing except to try to travel around ?
If they refuse to actually help, then they need to just stop blocking traffic.
No compassion for protesters who do this.
They're an annoyance and that is all.

This isn't directed at you @Sundog It's just further comments on what you posted. :)

I think not only Israel, but this would be good for the world. Everyone wants someone to do something, but nobody wants to do the something. Israel has a right to defend itself. HAMAS is a terrorists group that is holding it's own people hostage along with the other hostages they brutally snatched up on Oct 7th. The world coming together to figure out how to help is what is needed because Israel has a job to do and that is eradicate HAMAS. While they are focusing on that, it would be great if someone could actually help instead of just saying Israel should do this or that.. cease fire and so on.

It's all fine when it's Jewish people being attacked, but when it comes to their front door, then they will want the help also.

The world is watching who is helping and who is just commenting on what they will do if someone else does this or that.

If you aren't with us, you are against us. Period.

It's getting old for all these countries to just want to stay out of it. Terrorism should never be okay and looking the other way is the same as agreeing with it.
