So yesterday. Missed a lot of the cross. Sick, job interview, Walmart, Shoprite. Sister calls. 13 & 8 yr old nieces home sick-can I make them lunch. Went over there. TV in small room off kitchen. Have trial on. Nieces in living room. Making lunch. 8 yr old grabs a snack table to eat lunch in LR. 8 yrd old hears testimomy (penis & ******* off). She says-"They said penis". I said "get out of there". Bring lunch to nieces in living room. They have the trial on. I was like "what are you watching". 13 yr old says 8 year old told her to put it on. I said take it off. I go back in TV room to watch trial. Very explicit sex talk. Mute TV...And hear that they STILL have it on. Aunt Linda takes remote and changes channel and has to keep checking that they don't put it back on! 8 yr old wants to know what trial is about. Gave her G rated explanation. 8 year old says "I hate when girls want the boys that don't like them"!! LOL!

Oh my! That is SO funny!

Regarding all this "we" talk...IIRC when JM had her add in that she stopped and stayed at MM's house. Didn't he also ask her if he went with her to DB's house or if she went alone? She did one of her pauses and Ummmmms to think about that answer and eventually said no. Now today she drops the "we". Accidental? Slip? Or...on purpose to tighten screws on MM bc she is smelling a rat?

:waitasec::waitasec::waitasec:

I've also been wondering if the "we" references are to scare MM and keep him onside. a little reminder that she can throw him under the bus too

Not that I think she's crazy but I thought she was referring to her multiple selves.:waitasec:

I said the exact same thing to DH tonight! I'm near-sighted but I can see license plates and cars. I need glasses to drive because I can't read tiny street signs until I am practically on top of them. If she really needs glasses for driving, the DMV will have it stated as a restriction on her driver's license. Besides, wasn't she wearing contacts back then?

BBM

This isn't true... last time I was at DMV (in 2010) I asked if I had to say "corrective lenses" since I have glasses to see "distance". DMV told me "no" because I can see without the glasses, so they're not "corrective lenses".

 Poor Jodi is gonna have to pay for her food! :boohoo:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says rising food costs, budget concerns will result in inmates paying for meals

PHOENIX - The Maricopa County jail system is believed to be the third largest in the nation, and soon it may be the first to begin charging inmates for their meals.

"Everybody else has to pay for food, why should they [inmates] get freebies," said Arpaio.

Was it ever brought up in cross why TA called JA a sociopath? Do you think we will ever find out? I think this may have been him telling her it was over for good, and she flew into a plotting rage.

It's listed on my license as corrective lenses, but I haven't renewed since 2010...

Hello everyone,

I've been an observer for a while, and recently decided to officially join. I just want to say you guys are all great, and I love reading what you have to say. Anyhow, I am currently a student, and my practicum work is with the domestic violence victim services unit in my city. I am by no means an expert on domestic violence but, I am often exposed to survivors, as well as the offenders. Initially, when I heard of this trial I felt bad for Jodi, I believed her to be a victim of abuse. One of the many things that changed my mind is the way she constantly says that she did things for Travis' EGO, to make him feel better as opposed to her doing things out of fear and in order to avoid a confrontation which would lead to abuse. I do believe her abuse theory to be a fabrication, very strongly because of this. Does anyone else pick up on this? What are your thoughts? Do any of you believe she was abused?
You're preaching to the choir, Alix! Lots of DV survivors here tend to view Travis as a victim in a stereotypical abusive relationship and Jodi the abuser.

Initially, as a DV survivor, Jodi had my compassion. But also as a DV survivor I was able to compare my experiences against hers (therapy, research and volunteer work as well with many other survivors). For me there were many things that didn't quite fit with well-established patterns of abusive relationships and very common markers in most abusive personalities were missing for Travis. However, not every case is the same and both victims as well as abusers can vary somewhat. The more I saw the more made me question. I've compiled a list of what caused me to question her account and ultimately discount it. Some of the list is derived from trial testimony and evidence - it just bolsters the opinion I already had formed by Day Two. The list, in its entirety, is at total odds with everything I personally know about abusive relationships.

  • Moved to the city of her abuser, a 10 minute drive from his house, 5 months after their 'official' breakup.
  • Slashed his tires.
  • 'Snooped' through his online social networking accounts.
  • Checking his phone texts.
  • Warning prospective girlfriends away.
  • Gaining entry to his home without his knowledge or permission.
  • Was accused of stealing his journals.
  • Knew, upon questioning, his ATM and garage pin numbers.
  • Was encouraged by Travis to date other people.
  • Showed elements of manipulation and gaslighting during their recorded phone call.
  • She recorded said phone call presumably without Travis' knowledge.
  • Her blog, begun after his, eerily resembles his. Her Myspace is almost identical to his. Her trackable online history shows a pervasive pattern of 'following' him online for several weeks prior to his murder.
  • She told no one of the abuse until she apparently called her mother to ask for help and even told her why - IN FRONT of Travis.
  • Photographic evidence of nudity and named underwear but absolutely nothing to account for the supposed violence he inflicted. (I'm an EA survivor so I believe there can be abuse without 'evidence' of it - but I can't reconcile having evidence geared to make Travis look bad while lacking it to support her claims.)
  • The beginning of their relationship, according to Jodi's testimony, is wholly and entirely inconsistent with every single abusive relationship with which I am familiar. To hear her tell it there was no Prince Charming persona and no escalation of violence precipitated with EA. He was violent from nearly the very beginning.
  • No attempt on Travis' part that I am able to discern at seeking to make the relationship more permanent. A cornerstone of abuse.
  • No attempt on Travis' part to actually isolate Jodi...but Jodi using sex to manipulate Travis ensured he couldn't seek advice from friends and family.
  • Jodi changed her religion to Travis' before the relationship even became official.
  • The abuse escalated very quickly for a relationship of only months - too quickly I feel, lacking the security necessary to inflict abuse.
  • She has used every common buzzword in testimony and showed aspects of quite literally every abuse on the Power and Control Wheel.
    Power and Control Wheel
  • The phone sex recording shows, proves, Travis was questioning whether they should be having sex. It also proves Jodi manipulated his concerns rather than validating them.
  • She lived 1000 miles away from her 'abuser' and was still unable, apparently, to come out of the fog.
  • Literally hundreds of online accounts of Travis' from acquaintances, co-workers, friends and family have shown me nothing to substantiate the controlling behaviors of an abusive personality. In fact, quite the opposite. I believe he was a sweet, generous, funny guy just trying to find his place in the world who met evil itself.

So sorry, peeps, for the length of this. Jodi's false claims of abuse is something that truly ruffles my feathers. :blushing:

 Poor Jodi is gonna have to pay for her food! :boohoo:

HA! I don't see any problem with this.

The was another article I read the other day where the Sheriff bascially said, if you don't like it, don't come here!!!

Watched Dr Drew. They showed an autopsy photo that I had never seen before of the shaved back of his head. It was heartbreaking to see. I think the prosecution needs to focus more on the crime. This photo clearly screams "rage" NOT self defense.

Could Matt have been with her at the rental agency?????

Also, a few other questions which may have already been answered:

How did she "have vacation coming" when she had worked for such a short time?

How could she afford the deposit that Budget sucks out of your bank account the minute you give them your debit card number?

Did Ryan give her any money or do we know?

Tks

paul something said he loaned her $ for the trip too.

JM was asking her about what they did after they were finished with sex. She said they ate some lunch, she took a shower, then Travis took a shower (we've seen the photos).

I understood JM to ask if she had taken that after-lunch shower in the stall where she LATER dragged and left Travis' body and she sheepishly said "yes". I was sure he was asking about a shower before she killed him.

I do not believe that they ever took a shower together in his bathroom. The shower was very small and there just would not have been enough room for two people. The shower was only 23-1/2" wide, which I think is the reason for the so called camera poses (I don't think he was posing except for the face shot) because to clean all of his body he had to turn, front, back a sideways anyway. In one of the shower photos where TA has his back turned to the camera you can clearly see both sides of the shower and he nearly fills all of that area by himself.

Good Morning one and all!
I have enjoyed the postings to catch up yesterday afternoon. Silly me laid down to watch the afternoon cross examination on the computer and fell asleep. I was so upset at myself for doing that. I should have known.. oh well!!! Of course, I missed exciting cross.. Murphy Law *sigh*

I am beginning to think Jodi knows she is sunk so why not just play with the prosecutor with passive/aggressive name games like cat with a mouse until she feel like finally giving up the answer. She knows she has to give it so she takes her time giving and plays around with her power games.

Hey when you "only" relate to men sexually and don't particularly "like" them, why not treat them like crap even while you are on trial for your life. The agenda is still power/control even if it is a little like holding off giving an answer.

JMHO

Well, I certainly do not beleive she was phyxically or sexually abused in any way, shape or form. And no one here believes it either. (forgive me if there are one or two here who do beleive it).

This story/lie of "abuse" and killing Travis in "self-defense" is just the 3rd lie Arias has told to to deflect "blame" from herself.

Arias is making a mockery of women who are truly abused. Shame on her, her attorneys and her paid domestice violence experts. Especially these DV experts who will testify on her behalf. If they are truly experts on DV they would NOT be testifying on her behalf. Shame on them for taking money to defend this liar.

Oh As I was reading the wonderful postings this AM, I was thinking how Jodi would have held up Texas Prosecutor Kelly Siegler (she prosecuted Susan Wright who stabbed her husband 199 times). Now she is a bull dog and aggressive. That would be really something to watch. Wonder how scrambled her brain would be with Kelly LOL Kelly would not put up with passive/aggressive at all.

Just something I was thinking.

Good Morning....I am so ready for today....just want to say my hubby's evaluation of the case after looking at a few of JA's photos...

"Dear, all they have to do is bring in a medical examiner and they will see that this ain't HER first rodeo"

I really hate when I can't sleep. Literally been up all night and then something else nagged at me from this darned case - Why would you run off and grab a gun, for self defense, that you didn't know would be loaded? She said when she found the gun the first time, it wasn't loaded right? I also was confused about her saying that she never saw her grandfathers gun, but didn't she say it looked like a toy? I am so confused, but maybe it's because I am delirious.

My thoughts exactly. She supposedly grabbed a gun from his closet that she would have had no way of knowing if it was loaded or not especially since it was semi automatic instead of a revolver. Most types of semi-automatic pistols rely on a removable clip to store ammunition before it is fired, usually inserted inside the grip.

another thought that I had last night about the camera......when she mentions that she couldn't figure out the timer on TA's camera...this means that she did figure it out. I agree with the poster about it being set on a timer.....set by JA

I read that too. Which is pretty much my take on it. Dont like the rules dont commit a crime that puts you in there.
