Does anybody know why this jury is not sequestered. This is a death penalty case, why are they allowed to go home ?

I find this case disgusting! The anal sex TA had with JA is insulting, horrible an inhumane, The fact that JA submitted to it shows she was/is crazy. Still, I hope she gets the DP!

She "submitted" to it? It was "insulting, horrible, and inhumane"? To her or to ... who? Everything I've ever heard is that they were consenting adults, who engaged in some pretty dirty stuff. They both liked taking pictures. Have you read anything she sent to him? If not, it will come out during trial. She was no passive wilting flower. What's disgusting is the slaughter and mutilation of this man who didn't want to commit to a lifetime with this "lady".

I would think it would have a lot to do with their short work week, in court three days sequester for 7.

I think the definition of 'using' someone implies - to me - that you're leading someone on, letting them think there is more to the relationship. I don't sense that he did that. I actually think he tried breaking it off, but she kept on and on and on. She was using him, playing to his emotions, trying to control/manipulate him -- with tears, trickery, and sex. I think he would not have kept pursuing her if she would have left him alone. So he was not using her in the traditional sense of 'come over and have sex, baby, but then go home'. They did have a bonafide relationship for awhile.

My question about Jodi and hair in the shower had to do with how in the heck did she get herself cleaned up after the carnage? If she was in the shower with TA, certainly some hair should have come off.

I just cannot imagine the mess and the clean up

I am not saying she "done no wrong". She murdered him, no question. I am saying let's not raise TA up on a pedestal of "man of the year" to be worshiped and portrayed as a sexual victim of a woman who controlled him.

~that's all...

He very likely was controlled sexually by him from evidence so far. No he wasn't a saint....none of us are. However none of this means he's the scum of the earth either....he reminds me of many men I have known.....and women......who are in dysfunctional relationships based on sex and not much else. Most of these eventually fade out as people mature and move on. Men in general (and many women, with no scientific studies to back this up of course.....speaking only on what I have seen in my life and friend's lives) can let great sex overcloud their rational brain. A lot of people have ended up in this situation at least once in their life. I have known a few otherwise great men who for some reason are involved with very manipulative women who use sex as a weapon of sorts. Without knowing him and seeing the evidence so far he reminds me very much of them-except this time he ended up dead because of his choices. I wish he could have read Gavin de Becker's Gift Of Fear and learner more on dismissing and ignoring red flags in relationships.

I had to miss some of this afternoon's testimony. Can someone tell me...

1. Have they played the recording where they told her they have her image on the camera so they know she was there?

2. I forget if Travis knew she was coming to visit or did she just show up?

I think you are right. Jodi really thinks she is smart but she really isnt.

She probably thought ok.....if I keep the receipts then LE will think these are the only places I have been.

But by eliminating June 4th she brought more attention to it instead of less.

I really think Jodi thought she could giggle and coo her way out of this with LE.

IMO

BBM

Reminds me of Scott Peterson and the Marina receipt.

At this point, where is the evidence to prove this???
As of right now, I believe the following statements from the defense attorney's opening statement:

Jodi killed Travis

BBM

Awww, you're kidding me, right?

Regarding the pic of TA crouching in the shower..Everybody has an opinion on what his expression showed and they differ cos we just don't know. I think he looked sad and maybe had been crying. Not sure if JA ordered him down. I have known a few Mormon men in my lifetime and some feel really guilty if they sin and a lot of them wear their hearts on their sleeves and do not think crying is unmanly. Well, lots of guys and gals also don't see crying as unmanly. Tears really flow at the Mormon Fast and Testimony meetings. My DH has six Mormon brothers and they tear up/cry easily.

Thought that popped into my mind was that after he had sex with JA again, he felt so guilty he had a good cry in the shower. Probably felt remorseful, told JA it probably should not have happened, she got insulted and flew into a rage. I probably should have not seen that pic of him because now I am wondering what he was thinking and I have no clue and should not even be speculating but I cannot help what pops into my head.

I wish the death penalty was carried out swifter than it is..sometimes is amounts to just life in prison. I sure wish JA would fess up...I thought she was looking really ill the other day and I expected her to break down and confess the details..but no, she looked much better the next day. This is the first trial I have watched so, pretty ignorant to the process.

I had my innocent child look at that photo having no idea what the circumstances were and her thought was that it was a dude trying to look "hot." Totallly serious!

BBM Yeah, but he sure debased her and enjoyed her, didn't he? No one is pure in this (ESPECIALLY whe you bring religion into the mix)

So they go home, watch Nancy Grace, Jane Velez, come onto this site, and read everyone's opinion, this trial is so high profile, every news channel has this on, and every news story has her guilty.

How can this jury be impartial?

2. Have only heard from miss margaritaville worker about this, so I have my doubts he knew

I had to google anal sex to see if women really enjoy it (I don't even want to *try* it to find out... :notgood:)

But I came across this page - so evidently it's not as inhumane as some folks would believe. Some women seem to really enjoy it.

I have a hard time believing that, if they did in fact have anal sex, that Travis would have forced it upon her. :twocents:

BBM: Yes, and this reminds me of a open letter of sorts I read on a FB posting from a Mom to her Son. Basically, the Mom was asking general requests from her Son and giving thoughtful life guidance. One gem that I really thought brilliant was when Mom asked that he choose his wife well and with a lot of thought. The Mom went on to say the reason is that his wife will dictate much of the future family relationships, in particular with the grandchildren, nieces, cousins, etc.
Yep, it surely is an important thing for a man to choose his mate wisely. I have a close relative that fell for a manipulative woman who used sex as a weapon before they were married. Now he knows she is as nutty as a jay-bird (and sadly, so is one of her daughters too; a carbon copy). And yes, the relations/friendships are all strained because of it.
Moms----> teach your Sons about this! Choose wisely.

They'll have to avoid NG, JVM, and WS for the time being.

Turn the channel and skip the articles online and in newspapers during the trial. Not easy but grit their teeth and bear it. They know it's big, they know people are talking, they know what's being said... this was all discussed with them during jury selection.

Judge admonishes them everyday before court begins and checks in throughout day. They know if something happens to contact the court deputy.

BBM Yeah, but he sure debased her and enjoyed her, didn't he? No one is pure in this (ESPECIALLY whe you bring religion into the mix)

Just curious as to who made the statements that he debased her. Where did all of the information about their relationship come from? This was a two way street. Jodi could have walked away, unfortunately she didn't.

My question about Jodi and hair in the shower had to do with how in the heck did she get herself cleaned up after the carnage? If she was in the shower with TA, certainly some hair should have come off.

I just cannot imagine the mess and the clean up

After hearing the testimony around the amount of blood evidence found in the linen closet today, I tend to think she dragged TA's body there and cleaned herself up before she put him in the shower. I don't see any other logical explanation for the amount of blood found there.

After that she dragged TA's body into the shower and cleaned evidence off of him too. She may have rinsed out the shower in between those two things.

If she did use that cup to try and clean up the grisly mess, she is not terribly bright. It's very difficult to get rid of blood. Traces can be found even when it's washed away. How did she think she could get rid of all of that using a cup and a few towels?
