So I guess you believe he went into the woods to relieve himself? The same woods he was afraid to venture into because of a dead snake he had seen. I have no problem with Mr. K, but be totally honest. He shouldn't be embarassed about sleuthing on his own. One thing that did bother me, though, there was no need for him to tell a national tv audience that LE was rude to him. IMO, it just wasn't necessary. Can you imagine how many people were calling and writing to LE? We should take a poll of the people here who did...then multiply it by a gazillion. He knew he'd be scrutinized. That would betrue for anyone. JMHO

Yeah - that thing about him and LE. I assume he is being honest, but it does cause concern I'm sure. To have got on national tv and said it - he must have a burr up his *ss. You know....

Wow i just read about Kronk arrested for kidnapping charges in the early 90's but was found innocent Bet ya the defense will run with this information

Yeah you are right something smells fishy here...

Kronk mentioned on GMA that he had worked for a long time as a bounty hunter and bondsman. I can accept that as the reason he was determined to investigate on his own and, as he said, solve the mystery of where the remains were hidden by himself. Swamps, the smell of decay, equalled good hiding place. He was right. Add to that KC's basic laziness.

I can accept that RK has never met any of the Anthony's and had nothing to do with the crime.

Hope he makes oodles of money relaying his story, if he so chooses. I see nothing wrong with that. It's a free country and inquiring minds wanna know.

(and of course he's got other photos! Maybe he will keep those on the QT as there is a question of ethics there)

:chicken:
Why should he get oodles of money for his story? This is about Caylee...not RK. I'm glad he found her, but what warrants him making a ton of money off it?

I knew this would happen. I knew the guy's story would be short and simple. I knew LE blew him off when they went out. I also knew that no one here would give hime a break. It is obvious he is telling the truth. There is nothing suspicious about his story. And, as he said himself: "no good deed goes unpunished." I, for one, would be hesitant now to help out in any LE matter if my life and motivations were scrutinized unfairly by people on the internet.

I agree with everything you say, except "no one here will give him a break". He's got a pat on the back from me.

It's funny (well not funny) but RK could have been any of us. I remember when NG had a specialist on and was analyzing KC's prison discussions with her parents and brother. I remember hearing "she is close to home". I remember the specialist commenting that KC is adding lies to the truth, so some of what she said is truth. Maybe this is why he was so concerned with the area. Look at what he said on the interview, a stinky swamp (not those words exactly) would be a perfect place to dump a body because the smell of decomp would be masked.

So here's this guy and he does his best to get LE to take notice of what he has seen. They blow him off and a deputy IS rude and tells him he's wasting their time, instead of thanking him for doing the right thing by calling.Months later he goes back to the spot and pokes further and, sure enough ,he had been right all along. But instead of getting a thank you he gets interrogated and treated like he's the criminal. The media starts digging in.
IMO he had every right to bring up the deputy and anyone else who had been rude....CUZ HE WAS RIGHT!.
LE has done a bang up job on this case.If the detectives in charge had been given this info back in march things might have turned out differently. But the personnel who dealt with RK were wrong and some were rude.
ETA: back in august the public was being begged for info.Even if you don't think it means anything,if you've seen something suspicious, call, because it might be connected. That was said over and over.

She deserved to be found.Maybe if a reward was given but to sell his story or make money off of a murdered child is wrong IMO unless it was donated to TES to help find other children. Its not like he is homeless. Myself I would not want blood money thats how I see it.

It is newsworthy. The network wants the story. If they offered me $20K to tell my story, you bet your sweet bippy I would take it. Sorry if that makes me look like a money-grubber, but it's just the truth.

They pay for stories. They pay for photographs. They pay for appearances. I just don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Do you think he should have declined the money? Really? I don't.

The only part I can not understand is why he did not contact Yuri. If it was me and no one took me serious thats what I would have done. I would have been very insisted the first time. I think thats why so many people are having a hard time believing him.I think the more times you call in about the same thing no one in Le would take you serious. Maybe I am just a pain in the butt who knows but if the police did not take me serious I would have called the media. I am sure some one would have come down and met me there to film the finding of Caylee.

A lot of people do call the media... in fact TV stations make entire franchises out of government ineptitude! You're right.. he could have done that. He probably just decided he didn't want to take that route, and there's nothing wrong with that.

As far as contacting YM, I don't know if he would have taken any calls that should have been routed to the tipline, you know what I mean? Procedure SHOULD have been.. folks call in good tips, the tips are heard and sifted through, YM and company are contacted.

It does sound suspicious a man that was arrested for kidnapping is the one to find the body of a child the mother said was kidnapped ironic..(even though i know Casey is responsible for Caylee's death you have to admit this is bizarre....

...and yet I could care less if anyone asked me questions...this is not about him...it's about Caylee. Wasn't it RK who divulged info about himself anyway? No one would have been able to get at those expunged records. They're NOT THERE. (at least that's what I thought expunged meant) I don't remember anyone interviewing him before today? So he's reading here? That's why he feels he's being punished. I'm usually pretty mild-mannered, but I have to say... "give me a break!" and "stop whining!" (not you...him)

...it at the very least peaks people's interest.

Poor Meter Man I bet he is sorry for doing what he did. Before the remains were found the question was asked would you say if you saw Caylee, and I said NO, she would be better off where she was. Looks like he should have just kept reading meters.

Apparently not far from where it was in December - stashed under a palmetto in a thickly-wooded area.

Did Kronk say it had been moved between August and December?

Here's the best I can do on this one:
GMA: Just take us back to how you went about discovering the remains.
RK:Well August 11th was the first time I was ever assigned that route and we got done with that route about 1:30, but we don't have to be back at the office until 2:30. So we found the only shady spot there was. And if you look at the place, that area of Suburban where the body was found, there's a swamp on either side of the road. And the only thing down at the end of that road is a school, the elementary school. So at that time, school wasn't in session. So the only people going up and down that road would either be maintenance workers or people like that going to the school, there would be very little or no foot traffic at all.
And I used to be a boarding officer in the coast guard and I also was a bailbondsman/bounty hunter for years and it just kind of made sense to me that if you were going to get rid of something like that, with the decay of the, the smell of the swamp decay on either side of the road, it would have been a great place to hide it.

GMA: And so, you make this discovery, you call 911.
RK: Yes.
GMA: And what was the response?
RK: Well, I called that night about 9:30, 10 o'clock. And they said "OK." And then, nothing happened, no one called me back. I called again the next night about 9:30, 10 o'clock, they told me to call Crimeline. I didn't want to call the Crimeline, I just wanted to stay as anonymous as possible, and so I called Crimeline, and they said they would have an officer meet me out there. So the next day when I got off work I drove over there, I called, the officer showed up, he pulled his expandable baton out, went down to the water's edge. I pointed in the area where it was at, and he just swept his head back and forth and said 'I don't see anything.' And pretty much that was it.
GMA: That was in August, and in December you go back to the same area, why did you go back?
RK: I had to to go to the bathroom. So I went in there and I looked over and I saw a shape that didn't look quite right to me... and when I pulled the bag up, I basically looked down and there it was.
GMA: Did you know it was the same area where you had found....
RK (interrupts): Roughly, yeah. Except there was no water there this time cause it all dried up.
GMA: And you called authorities again?
RK: Yes ma'am.
GMA: And this time they did find...the remains.
RK (interrupts): Yes ma'am.
GMA: Do you have any idea why, when they were there in August, nothing was found, but then returning in December, Caylee's body was found?
RK: Well, there was water there in August. And I guess the deputy didn't want to go out into the water to look at the bag.
GMA: Were you frustrated that you had made this discovery months ago and it took until four or five months later for it to be determined that it was her body?
RK: Well pretty much, I mean, the cop was like, I would say he was kind of rude to me and I just didn't really...I was trying to help out, I was trying to be a nice guy and I'm catching all this so I just didn't care any more.

Exactly right, he could have been any one of us. But I tell ya, I'm glad it wasn't me, because he can't win for losing.

He came forward with this info. It was domestic related. He was never charged and it was expunged from his record.

if the records were indeed expunged then why bring them up all..

He was not found innocent. There was no trial. He was not indicted and his arrest record was expunged. It had to do with ex girlfriend trying to get away from her new boyfriend. She called RK to help and the new boyfriend called police and said she had been kidnapped.
