I want to address something from the previous thread about the safety of Wichita. Someone had commented about an area of the city that is dangerous, and another poster was concerned about how that reflected on the city.
Without giving away too much personal info, I can confirm that there are definitely places on the north side that someone I know very well has advised me NOT to go, especially after dark. This is someone who's business it is to know these things, and I trust their judgment/opinion completely.
BUT, those are only small areas of the city, and do not represent the overall safety of Wichita. Every city has unsafe neighborhoods.

To say you need to run red lights in the area they are searching is just absurd. If there is anywhere you should feel concerned about your safety it is down town.
The previous poster was painting an unrealistic picture of what the area is like. It used to be very run down and was dangerous years ago. It truly has changed and if you disagree Im guessing you dont live in Wichita or you are not familiar with the area in its current state.
For those not familiar with the area here is a link to a GIS map that our county has:
https://gismaps.sedgwickcounty.org/sheriff/wgo/
You can do your own research here and see if its as crime saturated as others make it seem.
