The answer to that is that it depends...on how well it was cleaned...but it definitely could hamper the recovery of evidence.
And that is evidence that was already aging...
Since NH was a police officer and involved he will have first hand knowledge on how to clean up. That is disheartening....

But at least it is SOMETHING. I thought the case had gone cold, and I'm happy to see they are still working on it.

There might be something still to be found in that car - blood splatter, strand of hair, something. (Though with the LE connections, they probably know how to scrub evidence....sigh.)

I hope this is the break in the case that's needed!

Wondering what ever happened with the bodily fluids found in the trunk of IIRC Nick Houck's cruiser?

Prime suspect's grandmother in Crystal Rogers' disappearance refuses to testify

I wouldn't want to be questioned if I thought my grandchild were guilty of someone's death, but hopefully I would. This smells like protection of her family with disregard for Crystal and her family. Unless Grandmother thinks that the actual killer will blame her since it's her car. No telling what has been told to her. Or maybe she just knows them really well and can see the writing on the wall.

I've wondered a lot about that too! Nothing was ever mentioned again.

Whoa. I must have missed something big because I don't remember anything about a suspect being named, or that someone is charged with perjury. I'm lost!

"It all started with a statement that two men told the deputies in December of 2015. VN and DH implicated that DS was connected to the murder of Crystal Rogers. DS, who was in court for 38 counts of perjury during testimony in front of a grand jury investigating Rogers' disappearance, asked for a dismissal from the case and a lower bond."

Names removed and replaced with initials by me.

Houck was names s suspect in the fall IICR. And Singleton worked for him. Apparently when questioned he told several lies. The two other men were already jailed and charged giving false info about Singleton, most likely to lessen their own jail time.

Thank you! I must have been asleep. :)

Just musing on this recent information, it takes a lot of "something" to use your grandmother's car to commit a crime. I think we've all noticed the character of our main suspect and I must say, this behavior would fit. I hope this is the break we need in this case.

I don't think any of us that have spent countless hours, looking for, and trying to identifying these missing people would uphold a grandchild, that we think might be involved, and I love mine beyond words. But right is right. There's no way around right, and I have to look at myself every morning in the mirror...

Wonder when info about the car will be released?

idk, but I'm certainly interested to know if Granny Houck's recently sold car was a black Impala that is the car of interest in the Netherland murders. Time will tell, but I'm growing increasingly impatient.
