You are right they don't NEED LE permission. When you look at the assets that TES brings it makes TES's job much easier if LE is on board.

This does not change my initial point that there have been cases where LE does not want TES involved.

I know. And it annoys the piss out of me. Most LE never want PI's involved in a case either. Precisely the reason why some cases never get solved IMO. Because LE doesn't want anyone helping. If they don't find the perp...oh well. Stick it in the cold case files. It's off to write more traffic tickets and investigate hundreds of other crimes. I just think its stupid. LE doesn't have the resources to focus 100% on a case like this.

I look at it like this. LE is here for general law enforcement, to product the public and investigate all crimes to a certain extent before moving on to one of the other hundreds of crimes they deal with.

LE is like the general practioner/walk in clinic of investigations. And PI's/organizations like TES are the out of town specialists. Who do you really want to go see when you have cancer? University Medical Clinic or M.D. Anderson in Texas?

If you take a left onto St. Julien from St Landry that would be right on the side of the old OLOL hospital parking lot. St. Julien would take you to Johnston and there is no tattoo parlor there.

No, but it does take you to the parking lot of the Krooked Nickel -- the only bar in the immediate vicinity, unless I'm mistaken. The tattoo parlor is AAA, and they're on the other side of Lewis Street, if I'm remembering right.

You keep posting this without the caveat that there are two streets she could have turned on before Cherry. The Brashear route does not necessarily end up circling back to University. I've taken that route at least 10 times in the past week sleuthing there. (btw, lots of white trucks in that neighborhood but no Z71 that I saw)

If she turned on Brashear, she could have
a) taken a right on St. John
b) taken a right on Dunreath
c) continued on and jumped the curb to Cherry (your scenario)

There are a lot of huge houses in that neighborhood, as well as houses with those separate mini houses in the backs of them.

Two guys in my area were out by a local reservoir doing bathsalts and apparently they got so high that both were so high they didn't realize they were sitting inside the truck freezing to death. Three days later someone found them out there frozen solid.

I'm leaning toward either a vehicle hit her and then took her (OR) the same person that the other girl had that propositioned her after giving her a ride.
In the latter scenerio, I kept struggling with this.....If this same person offered her a ride, then how did her bike get dinged up.
How about this scenerio with that same guy......She begins to notice he is following her, so she gets nervous. He realizes she spotted him, so he rolls down the window and offers her a ride. She stops, turns around to see who is speaking with her, and then she declines the ride offer, but by now, his vehicle is right near her and she is getting nervous. She begins to peddle away, but he looks around and sees NOONE, so he immediately gasses it, and basically knocks her hard off her bike. He jumps out, gets her and the bike and is gone.

This theory solves the issue I had with how the bike got dinged. I kept thinking it may have been a drunk driver only, but this scenerio could be the same perp (as the other girl), and still end up with a dinged up bike.

My thinking is she accepted a ride with a complete male stranger maybe he could get lucky. If this man was going to rape her she wouldnt be talking about it she was IN HIS CAR!

How do we know that this incident wasn't a trial run on his part?

And, additionally, I don't think he's been apprehended yet.

Weird... I was thinking the same thing last night when I saw the news report on it, and I've been trying to comb through the whole thread I've missed to make sure it wasn't posted about.

I heard on the news report on bath salts that the salts cause irrevocable damage to the brain immediately, and it had me wondering if the users are changed enough to be unable to show remorse for what they've done -- I don't want to go into a whole lot of gory detail, but in the Scott, LA case above, for example, does Mr. C.J. realize how horrifying his crime is? And if not, then can you infer that if something DID happen to MS that involved bath salts, would that be part of why someone hasn't come forward yet?

Complete and utter speculation based on a couple of unrelated news reports, but it was an idea I wasn't sure where else to get input on. Mods, if you feel this is too much like spreading rumors, I'm sorry!!

IMO the bike gets dinged up when it is dropped into WB. There is a 20 - 30 ft drop from the bank into WB.

- The mace wasn't as handy as we think it should be
- She was not in a state to use it (injured)
- She didn't think she needed to use it because she felt somewhat comfortable with the perp
- She didn't get a chance to use it, everything happened too quickly

add this to the options: Perhaps she did use it and it escalated the situation. Pepper spray is no match for a gun.

Ooooh...not tsk tsk here, buut my spouse has a med practice here. That being said, & since I don't use my name, if I needed an oncologist I would go to MD Anderson. It's all in the volume you see..if I were in an accident in nola, I'd want the LSU Charity. You'd want a major trauma center, b/c they see more cases than a teeny town hospital. Not just MO

LE said that they thought the bike was "put" into the water, not dropped, because there is no where for a vehicle to pull over off the road on that bridge and get out and toss the bike over.

but if this was a trial run, why would he let an eye witness out of his truck, and then tell her he liked to troll the streets for pretty girls?

I think he is just an old perv looking for trouble and willing to pay for it. But he does not seem aggressive enough or violent enough to kidnap and rape and kill a young student, imo.
