How many witnesses is one allowed to call? This could be fun for DM. Seeing all his long time friends and acquaintances.

I think he may have seen her. She and his son broke up in March 2012. He said he saw her few months later. Maybe it was June 2012.

I’m thinking it was dismissed because Laura didn’t show up for court since she was missing?

I wish someone had asked him how the girl he saw in the nut store, was paying. He said she was at the cashier buying items.

I wondered if LE asked the clerks who worked there if one of them remembered a conversation with a young woman about eating hemp, and if they could remember anything else about her, or if they could find a record of her credit card, if she used one ?

I suspect this witness did not mean to mislead anyone, but he is mistaken, and a bit confused, possibly due to the bypass surgery, as mentioned in another good post above. IMO

That's right. He made that story up before charges were laid and before he knew about all the evidence against him. IMO he was paranoid that investigators would find more evidence about LB's death, such as cremains or her DNA. Or maybe he thought MS would spill the beans on him.

At that time, if DM thought there was a scenario where he could say LB might still be alive, then IMO he wouldn't have fabricated a story where she died and he stayed quiet about it.

BINGO!

The fact that he gave CN the DVR that contained the video of him and MS in the hangar the night of the TB's murder tells me that the contents of the letters are our only glimpse into what really happened. DM made sure that CN was wined and dined by Rabbit for months following his arrest. He really did believe he could count on CN, and those letters are the smoking gun.

CN knows more, and DM knows that. It was that knowledge that gave DM the confidence to leverage CN to help reach out to AM, and to trust her in his plan to frame MS as the lone killer. CN will never turn on DM because of what he knows.

I know I hoped, and I believe many others also hoped that LE would have collected DNA evidence to put closure to this horrific crime for LB's family. DM's letters to CN did it for me, and are as close as we are going to get to closure for the family. MOO

DM should have had someone sent a typed up letter from Mexico to Toronto police saying. My name is Laura Babcock. I can't just idly stand by and watch 2 innocent men be charged with my death. I am very much alive. However I live a new life now. Please don't look for me.

Some information has been clarified in MSM - GA wasn't sure if he saw LB in October 2012 or March 2013.

No not really, he said he was confused on “March” March was when LB and David broke up. He then seen LB a few months later, in October at the nut shop.

Ya he's messed up but he clearly would have made a good lawyer.

He found the expert guy and I guess the bookkeeper. This guy was found through disclosure when he talked to police. Not a rocket scientist move.

The crown must be laughing at DM discrediting his own witness in the end.

I really hope DM is almost done. Based on today, I don't think the jury will buy his story, especially since 2 of his witnesses folded under the Crown's cross exam. I might have missed other bombs, since I half-watched the tweets today, trying to work at the same time!

I think he seen someone but not LB! In Toronto there are a lot of hookers and if you keep walking down a street full of them, a lot begin to look alike! Skinny and look not well and same type of clothing. For Pete sakes, this guy couldn’t even say that was LB in the ACTUAL pics and video of LB!! Also she was an Escort not a hooker. There is a difference. Hookers stand on corners and look as described and Escorts tend to look/dress classier and don’t stand on corners looking like crackheads. Just ask MM how nice LBs clothes were!! I believe those pics of MM with tight blk dress was LBs cloths. All other pics of MM with MS in TB trial, she wasn’t dressed so nicely.

I’m also thinking that some of these witnesses were “coached” by DM but actually changed up their testimony on cross so they didn’t commit perjury in court. They all seem to be pretty certain for DM but Crown seems to get the truth out pretty quickly and makes them look pretty stupid!

I think DM was too busy doodling in court for TB trial that he doesn’t remember how good the Crown is!
