I wonder if this is an overture by Short to try and make amends with the local media. It seems like she's been trying to course correct quite a bit since she took on the case. Bill Stanton leaving, Ashely Irwin stopped speaking for the family (thankfully), allowing the boys to be re-interviewed, and her measured statements to the media. She's also going to do daily press releases - perhaps to plead for Lisa's return and try to keep interest and exposure?

I'm not automatically bothered by this. I think Short is facing an uphill battle at salvaging this, considering AI's spokespersons efforts and DB's tendency to insert her foot in her mouth every time she speaks to the media. This may be Short's way of trying to get back in good with the local media. Considering she's been practicing for a while, I'm sure she already has professional connections with some of the reporters.
BBM. If so, well her effort failed miserably.

From your link:
"The last few weeks have been exhausting to everyone working on behalf of the Irwin family, it has exhausted Lisa's parents and her friends and family," attorney Cyndy Short said in a news release. "The consensus is we call need a rest until next week."

Short issued the news release about 9 a.m. The tour of the home had been scheduled for 11 a.m.
Don't know where to start about this...SIGH.

Katie Ferrell just tweeted that ALL media events cancelled through weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! including this tour and preser more to come!!!!!
OMG!! WTH??

Could there be dessention (sp.?) among the ranks?

*I just wonder how long it will be before there is friction among them all. That includes DB & JI.

Maybe we can hope it is because the atty, parents and LE are all getting together finally. Not holding my breath on anything here. I dont really think this is the reason. Just dreamin.

WTF! Exhausting? They are exhausted with what? They aren't actively searching for Lisa. :banghead:

Very strange to cancel at this late hour!

IMO, they certainly aren't exhausted from talking with LE.
However, running and hiding from the law is apparently QUITE exhausting.

Does anyone else get the impression that Cyndi short is backtracking doing damage control so to say? She is now allowing local media in after family blocked or refused them, pressers after the others held limited pressers and avoided media so to say. Everything BS came in and didnt do they are now going back and doing? Just a weird impression I get from her. I dont know what to think of all this. Yes I seen a tour by her on another site...actually it was pics on the crankycrankerson photobucket site where she did a tour for GMA. I couldnt find the video but why go back with local media? Are they hounding them? Im so curious as to how this and the presser is going to help find lisa?? Please thats all the public wants to know- what to do to find the missing baby!!!! And of course everytime there is a weird presser by this family or those representing them something sensational happens in this case so whats about to happen?????

The local people, within about a 2 street radius, need to check their property thoroughly for three missing cell phones IMO. Why aren't the "team" asking them to do that? Maybe CS will mention it today. :waitasec:

ETA: Oh well...I guess she won't be mentioning anything today.

Does that also mean the boys won't be interviewed until Monday? I'm so confused.

That's what I wondered. And then my second thought was, they perhaps hammered out an agreement with LE, and canceled the media stuff because they are going to be busy working with LE. They wouldn't want to preemptively announce it, because there's no telling how the interviewing will go - but considering the details we do know of the case, interviewing both parents separately with an attorney present would take a few days.

Wishful thinking, perhaps, but a possible explanation.

I'm wondering a couple of things...

Maybe there is a break or leads in the case?

Or, maybe after Abeyta and Porter made their statements last night, it was an eye opener for the parents and they are reconsidering retaining Short??

BBM

I sure hope that's the case!

Seems strange that she would cancel a few hours before the tour was supposed to happen.

something hinky about the appointments all being cancelled. Either LE is getting ready to let the hammer down or they are working out a deal with whoever took Lisa. IMHO that is.

Maybe their attorney finally got a clue about keeping their mouths shut? Or maybe this is the result of previously signed contract deals that are exclusive. In any case, I'm not buying the exhaustion excuse.

That is a very good question. The implication is there...after all, they are family and "family" was in the list of those exhausted.

Within the first week, the parents were announced (to MSM) as exhausted, first it was to be just that one day, then another day. And they apparently were retaining legal counsel (who turned out to be the law professor who sat with them when we resumed "cooperating in person" with LE on 10/8).

Another attorney change or new "team member" being interviewed by the family, or is the "current team" just in a frantic huddle?

I'm leaning towards what other posters speculate...a new event or lead. Unless it's just another stall tactic of the generic kind.

According to the lawyer, all Kansas City appointments for Thursday and Friday have been postponed until next week.

So it sounds like the boys' interviews are cancelled.

Just saw your post.

OK then. Very interested to see what happens next.

Exhausted??? I would bet that those of us at Websleuths, who sit here and type on these threads are more exhausted than anything the parents are doing! STALL...STALL...STALL...the longer this goes on without finding Lisa, the more difficult it will be to figure out how she died. DB admits that she watches missing child cases...she's no dummy! This makes me sick!
