The defense doesn't have to prove ANYTHING at trial.
The burden of proof is on the state to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the crime they are charged with.

I love the idea of separate bedrooms and bathrooms. I like a lot of private space and value silence/solitude so much. It's nice to have separate bedrooms when one just wants to be alone doing his/her own thing. I don't need it but I like it. I hope! my future other half doesn't mind! :blushing:

Summary ~ She and Bobby Juarez dated for two years, she says that those 2 years everything was fine. Then he became abusive, tried to strangle her, he was videoing the incident, and has a tape of her telling him she wanted to kill him (after the strangulation attempt).
She believes that JA was also abused, Bobby often spoke about JA and how much he hated her.
She doesn't want JA to get the death penalty because JA's defense of PTSD could be valid.

MM was Jodi's ex boyfiend.
When she left Yreka on Jun3, one of her stops was at his place.
From what I understand, she confided in him alot.
He was also also one of the people Jodi contacted in her alternate reality after Travis' murder.
I believe he as going to testify for the DT earlier on, but he went and posted stuff on the JA is innocent website, and was part of the "magazine" fiasco. (Secret writings in a photo magazine, that was passed from Jodi).
I believe he knows alot more and there has been speculation he will be testifying for the state in rebuttal; in other words- not so much on Jodi's side anymore.
But, that is a rumour and no where does it state he will be testifying.

It is my understanding based on my interpretation of hearings, closed hearings and court minutes, etc. that:
Victoria Washington, JA's previous atty filed a motion to withdraw (Dec 2011)due to issues with a possible witness MM, (She represented MM for a prior issue) after an Evidentary Hearing Aug 8-9 2011. Motion was granted. JA represented herself the 2nd time (Aug 8-15 2011) and the issue of the forged pedo letters claimed to be written by TA were being addressed (June 2010). A handwriting expert Rosemary Urbanski testified at a closed hearing.. Also, Jean C. reported, I can't remember her exact words but something to the effect, that apparantly JM told MM if he testified about the letters (which were i believe validated as forged by Rosemary Urbanski and were not originals so not admitted but are sealed) than JM would bring him up on perjury charges. (May 2011 Defendant's motion to compel re: Attempted Interrogation of MM) IMO, MM is the one who forged them. I also believe JA's coded message in the magazines, which was confiscated by jail guards, was to alert MM to tell HER story and not the truth in the upcomming hearing.
This dude had seemed to disapear off the face of the earth. Several ppl have noted he is nowhere to be found on the internet. No clue what he looks like. Gone into hiding i suppose. JA claims he would never betray her. Whether or nothe is called to take the stand or, if he does take the stand, he tells the truth or lies for JA.... is yet to be known. :fence:

She's fasting? Didn't she have Nurmi make a big huge deal about her not getting her lunch a few weeks ago? She looks AWFUL... about 15 years older than in the interrogation videos and TV interviews. Whatever they are dressing her in + those hideous glasses make her look even worse. It's great!

I personally don't find it entertaining but if you do more power to you.

I think she wants to be found guilty so that when the verdict is read (or maybe she'll wait and do it during the sentencing when she has a chance to speak), she can make a complete scene and start vomiting her hatred all over the court room. It's BOILING up inside her and she cannot WAIT to tell people how she really feels.

I have wondered about this myself quite a bit. I think the only way was the element of surprise. I think he thought she had left the house and she came back in. He was in the shower and didn't hear her. Maybe she swung open the shower door and started stabbing. Going for the heart area first. jmo

Those shower photos were so posed. He let her convince him to do them just like he let her convince him to do the naked photos on the bed and have sex.

I don't get why so many people are stuck on believing that he would just never do any of that. He ALWAYS did through most of the whole relationship. He knew she was stalking him, slashed his tires, snooped in his phone, email, and who knows what. He knew she was sneaking into his house and hiding in a closet or somewhere to spy on him. He knew all of this but he kept making up with her and having sex with her despite all that.

Just like usual, the day she killed him she weasled her way back into his good graces, they had sex, they took photos of each other naked, she coaxed him into the doing the shower photos, and then she killed him by a surprise attack.

Besides, Det. Flores said there were a number of other photos in the bedroom of them having sex. They've not been made public and probably weren't shown in court because they aren't necessary for trial (the naked ones are sufficient) and probably considered too pornographic. Could be that the prosecution wanted them all in as trial exhibits but the defense was able to keep them out because of their not being necessary to the case and being too pornographic. The naked photos alone were good enough for both sides to agree they had sex before she killed him, so the photos of them having sex just isn't important. And if they had sex and took naked photos of each other, than what is so impossible about his agreeing to have her take shower photos of him if she wanted to?

I think a lot of people here just can't come to grips with fact that despite what he said in that email to her that he once again succombed to her, they made up, had sex, took sex photos of each other, she convinced him to do the shower photos because that was a big part of her plan to get him trapped and vulnerable in order to kill him, and she did just that. Even in that email he wrote her calling her a sociopath, etc., etc., he STILL gave her an out... if she didn't do xyz then he would tell all those people whatever it was he was so angry about.

Makes sense. He didn't cut her out of his life. He still called her after that.
If he really wanted nothing to do with her then he would have not returned any of the calls she made during her road trip. I think the poor guy was much too naïve and kind. He didn't imagine for a moment that Arias could be capable of murder.

I thought that attractive women were less likely to get the death penalty? I swear I heard something like that at the beginning of the trial, that JA was so beautiful and that it would be harder to convict her. So why is the DT uglying her up?? Do they pick her clothes or does the jail supply them? Regardless, there is no fixing her face... which has aged substantially. And those flashes of evil she gets! I wonder if she sits there thinking about how hot she is and how beautiful everyone probably thinks she is or if her confidence is gone and she knows she looks like crap.
