i agree and TEETH photos

This might be a dumb question, but why not just release a post mortem photo? Maybe she doesn't look like the photo and someone would recognize her actual face, even in death? I mean, I know that's gruesome, but what have they got to lose?

Teeth photos would be very helpful when trying to rule out girls.

I wonder if another artist could do her pic. Just to get another view out there. It's hard to believe no one knows this girl.

The baby's family must also be incompacitated because no one seems to be missing a little girl. Its astounding that no one has come forth.

I think it's a wall of silence/I know what you did last summer thing. The whole may be involved or think they are involved so everyone shuts up.

I think you're close, but IMHO it's a community that's keeping quiet. I still think the parents are illegal and don't dare come forward for fear of being deported. Admitting that she died accidentally or of natural causes and having a proper burial may not be worth the rest of the family being sent back to wherever.

All 85 billboards will be in Massachusetts...looks like they are pretty certain baby doe is a local or at least people who can help them are.

Well this is encouraging. I wish they'd put a billboard in neighboring states on the interstate rather than all in the Massachusetts. But I'm glad they are doing this. That's a LOT of billboards!

Also, interesting us the dead woman found. But an article saying they have a tentative identity makes me think she's not related to Baby Doe. Furthermore, they say that unless her death is related to a crime, they won't release her name. It's been 3 days and they haven't released her name, so I'm thinking suicide as they also said no visible signs of trauma. How long would it take for them to cross check baby doe's DNA with the woman? The Harvard bridge is only 30 minutes from deer island.

It's very unlikely that a post mortem photo would ever be released. People in New England tend to find them extremely offensive and disrespectful.

They plan to install 84 digital billboards in 50 locations!!!

"Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office are working with MassDOT to expand outreach to the public through digital billboards seeking assistance identifying the unknown toddler whose body was found on Deer Island last month."

WOW

MOO

Dang it. I mean, it's fantastic the lengths they are going to but this means they aren't getting anywhere. I was truly hoping they had some significant leads.

BTW, the digital bulletin boards they're talking about are already in place. They normally display ads for auto villages, casinos, and discount jewelers, but the company that owns them will donate space for public service.

it is not something i would want to see, but they arent getting anywhere with this composite.

maybe a few different composites then? and teeth.

If we still have any LOCALS:

Is there any speculation or chatter about the woman found in the river beneath the Harvard Bridge being linked to Baby Doe?

It sounds like a suicide because they said no apparent signs of trauma. It is 30 minutes from Deer Island.

Yes, out here in the suburbs rumor is that it's suicide. No, I haven't heard a name. Yes, there's been some chat about connections but right now every death or crime in the six-state area is being linked to Baby Doe. Which is good in one way. I don't think anything's going to slip through the cracks.

It's not uncommon for people to commit suicide off the various bridges, and there have been a couple of bodies over the years too. Oddly for an area completely surrounded by and dotted with water, not very many bodies are put in the water, though. It's more common to dump them in an isolated wooded area, or bury them on a sandy beach.

I'm on the fence about releasing the post mortem picture. I can't imagine seeing that plastered everywhere...on billboards, all over the media, etc. most of the time you have to seek out those pictures if you're interested.

I was just poking around on Facebook. I can not believe that the Boston P.D.'s page does not have one single picture or mention of Baby Doe. :banghead:

The Boston police department isn't involved. The body was found in Winthrop, which is an entirely different town, also in Suffolk County.

So NOT a dumb question! IF she were a "fresh, undamaged" body, there might be a way to present her (think stillbirth/neonatal memory photos) BUT I believe that her physical presentation after damages from the environment (elements, "greenhouse effects" of the bag, et al.) rendered her difficult to view/recognize.

Publication of autopsy photos of minors is regulated by State law, in most jurisdictions.

Thanks carbuff. Good to know. Glad everyone locally is connecting potential dots

any new news in the limbs found in Connecticut? Was it Connecticut? Totally reaching here, but doesn't the Long Island killer often leave limbs and or torsos rather than always full bodies? And doesn't he use bags? Maybe baby doe belongs to the person who's limbs were found?? Didn't he kill a toddler in the past? A daughter of a prostitute?? Totally reaching, I know. Until we have more clues, my brain is storming
