Found Deceased MA - Jaimee Mendez, 25, Swampscott, 6 Nov 2014 - #1 *Arrest*

This has probably been asked and answered....but does anyone know how long it was between Jaimee's last phone call to her friend and the time the RSO was seen by someone?

I'm trying to get a feel for how far he might have traveled with her. I'm sure you all don't need a geography lesson here, but he could have taken her over several state lines in a relatively short amount of time.

I also wonder about the condition of his van and how road worthy it is? Another thought....there are quite a few toll roads around here. If he took her out of the area, it seems like he should've been caught on camera.

Sorry for babbling....just thoughts I'm having.

He supposedly met up with his girlfriend at 10 (she confirmed this), and the last call was at 7:40. So 2 hours and 20 minutes, if the GF isn't lying. So if it was him, and the GF is telling the truth, he only had a couple hours.

The 4 hours comes from the last time he claims to have seen her (6PM) and when he met up with his gf (10PM).

Still hoping Jaimee Mendez is found and brought home to her family, her son, her friends and community, where she is much loved and missed. May those who know, or know of those who know of any information that may help, be moved by their courage and any decency they feel to share that information. Jaimee Mendez may no longer be alive, but the living who have any knowledge that may help, I hope they find it in themselves to do the right thing. It is very real the idea that the truth shall set you free. I can understand that there may be fear and intimidation that they may face to keep silent, all the more reason to share that information and seek safety now, then wait for those who are causing that fear and intimidation to get more desperate.

May what's right and the love for Jaimee Mendez prevail.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I just saw this.

I am about 30 miles north of Lynn, on the NH border.

We got about 6-8 inches of snow here. Don't think we are expecting any more for the time being. The weather patterns are weird here though, things can change quickly.
It is pretty cold right now.....26 degrees.

It does look like we are expecting a bit of a warm up starting tomorrow. So the snow should melt and conditions should be better for searchers.

Hi Xara, I live about forty minutes north of you, and I hope searchers are taking advantage of this warm-up with temps in forties yesterday, and today pushing fifty. I imagine it would be even warmer down Jaimee's way. Unfortunately, the temps are going back down and they are predicting more snow for my area, so time is of the essence.

Sadly the organized searches from LE have only been a few days early on per MSM and the only info we see now is through the FJMFB page. Although they are currently encouraging searches the feedback on the page is minimal. There has been a change of admins on the FB page and it appears they are just trying to catch up. Also per FB Aunt "B" who has been in the public videos of late is no longer on FB.

I pray this is not going cold with LE and hope with all my heart Jaimee's family has answers soon.

Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokeswoman for Essex County District Attorney John Blodgett, explained that there are practical reasons to keep the details of the police effort, especially search locations, under wraps.

"If any readers have information relating to her disappearance, they should share it with the police,” Kimball-Monahan said.

Glad to see the family is focusing on Jaimee's son, Jayson Newton. The investigation is still deafeningly silent. Maybe the family and LE could provide a pre-holiday update and appeal for leads and let people know how to help best they can, as all keep hoping this 25 year old diabetic mom is brought home to her family. A family, who have come to believe she is dead and disappeared not by her own will, after last calling for help while with the RSO, disposed of somewhere nobody will say, still to be found.

Absolutely! Her little guy needs all the attention and support her family and friends can give him. He's adorable but must be missing his Mama so badly.

I can't get it out of my head that Jaimee knew she was endangered and someone kept her from getting to the safety of a friend who cared enough to drive to her aid. Oh, she was so close to getting out of this situation. It burns me that no one has been arrested yet. Maybe all our prayers will change that. Gotta have hope.

Yep. Very quiet. I see Jaimee's dad, Steven Mendez has maps up for searches, flyers going out, her son's first Christmas without her, and more. It's hopeful to see she's far from forgotten, much loved, missed and sought. LE made a strong appeal for tips from readers, otherwise hush. Thank you for posting.

I thought this case was going to be way different then this. I had high hopes Jamie would be found quickly and an arrest was going to be quick.

I am hoping by Christmas both of these are true. I hate to see this case just go cold after we know evidence has been found. Jamie didnt toss her own stuff in the dump or ditch her own phone, the suspects DNA on her items might not be enough for an arrest ,or her dna in his vans either. I hope they find something they can use ...

Frustration, anger, Jaimee Mendez still so lost to all but those who aren't saying anything to help find her, no arrest/s, and what sounds like passions running very high under extreme stress, maybe even fear and obstruction, seems to me, to have gotten in the the way of making finding her a everyone on one page thing. Who knows what it will take? Whatever works, I hope, to bring this young mother home, get justice for her (as soulmagent states, she didn't most likely willingly dump her clothes herself), and of course to help her son and family persevere through this storm that's hit them at the core in every way.
