Back to the German teacher who saw a German-speaking girl at the Apolonia supermarket in Gale, Portugal in 2017 who had the same blemish in the right eye as Madeleine. Towards the end of May 2007, Sharon Booth also declared a sighting at Gale with a 4-year old girl, a man and a woman in an ‘old, green Renault car’. If you look back at CB’s packaging/box factory in Neuwegersleben, there is an early 2000 model, green Renault parked inside the building. Cf. attached picture of said car, Sharon Booth’s statement in the PJ files and an early 2000 Renault, green model. I am assuming that the Winnebago that police found was also parked here?

Exactly. I've said this before, but what would be the purpose of keeping that secret from the world? It blows the case open, gives the parents some certainty after 13 years, and could lead to a critical witness coming forward. If that video exists, then CB knows they found it. All this supposed tactics of not charging to keep evidence secret makes no sense.

What specifically would they gain by revealing that at this point in time? They've admitted they don't have enough evidence to charge him yet so it makes perfect sense to not reveal their evidence while they are still searching for more. Doing that would only help CB and FF, there is absolutely nothing to gain from it. It just heaps a whole load more pressure on the police as the media goes wild. Also, it may be that video was uncovered as part of another ongoing (possibly undercover) investigation and to reveal it would jeopardise the source and that case.

They've made appeals on very specific things to fill in the blanks of what they need, I don't see why the revelation of a video would help them get any of those pieces. Why would a witness suddenly come forward based on there being a video and not now?

Ok, I get the argument about closure for the McCanns but its clearly about getting the conviction first and foremost, HCW has already said that. We had another story in the Press yesterday from an unnamed source close to the McCanns. If they were to be told about a video, could BKA really be confident that information would not get leaked to the Press at some point? I don't think so.

Your assumption seems very plausible to me. To remain as silent as possible, not to jeopardise other investigations on a bigger scale, seems legit.

There are a lot of successful investigations here in germany by now, according big underground paedo-rings. And there should be new clues day by day, that have to be investigated.

Didn't Lina return with 2 Ukrainians, one named Ivan on this occasion. NF also mentions in the police report that Lina had run away previously which this article seems to be reporting on.

IIRC, yes she returned home with 2 Ukrainians according to NF (official version) and was brought back by CB according to locals. She had already fled a few times in Albufeira downtown but only a question of hours at most. Police papers mention Ukrainian nationality according to Lina, who could only name one of them by first name only. She was later found pregnant. SF called Lina but she didn't want to cooperate.

According to this, MS says the camera, which he stole from CB, used tape to record videos. Thus IMO the camera he stole cannot be the Casio Exilim (because the Exilim does not use tape).

That's been reported as a camcorder too.
Whatever model or make it was, it was reported to have been destroyed, the footage was not shown in court at the rape trial.
Another camera was found at the box factory-the exilim.

How does revealing the single video, say discovered in his stash at the factory, compromise any other investigation? The prosecution case will be that he made the video and that he is the abductor. Nothing else is compromised.

Well, that is the Question right. So i can only assume, that L.E. maybe won't come out with some footage from the darkweb by now, because most of the suspects in the paedo-ring case would start to erase their drives and destroy any evidence, before they have been investigated?!

I don't know and yes, the whole case is odd.

Im not 100% but I believe the EXIF data on the files informed LE of the Exilim camera model. LE found USB sticks, usb cards, mobile phones and computers, but I don't think they found a camera at the box factory.

LE most likely had the Exilim already in their possession from the Kiosk raid in 2013

Maybe BKA came to the conclusion of CB could be linked to MM while investigating the Bergisch-Gladbach child-*advertiser censored* ring in 2017 and it has nothing to do with HB and Neuwegersleben at first.

Maybe CB keept the footage in a physical way just until 2013 when he was interrogated for the first time and destroyed it. But the footage had made it's way to the dark web before, in a non physical way. So HB's testimony could just be another part of the puzzle.

So what exactly is the benefit of charging earlier rather than later? On a major murder investigation with the suspect safely behind bars I'd want to know they were dotting every i and crossing every single t before charging. I can't understand the problem with letting them so their job thoroughly.

If the evidence is video based then there may we'll be other things to investigate. Like who may have paid to watch it.

I was just trying to point out that two different devices are known of.
The rape video device (discarded) and the exilim camera which LE have.
