DR was born in Lagos, and was there till 2015. Then he went to London. But, of course, he may be visiting Lagos in 2017. CB was living in Lagos on May 7, 2017.

Where this date appeared published?

Was there a specific event which placed CB in Lagos on May 7th 2017 Heri?

mystery ( kind of ) solved!? "Cops hope to link soil found at the reservoir to Bruckner's van"

so they have his van (we know they examined it forensically a few months/ a year ago...), soil from his van, and photos all relating to MM jmo

Do BKA think Madeleine was initially buried at Arade dam but then moved on a later date, hence the need to examine sub-surface soil?

Looked at those clips earlier .. so was locked and loaded !
Thing is though, they are dated 2014 which I think is around when the letter began being discussed on social media. Nothing at all mentioned prior to that so far as I can see and had it been reported it would have been in police files since the case had not been archived by the first anniversary.

Can you explain please? Has the excavated area been submerged in interim years?
There is always accumulation of soil as years go by. They want to compare the specific soil they have with that from Arade. The best way to do it is to go back in time by taking samples from below the surface. Interestingly, if there was blood there at some point, specific bacteria would be seen in the soil.

Eta. There must be something of greater significance in the soil samples they have from his van that has led them to get a search warrant and have 30 officers at the scene than just establishing that CB spent time there. Jmo

Eta2.the brown paper bags we saw are usually used for soil samples

I don’t know if this is even possible but, could they be trying to match dirt found in the fibers of the swimsuits found in CB's van to the dirt samples taken from the dam area in Portugal?
Of course it is possible. Forensic soil analysis has helped solve many crimes lately - collecting soil samples from fibers/clothes and matching them to other soil samples from crime scenes/suspects' cars/boots

I can only get the above link opened in part, so there is no guarantee it refers to Portugal.
The one below is Portugal. So maybe a beach party?

BIB - Agreed

They might not need a search warrant for that location. Permission might have been given.

your eta1: that seems like a v good point.
finding soil only in the vw, of a place cb visited frequently would not be much use as evidence.
soil plus e.g. blood would be significant - and could even answer the 'concrete evidence of killing' riddle.
