Part of me thinks the same thing. But you'd think that radar SOMEWHERE would have picked up the plane. Is it possible for a plane to fly completely under the radar like that? The plane also only had enough fuel for 7 hours of flying time. If it didn't crash, it has to have landed somewhere. But again, a plane that big would need a long runway. Are there any old, secluded runways or airstrips in that general area?

I have read that there has been a sighting of an aircraft that was flying unusually low. Has that in fact been confirmed? It just seems odd that only ONE person saw the plane.

It seems that there's more questions than answers right now. A plane doesn't just disappear without a trace!! Except of course, in LOST.

I am just jumping off your post...

but... I have a crazy theory... But will share anyhow...

could the whole plane (and passengers/crew) be held for ransom... Some officials know about it somewhere...,but cannot divulge information due to strict orders of the plane/kidnappers?

Sounds silly... I know... But this whole situation is so baffling... That thinking outside the box doesn't even sound so extreme... KWIM?

:waitasec:

Some thoughts
1. If a bomb did go off during the flight, I would think the group responsible would want people to know about it. The point of terrorism is to put fear into people, and that isn’t going to happen if everyone is just confused.

...

Yep UNLESS this was a test run for more planes to go missing

May I have some help here please!

Can any of you tell me if this makes ANY sense to any of you? This is a bunch of nonsense , cargo doors are not cargo doors, 9 mile oil slicks are not from a downed jumbo jet that vanished right over the slick (close enough in my book!) -- its insulting!

Here we go, when I read this piece I was not sure if I felt like laughing or hitting a wall ( something I have never done in my lifetime)

Were off:

Here is the headline:

Oil slick not from missing flight MH370, says maritime chief

then this:

"The samples are actually from a ship," he told the media today at the MMEA

then this:

.............the two kilometre-long oil slick was yellowish in colour and was different from the ubiquitous oil slick from oil spills of ships.

What are you people talking about?

Am I losing my marbles -please feel free to let me know if your concerned!! Instant Dyslexia Onset?

Call me silly, usually the final paragraph of news piece sums the whole deal up, well try this for the closing on the subject of this mysterious oil:

And finally:

................sample was put through three tests..............The first test was to establish if it contained "mineral oil", followed by a test to determine if the sample from the oil slick contained "light oil" or "heavy oil". The final stage, the profiling process, is to check the fuel type (kerosene, diesel or petrol).

Thats it folks.......Were not doing cliff hangers here!

That is the end of the story.

Well you morons what did you find out? Hello, anyone home?

There is a paragraph about the whole incident after this.

It is mind boggling!.

TY I feel a little better now UGH!

http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/...-missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-says-mariti

PS: But I have great news for everyone! I solved the mystery. I just saw the video from the White House secret meeting. A purple spaceship, in route to Venus (via Mars) accidently collided with the 300 ton machine, and the martians kept it as a souvenir to show everyone on Neptune what they found while passing by earth in their way to Venus. Simple!

There, were all done here!

Trust me , at this point I do not think any of us think any one else is crazy --the way its going I kinda hope your right (which is a sad commentary in and of itself as far as all the insanity goes!)

There is to be a press conference at the top of the hour in just over 50 minutes from this post according to sky news in the UK.

Okay this is probably totally crazy... but it just occurred to me and I haven't seen it mentioned.
I would love to know how often this captain flew RECENTLY in a regular plane (not a simulator.)
I know how many flight hours he had... I'd like to know his schedule for the last few months. :twocents:

I've read that this captain was an instructor, a trainer, spent a lot of time in a simulator.

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles...0001424052702304020104579431214234709946.html

In a simulator you are in charge... you give the orders... you don't wait for ATC or anyone.
There was another disaster... where a 747 took off without clearance and hit a 2nd 747 still on the runaway.
The pilot who took off without clearance had spent a great deal of time in simulators.
He was found to be at fault for the accident, weather contributed, etc.

He was nearly as experienced as this pilot, highly regarded, training other pilots, etc.
Many wonder if the simulator time had something to do with it... so it occurred to me in this case.

This was an absolute tragedy 583 people died it's the deadliest plane crash ever excluding 9/11. I can't imagine the horror of witnessing this it was a very difficult episode of seconds from disaster to watch.

Missing plane: Search widens to Malaysia west coast

Malaysian authorities said on Monday they were expanding the search area from 50 nautical miles from where the plane had disappeared - over waters between Malaysia and Vietnam - to 100 nautical miles (115 miles; 185km).

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but it's pretty interesting:

Crowdsourcing the search for Malaysia flight 370

http://abcnews.go.com/news/t/blogEntry?id=22853909

Wasn't there something similar done a few months ago, when there was a private plane that went down in the mountains out west? I remember a lot of sleuthers searching that way.

Sorry if already posted a new article from the Daily Mail

Did these men witness the last moments of the missing Malaysian jet? First possible sighting of plane going into the sea off Gulf of Thailand

The light seen by one witness was several miles off regular flight paths
A second witness 100 miles south also saw a brilliant white light in the sky
Rather than carrying on through the sky, the light vanished behind trees

It was a motorcycle rental shop. Sounds like the shop was renting out motorcycles and took passports as collaterals.
Then it gave Luigi's passport to some supposedly Russian guy.

Understood. But never, ever leave your passport in someone else's hands.
Something isn't right about this practice or story imo.
A knowledgeable tourist would never leave their passport for the purpose of securing a rental.
A reputable business would never ask a customer to leave their passport imo.

I was going to post a bunch of links about protecting one's passport and travel safety tips but decided against it.
Anybody who is planning to travel internationally must read up on customs and what to be aware of in the countries they intend on visiting.

Also be aware if you're arrested in a foreign country you're under the laws of that country.
The U.S. can't step in and get you out of trouble.

that's not exactly MSM

horrible writing and no sources cited for said theory

I thought those twenty people were working on stuff for NASCAR...

Yeah but who would believe there is an international conspiracy to take down NASCAR? Invisible planes carrying 230 people is so much more convincing
