I hope that these images are of the plane. At least then we'll know where the plane is! What happened though, would remain a mystery for who knows how long. Until the black box is recovered, my may never know =\

Good evening!

Hoping so as well. With the number of Chinese nationals aboard this flight, my thoughts are that China is pretty certain what the images are or they wouldn't have released the photos. How embarrassing if they're wrong.

MOO

Am I the only person old enough around here to remember smoking on planes? Sheesh, it used to be commonplace!

hahahahhahaha My girlfriend and I backpacked Europe in the early 90s and coming home we were on a shaky flight.....literally.......we were right down the back in the smoking section and there was hardly anyone on the flight.....as we were both terrified we smoked two packets of cigarettes each....no joke.......

yuk I think of that now, my poor lungs...

What I find troublesome is no definitive wreckage-fuel, belongings, anything. With AirFrance crash by day after:

On 2 June at 15:20 (UTC), a Brazilian Air Force Embraer R-99A spotted wreckage and signs of oil, possibly jet fuel, strewn along a 5 km (3 mi) band 650 km (400 mi) north-east of Fernando de Noronha Island, near the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago. The sighted wreckage included an aircraft seat, an orange buoy, a barrel, and "white pieces and electrical conductors".

??? Borrowing a quote from the movie "Philadelphia" explain it to me like I'm a two year old. Originally Malaysian Air Force officials said it may have strayed hundreds of miles to the west. How can they just say oops! never mind! So confused :scared:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/12/us-malaysiaairlines-flight-idUSBREA2701720140312

A couple of things came up. First, the NZ oil rigger's claim is credible but now no one can confirm it's findings.

Second, the Chinese satt images, which now popsicle says are from Sunday.

Ok, now i'm confused too! :scared: Sorry! :blushing:

I thought I'd post this picture just to highlight how beautiful Aviation is, and it's not as bad as it seems. It's very safe and also beautiful method of travel. One thing I have to say is, the view you get is outstanding (Especially as a pilot :) )

This of course is the left wing of 9M-MRO - the missing airplane. (cn 28420)

I would be too :scared: to fly a plane, ever. I don't even like getting on the ladder to deal with my gutters.

The Oil Rig worker who claims to have seen MH370 go down was at his rig at 8°22'30.2"N 108°42'22.3"E - and saw the plane looking west between 260 and 275 degrees - 50-70 KM away.
The pictures from the Chinese Satellites seems to point to the same location.
Too much of a coincidence....possibly...worth checking though.

and this is near the area where the witnesses saw low flying lights etc....

I think we are finally onto something here........

The sun has been up for almost 2 hours over there now..... you would think if the searching vessels (and their respective countries) took the China report seriously, they would send their vessels there ASAP! It seems to my simple common sense mind that they could have started heading that way even during the night....these photos have been released for hours now. If my family member were on that flight I'd be screaming at someone to go look NOW!!!

Heck, it seems they could send a jet aircraft to fly over the pin pointed area and tell if they see the debris...they keep saying it is "so large" and perhaps even too large to be the aircraft.

I hope this is something...but based on just how things have gone up to this point - I'm not feeling very hopeful.:banghead:

BBM~ The pics are from Sunday??? WTH

If that's the case, something fishy may be going on.

Yes. They just released them to the public today. Also interesting, per CNN earlier - They have not been broadcast in China. Communists and all that... The public doesn't know about them. YET!

Wait just a minute..thinking out loud...

The flight was a RED EYE flight?in the darkness?

He said he saw burning and that the plane appeared to be in ONE PIECE (his words)

How can he tell it was in one piece in the darkness and about 50-70km from his surface location?

I will guess because he only saw 1 burning object and not multiple moving in the sky??

The lights on the plane maybe.

As a matter of fact I smoked on Malaysian Airlines in 1994 when I flew overseas to KL from LAX. Yes, I do remember, and it was an easier long haul flight.

I used to have to hang my uniforms in a separate closet - otherwise all of my clothes would reek with cigarette smoke! And I always "volunteered" to work in the non-smoking section of the airplane!

They are saying on CNN right now that the Malaysian's are sending aircraft there now to check out the image?

This is why I think they are real. I just don't understand why they didn't share this info earlier. I don't have a link handy, but earlier Malaysia said they didn't have this info.

I kept thinking surely they shared these photos with the searchers, and just didn't release to the public until today.

Why did it take four days for China to release satellite images of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 'crash site'?

The information was only made public when the American arm of the Chinese-funded English-language broadcaster CCTV tweeted the images this morning. This tweet was then picked up by CNN and the BBC roughly seven hours later.

<snipped for space>

I'd like to see the villagers and fishermen approximate position as well.

Good work! :loveyou:

Yes I agree why did it take 4 days????

Also on our news at 9.30am (1 hour ago) they said that Malaysian officials had not seen these pictures.....

Maybe the chinese wanted to be sure.....I think the location is too close to where the plane went missing to not be something significant, however I can not understand how they missed this with the original searches????????
