From reading her FB, someone named Danny had a lot of comment convos w/ her, but seems to have deleted all his comments. She says he is her "male BFF" that she was thankfully reunited w/ due to FB.
Is that her husband?

Could be - more likely the account was deleted? As an RSO, is he allowed to have a FB account in MD?

Her husbands name is Danny Cortez, according to MSM. They started dating in 2010 and were married in the fall of 2012.

I think she means because he got out of jail. I wish I hadnt read her facebook at all. As a sex offender is he not allowed to have a facebook page .???

I seem be unable to find a middle ground in this case and I do think maybe this DAD simply lost his mind.

It doesnt sound very planned all of this and if he just learned of the real reason the hubby is in jail yesterday and maybe she tried to tell him that it wasnt true and He hadnt had a chance to ask katie.

So he flips out and takes Katie so she can tell him what happen?

I have to admit, I don't see why some of you are saying you wish you hadn't read her FB. I only saw one mention in ill regard of her ex, 2 if you count her saying her dd looked like him. The rest was pretty normal stuff for someone at her socio-economic status. I didn't like it but I didn't find anything over the top sad or ridiculous.

I'm a newbie to the group, but have been following this since CV went missing... I noticed that TV had addresses in WV and MD. Then today on the radio I heard the alert that they'd been possibly seen in NC. The town they were seen in is on I95, which is a few miles north of I40 which goes east/west... It's possible that they are on I40 headed to Texas or as someone suggested Mexico. From NC it would take about approx. 2 days driving night and day to get to El Paso.

Additionally, one of the links that was provided above now has this detail: "Grandmother says girls' mother Bobbie Jo Cortez last seen alive Wed. Body found with her hands tied and tape over her mouth."

I don't believe the speculation that CV hurt her mother, esp not able to tie her hands or tape her mouth without being heard by the other occupants, much less anyone else doing so without being heard. (????)

If I were to ever go on the run ,I think the outer banks this time of year would be the place for me.

Side job repairing things and getting ready for the season ,lots of people just watching the ocean and relaxing ,kids are always plenty and excused from school due to families being there ,out of state tags are not even blinked at.

I wouldnt aim for mexico. Key west..outbanks or southern Georgia.

However I guess it depends on his plans or if he has any.

I've been watching for the car here on the OBX--we got the Amber Alert on our phones this afternoon

I live in Dundalk, and moved here from the Eastern Shore, so this is really close to home. I know kids who attend school with the Virts'. I also was once married to a sex offender, although he was not registered at the time as nobody had ever reported him. Does this make me a bad mom? I hope not, as I'd never have entered into a relationship of any kind with a known child molester.

This situation is a little different as the guy is a REGISTERED offender. I am shocked that this did not prevent the issuance of a marriage license between the offender and the mother of several children in his preferential age range.

I did not intend on offending anyone. I was simply talking about the case, she was married to a REGISTERED sex offender, which is completely different. Sorry I offended you.

Does anyone know why they keep saying that CV should not be with her dad? I've also seen it phrased that he should not have her etc was there a stay away order in place between TV and his kids? Did he have visitation rights? Overnights? I know for the past several weeks TV was supposedly living with them which makes it all the more confusing. Prior to that were the kids allowed around their father? I'm just not sure why it continues to be worded this way. I know he took off with her and he shouldn't have but other than that did he pose a physical danger to CV? Were there ever allegations of abuse to his children against him?
I'm a little lost about this. Anyone have any insight?

I kept reading that phrase too and took it to mean he was in violation of the custody agreement. Maybe people would have thought - the dad and daughter were out and about - no big deal/ no concern so LE wanted the public to know this was serious and he was not supposed to have custody.

Nor do I - but I posted the thoughts that ran through my head. Obviously TV was involved or it strongly resembles that right now. I always like to explore every possible scenario - no matter how bizarre - just to rule it out. Usually the most obvious choice is the strongest possibility and TVs silence is speaking volumes. I was answering the other poster's question because yes I played out that scenario - and for the reasons you mentioned - it didn't jive. I also played out the scenario of the other people in the house (DCs son /spouse) having involvement - maybe an argument took place and CV called her Dad who came to get her. But there would be no need to run/hide afterwards. Plus - articles stated he was living there for the past two weeks - which I don't get especially if a custody case was to occur this week .

Holy cow, we lived in Milton before moving to Atlanta. He could take 75 South to 85 South and pretty much drive straight into Milton after taking one exit in Alabama. I hope they have the alerts up, it's a well-traveled area (all interstate) until that turnoff towards Brewton/Milton.

The first thing I noticed was the mirror in the lower left of the photo. There are two people that can be seen in the mirror and are standing there so I thought maybe it was taken at a toll booth or something. But it looks like whoever is taking the picture is at a lower point than the vehicle is and the vehicle looks like it is on something other than pavement. A metal ramp or something? Wonder if the vehicle was being towed in this photo and, like you said, could be one that someone had prior to this. The picture is really not a very good one is it? But at least the decals are white and I think they stand out a lot. Hopefully that will be very helpful in spotting the vehicle.
