Looe, is the parking area of the apartment complex where her vehicle was found "gated"? If so, then the vehicle could only have been left in the complex parking area by someone who had access to the code to open the gate.
My father lives in a gated community and it's not uncommon for me to be able to just drive in after the person in front of me opens the gate.

Yes, christy, good point. I wondered about that -- how easy it would be to zip through on the code entered by the person ahead of you -- without the arm nailing your hood.

yes, I drove by there yesterday and pulled up to the gate. It did not open. It needed a code.

Yes, I know that you did. Thanks for checking it out because it seems that the media has omitted that very important fact about the electronic gate into the complex. In my opinion, that is not a minor detail.

It will be interesting to see whether or not they mention it in the press conference, or if any reporters ask that very pointed question.

At my daughter's apartment complex, if the gate starts to close and the sensor detects a car going through, it will open again. I wonder if the arms have the same technology.

They all do in case the car stalls in the middle. I have yet to see a gate, other than pay tolls, that won't open back up when it senses another car going through.

Tweet with a video by a former student. Clearly, "Miss Wallen" is a very dedicated, caring teacher, who has close relationships with her students. Very worried about her ...:

Has it been said or are we just assuming that the "former student" is a recent student of hers?

Possibly he was her student 10 years ago and now he's in his 20s and they are friends?

Sorry if this has been addressed, I'm a few pages behind. I think it said he just graduated, but I can't remember for sure if that was him or another student who has spoken out or posted something.

The car was INSIDE the gated community. You need a code to get IN, not just out. She lives about 20 miles from the school.

Do we know if they found her keys, wallet, purse, phone, etc. in the car? Was it locked or unlocked? All of the misinformation in the early reporting on this case is confusing things for me!

Or someone who just waited near the gate and followed a car in. We did this all the time at our last house.

So

- last seen by neighbours Sat evening
- family unable to reach her Sat and Sun
- Police visited her home "multiple times" before Mon after being contacted by family
- troubling text sent to family Mon 9 am
- missing person report filed Mon

Maybe the text was suspicious because it didn't sound like her. From last sighting to text is roughly 36 hours during which family was not able to reach her. Maybe whoever harmed her saw all the attempts at communicating and decided to sent a reply to calm the family.

I wonder whether LE was at her home already on Sunday or only on Monday after the text was sent? It's not clear from the reporting. It only says LE investigated before filing the MP report on Monday. I guess the family requested a welfare check, but did they do that on Sunday or Monday?

RSBM -

I get the impression the police weren't informed that anything was amiss until after the text(s) on Monday morning. That is apparently what tipped the scales into "we should be concerned!" territory. So from that i wonder if police came to the house a few times over the course of the day before making an official report later in the day.
