BALTIMORE, MD (WBTV) – The last person to see Phylicia Barnes before she disappeared in December has now hired an attorney, WBTV.com has confirmed. The man, who WBTV.com is not identifying by name because no charges have been filed, is the ex-boyfriend of Deena Barnes, Phylicia's half-sister.

We knew this because MJ posted so on the now sanitized Find PB FB group. Makes me wonder if the media, PI or family is reading here and taking cues from our discussion. Wouldn't be the first time. I'm so glad this has been officially confirmed via MSM.... though I never had reason to doubt this statement from MJ.


"That's ironic because we don't have attorneys," Phylicia's father, Russell said by phone, "because we don't have anything to hide so that's a mystery to us in itself."

Barnes said he now questions the man's account of the day Phylicia disappeared.

So do we all Mr. Barnes! So do we all.

With the help of the FBI, investigators have been tracking the teen's cellphone, bank account, Facebook and MySpace pages. Two messages on Phylicia's MySpace page caught the attention of detectives.

One, marked December 28 read, "wit my sis n bmore." Another message, apparently left December 31, three days after Barnes was reported missing read, "bored as hell.....save me lol."

Guglielmi said police could not confirm if Phylicia posted the later message.

We found this, but already determined the two above myspace messages were from December of 2009 based on messages from March 2010 following the Dec messages. (I love when WS is steps ahead, you sleuths are great!! )

Guglielmi said in addition to searching the northwest Baltimore apartment of Dee Barnes, detectives also searched other apartments, homes and vehicles.

Detectives had taken a piece of the carpeting from the half-sister's apartment.

Interesting! I thought the apartments, if not all were likely carpeted. Hard to determine if this carpet was taken initially or at a later time when the apartment was possibly processed a subsequent time.

Guglielmi said detectives were working to piece together the last 24-48 hours before Barnes' disappearance. "Usually with a case like this the statements are supported by some type of physical evidence, but we just don't have that," he said.

"My phone still has all the text messages from Phylicia, if you take a step back and look at it different, you may find a new clue," Barnes' other half-sister, Kelly, said

This tells me KB is very likely a pawn who was set up by the person who is responsible for this crime. Trusting his word that her half sister was sleeping. Sadly, it is possible even if she had stopped by PB would have already been gone from the apartment and there would have been nothing she could do about it. I honestly believe she was set up as a means for the perp to expand the time line. If KB had any direct knowledge or involvement she would not be offereing her phone and possibly access to her phone records to assist LE in bringing justice to and finding PB.

Has it been verified or confirmed that someone other than DB and PB stayed over night in the apt?
Yes. DB and KB verified that LBC stayed the night, and MJ verified that LBC stayed the night. LE has not said a word.

PB seemed to be okay when DB saw her sleep in the morning. Has anyone confirmed what time MJ left the apt after 9-ish am? He always speaks about what time he arrived there. MJ never says what time he left. I can't remember if he did.
MJ did not say when he left, but it sounded like he came, picked up LBC, and left, then came back. Wonder how far away the "other family member's house" was?

Has anyone asked, (did PB try to contact her sisters first)? If so, what time was the first call/text made?
PB first contacted (via text) both sisters around ten, about the same time MJ said he showed back up. After PB got out of the shower and settled on the couch, she called DB, and that's when she made the "yeah he's doing laundry" comment.

DB said she thought MJ was just coming once but PB said, yeah he here, he doing laundry. Was that the last actual voice to voice communications?
KB indicated PB called her at 11-ish to ask her to pick PB up after work. My understanding is that is the last voice communication. The rest was texts. I could be wrong, so please correct me on that.

Does anyone know if it has been stated, the where-abouts of MJ from 1:30 until 4:50? I can't seem to recall that.
No mention has been made of where MJ was during that time. It is assumed he was unloading what he had packed. How far away is his new home? That would give a good clue?

MJ often seems to mention that he drove here and there but did he ever say what car or truck he was driving or who does the vehicle belong to?
Definitely not said.

For some reason, it was decided to search certain peoples vehicles. Did they ever say whose vehicles?
The only knowledge of vehicles I have is Lil-GJ and MJ, because the both mentioned it in Twits/Posts. Which supports my feeling that LBC and Lil-GJ are one and the same.

There's so many different (times) and (stories) I get confused sometimes. Can someone fill me in.

Sorry to quote myself. It's been mentioned this group uses the phrase "so and so fell asleep on me". If KB had no reason not to trust MJ or the groups so and so is asleep (after a hard night of partying and I am not saying that is what PB did the night before) . Perhaps she had been told someone was sleeping numerous times previously and it was habit for this group to await a call after the person woke. I'd bet MJ had relayed a message like this previously and DB and KB never had reason to doubt his word prior to PB's disappearance. Surely MJ would know both DB and KB's habits well and it would have been easy for him to fool them and manipulate the timeline and events of the day as he wished.

RB had conversation w/ MJ when RB arrived in Bmore Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 29th).
RB asked MJ about the 28th, and MJ said PB had been asleep on the couch, MJ asked her what she was going to do, and PB said she was going to get up and go get something to eat.
RB said he doesn't believe it because PB would never gone anywhere with anyone without texting her sister DB about it.
On the day PB disappeared, MJ was nowhere to be found once she was found to be missing. He didn't come back to the house until 2 or 3 the morning of Wednesday. After they had been calling for him.
RB said MJ has not helped with the search whatsoever. Has not offered or taken the initiative since day one.
RB: "It is not morally right if someone is looking for someone to be nonchalant about it and pretty much not help at all."
RB says by hiring an attorney, MJ is stalling the investigation.
LE has not named anyone as a suspect.

To add, If KB had any direct involvement she would not be speaking to the media. JS, Mr. Barnes and KB have been quite verbal in the media. It is MJ who has not and who has lawyered up. DB is a bit hesitant but I can't say that is in direct relation to knowledge regarding her half sisters disappearance. I can almost postively say it is a direct result of the tremendous guilt she must be feeling based on the choice to leave her sister there that day, with LBC and MJ. I'd bet money she knows at least MJ is likely responsible and I could not imagine the pain/guilt she is feeling.

Praying PB is found and the person responsible is held to the max justice allows.

RB had conversation w/ MJ when RB arrived in Bmore Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 29th).
RB asked MJ about the 28th, and MJ said PB had been asleep on the couch, MJ asked her what she was going to do, and PB said she was going to get up and go get something to eat.
RB said he doesn't believe it because PB would never gone anywhere with anyone without texting her sister DB about it.
On the day PB disappeared, MJ was nowhere to be found once she was found to be missing. He didn't come back to the house until 2 or 3 the morning of Wednesday. After they had been calling for him.

Now onto my comment about the above translation to the video. BBM above. I call BS right here on this statement of MJ's. Not a fat chance in hades he was unaware of what PB was saying to her sisters. No way would she way she was going to get something to eat. She would have said KB and I are gonna get something to eat when she gets here..... He was well aware PB was expecting KB, which is why he concocted the 'she's asleep' story to keep KB away and then lawyered up a short time later. He is smart enough to know the more he says the more likely he will incriminate himself. Lawyered up he has an excuse not to talk and he really made a poor choice in blaming this on DB being upset he has a gf. I hope that alleged GF of MJ's recognizes he's tossed her into this mix inexcusibaly and I hope she talks to LE - if for nothing else to help clarify or confirm some possiblities for LE. IF the gf is not a make believe part of MJ's ego. just sayin'.

I had to go back to PB's myspace page to verify what I remembered. It is exactly as I remembered.

I can NOT BELIEVE that LE would mention the posts from Dec.

How could they not see the posts after those, in Feb. and Mar????

How could they not see her last post in Mar. talking about deleting her page?

How could they not see the posts before the Dec. ones, from Nov, Oct, etc?

Most importantly, how could they NOT know that PB had visited Bmore during Dec. 2009?????

Unless he wasn't at work, and was out of cell phone range, or his cell phone died, MJ sank his ship by posting on the Find PB site while at work, IMO. There is no excuse, in my book, for not responding to the messages.

I remembered seeing a news brief early on in the case that the BF was missing too. So that's where that came from... DB could not get ahold of him.

respectfully snipped by me. This threw me too. I thought perhaps she might have felt akward being faced with media questions not having experience with the media. Perhaps she was coming up with times from memory versus having a written timeline. For now, since we can be sure LE has verified she was at work that morning and they appear (based on MSM) to be focusing around one person who has lawyered up - I think we can safely assume any involvement DB had was likely indirectly based on putting her sister in a bad situation.

I thought about JS's comments: · JS did not know DB's boyfriend (Michael Johnson) had all type of traffic, his friends, men back and forth, until 4 in the morning. I think we can safely assume some of this is a bit exagerated since we know MJ works nights. He surely couldn't have had people coming and going at 4am all the time if 5 nights a week he was at the job during those hours. She also may have been misquoted and meant over the weekend, or the weekend preceeding PB's disappearance. The media often misquotes people to sensationalize a story....

I also get the impression since both DB and MJ were on the lease and presumably splitting the rent and utilities 50/50 there was little DB could say about who MJ brought to the apartment and when.(she was probably just biding her time until he was moved out) I just WISH she would have recognized just how uncomfortable PB was and perhaps decided it might be better to take PB to stay at KB's or another family members where PB felt safer- at least until she knew MJ was moved out and had a chance to change the locks. Though, can't go back and change it now.

We have to hope MJ spoke with someone that afternoon. Someone he likely used as a pawn like the others into convincing them he was somewhere other than where he was. I hope 1)ANYONE who spoke with MJ from 10am throughout the remainder of the day and into the following day has called LE to share their conversation with LE and appx what time it was. 2)LE is in the process of scouring his cell records and pings and putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Still betting MJ will NOT cooperate and voluntarily take a poly. (I don't think he'd pass it and I don't think he believes he is sharp enough to pass it.)

I'd like to think if the FBI is reviewing those social networking sites they have already figured that out. My guess is the rule out simply hadn't been passed along to the LE spokesperson for this case prior to him being interviewed for that MSM article.
